    Teasdale at Iowa?

Every fan base, including PSU, does that. In fact, I think every fan base in every sport does that. You haven't stumbled on something unique here. There are 3-4 posters on there that are always overly optimistic about improvement and such, but you like to pretend that's indicative of the entire fan base. Simply not the case. Most Iowa fans have very realistic expectations for their team. You also see PSU fans do this. For example, early last season a few were speculating that Nick Lee had closed the gap with Yianni and that Teasdale would be an AA threat at 125. There was also a lot of talk about Rasheed being able to beat Martin. Obviously, none of those things came to pass, but the conversations themselves weren't stupid or anything. They're the whole purpose of message boards. The difference between you and me is that I don't act smug and self-righteous about it as if I don't ever engage in homer reasoning.

This is nonsense. Yianni is also a phenom, but to say Pico wasn't is crazy.

also like to see Moore get a title to complete the 1-4 placings set. Has to be a fairly small group that has done that. I know Abe and Larkin did it getting one place better each season 4th as freshman on up to champs as seniors. Jim Martin went 4-2-1-3. sure some more recent than those that I am forgetting right this sec but again guessing a fairly small group overall that has those unique placings. or just being top 4 for 4 years, great stuff and a lot of the guys on your list can make that happen.

57kg - I think it comes down to Fix vs Lee, with Fix taking it 65kg - Yianni taking it against Zain (boring...) 74kg - Nolf dominates the field until he gets Isaiah Martinez in the Trials finals due to his win at the US Open. Nolf didn't enter the Open because NLWC makes decisions like that sometimes. Nolf beats iMar after giving up 2 pushouts (5-2, 4-2). Jordan Burroughs fresh off a medal uses his bye and sweeps Jason Nolf in competitive matches 86kg - Taylor will be sitting to the finals due to winning the Open, and Cox had to beat Alex Deringer, Zahid Valencia and Mark Hall to make final X. J'den Cox takes it in controversial fashion in 3 against David Taylor. 97kg - Kerklevit made final X by dominating most of the field, and then winning 4-1 against Ty Walz after Ty Walz wins a close one against Gadson, Snyder takes out tOSU teammate Kerklevit in 2, but Kerklevit holds his own (4-0, 8-3) 125kg - Gwiz is sitting in Final X due to his world medal in 2019. Gable torches the field, giving up 2 offensive points to a Mason Parris double. Gable beats Gwiz in 2 (5-4, 3-3)

197 - Kollin Moore (3.4.2.?) 174 - Zahid Valencia (3,1,1,?), Mark Hall (1,2,2,?), David McFadden (6,5,5,?), Myles Amine (4,3,3,?) 165 - Vincenzo Joseph (1,1,2,?) 149 - Matthew Kolodzik (7,3,5,?) 141 - Jaydin Eierman (5,4,3,?) 133 - Stevan Micic (4,2,3,?) Eierman and possible a few others will take an Olympic shirt Mark Hall is the only one with a regular redshirt remaining. I think the least likely to get to 4 would be Kolodzik, only because he tends to take a weird loss here or there, but he always shows up for NCAAs so who knows. McFadden is in a tough weight, especially if Zahid and Hall stay at 174.

Good to see Bo doing this and taking it seriously. Good luck to both, but this is Nickal's spot. He should do well at the WC.

Methinks you may have overlooked/forgot to include Myles Amine 174 Michigan 4-3-3. I am pretty sure he will be back next year.

Since the dust has settled, I've come to believe that some USA Wrestling higher-up in the challenge jury decided to uphold the takedown to avoid the appearance of another Yianni/Zain situation. In Gilman/Fix, the officiating crew followed three-man-mechanics properly, the IOWA staff threw the brick relatively quickly after the points went up, and the call was correct, but they denied the challenge because upholding it would have changed the winner with little to no time for the second week in a row.
  16. 1 point
Correct! Possibly followed by Lewis 2 years later if all goes well. They have had 3 timers but no 4

Yeah totally agree-J’den is definitely a favorite but I feel like Dake/Ringer, KB and Snyder all have great chances to at least make the finals. I’d be really surprised if we don’t get 1 gold.

He ONLY lost to Dake in OT, in quite controversial fashion, to take 3rd, having also beat him that year. But, let's just call him a non-champ, without context, to "pee-onify" him as much as possible......................and don't forget taking 2nd to Gomez the year before..........

    Will Steveson's suspension be lifted?

When you made that rule social media wasn’t what it is today, so coaches and athletes regularly checked themat and flipped out when issues were discussed that they did not like. There was pressure to police the forum (hence your 5 AM calls and threatened lawsuits). Now these types of discussions are ubiquitous on Facebook/Twitter and themat is an afterthought to the coaches/athletes. Yet we still have this rule of absolute censorship, which was good at the time you created it, but has now become archaic and excessive. Delete the posts that cross the line and ban the users who repeatedly cross the line. Absolute censorship is the wrong policy from a governing body (although god course it’s legal and they “have the right”).

Read the rules, guys. USAW doesn't provide the platform for its athletes to speak on this (meaning, it doesn't own Twitter). It does, however, provide this platform and it's well within USAW's rights to make rules that users can either abide by or not abide by. If you don't abide by them, talk about it somewhere else. There's a litany of comments in more trafficked platforms than this. I don't work here, but I explained in detail why this policy was enacted - it's because this forum's userbase often lacks the level of restraint and maturity to discuss it without it divulging into absolute crap. I dealt with it for years. Legal matters aren't discussed here because we have some absolutely deplorable fans who have accounts here. They ruined it for everyone years ago. No one's to blame except the fans who can't control themselves. Why does this thread stay? I'm going on the assumption it's about him returning to the lineup. I suspect people will spend more time trying to circumvent the rules, which I will never understand. Pretty sure if the topic stays about competition at heavy, it won't be locked up or tossed, but that's up to you guys.

    Teasdale at Iowa?

I'd like to see Murin up at 149 next year (assuming some combination of Teasdale/Renteria/Desanto doesn't leave them with a hole at 141) if for no other reason than he's their long term plan there after Lugo graduates. I think people, myself included, may have underestimated how much he was cutting last year and how much it affected him. I think the cut mitigated a lot of his power. Last summer, at 143.5 with night before weigh ins, he looked really big and strong, to the point where he actually muscled a bigger Sammy Sasso around quite a bit with his snaps. As the season wore on, he didn't have that same juice in his snaps and without it, he wasn't able to move guys as well, which his offense depended on. For some perspective, he definitely has the frame to be a big 149. He's listed at 5'8, 3 inches taller than Pat Lugo and right in the average range for a 149.

    Stop 1984ing us

Seriously. I haven't seen this level of censorship on the boards since we bought an olympic spot for "He Who Shall Not Be Named." I get setting rules for the level of discourse allowed. But to just ban an entire topic from discussion that is currently the #1 piece of news in wrestling is ludicrous. Moderate the topic and delete the posts that cross the line-don't delete the threads.

    Fix oly redhirt?

So Okie must now be stricken from the English language. Sounds doubleplusgood to me. Hopefully we continue banning language and culture to a point where only grunts are allowed audibly, and any recollection of our past is a crime. Wouldn't it be swell? <Insert made up offensive retort, because, reasons>

I think Rob Koll is the best in the biz. He becomes a savage when it comes to his wrestler's best interest. That's the coach I want looking out for my kid. I think he had/has reason to be exasperated with the officiating in both of those instances, and I see no problem with him having his guys' backs.

    The call

Not outraged, just think he is a two faced pudd. I like Yanni, unlike his head coach, a real stand up kid, admitted he failed. Nothing against Cornell Wrestling with the exception of their whining weasel head coach and some annoyng fans who enable his slandering, lying and his disrespecting of his wrestler's opponents. Other than that, peace to all
