Have you never talked to middle school kids? That’s their number one complaint. It’s laughable how ignorant you are.

If we do a cost benefit analysis of this, we are sacrificing nothing by making this change. It will have zero effect in the way matches play out. Even if it only gets a few more kids out every year or results in a more positive appearance to a handful of outsiders and casual fans, wouldnt it be worth it?

Singlets look ridiculous and any functional advantage they have are negligible (otherwise MMA guys would wear them). Other than getting pants-ed, there's no downside to shorts and this is a move in the right direction. Hopefully, all teams will follow suit.

It is way more appealing to young wrestlers and to fans. I still don’t understand why anyone is against it. It will not negatively impact matches in the long run. Possibly there will be some issues in year 1 with grabbing shorts and the like, but guys are used to wrestling people in shorts in practice.

It's like clockwork. Stud high school wrestler picks a school, fans of schools he didn't pick clamor to say he's overrated or won't pan out. Happens every time. Doesn't matter which school.

The Amines have biological ties to San Marino and I'm sure the finances are not a huge issue for his family (good people and well to do in the area). Novochkov, Habat, Micic, Amine, Abounader, etc., I'm glad they are getting a chance to further their careers.

Micic beat world number 1 Suleyman ATLI (TUR) in his quarterfinal match. That's pretty impressive, even with the drubbing he took in the finals. He is right there with the best in the world. He should take the Olympic Redshirt and compete for Serbia.

I was more thinking it could help NCAA viewership. Every time I've tried to watch them on ESPN with friends they make a comment about singlets. Although I guess for it to really make a difference a lot of teams would have to switch (well maybe just PSU...)

As stated in a previous post, Iowa has historically been mute on their guys wrestling hurt or injured. Despite their approach, there were comments all year by the coaching staff and Lee himself regarding not being healthy and wrestling through adversity. You have to not want to hear what's being said to not realize what was going on. As Terry says, Haters will be Haters and this board has plenty of those. Brands said in an interview during the season that Lee's been sick and banged up all year and then at nationals he said "I don't know what he said in that press conference, because he needs to give himself a lot of credit, Spencer Lee is one tough character." How can anyone question 1. his toughness and 2. the fact he wasn't healthy for the majority of the season? No one is going to come out and say he had xxxxx. It's not happening out of anybody in that Iowa room. The kid is too classy to ever use being hurt as an excuse. He said it nationals when he said this title means more because he had to wrestle through adversity. When asked to elaborate he said, I'm not going there... It's a new year, so I'm looking forward to it and I hope he and the team stays healthy. It's a long season and a tough sport.

Oh yeah, just because I didn't list Miranda, Jamil and Townsend, I didn't forget about them. The crazy thing about Jamil is that he never won a state title, then goes to Ok State, later on wins the Olympic trials, then got silver :(

She won 2-0 :) with luzie manke in repechage and francy rädelt in the finals we may got two more medals. I'm looking forward to 97kg and 130gr, etka Sever and Jello Kramer got U23 medals and I hope they can win a few fights or even a medal, but Sever wasn't impressive at German nationals last month, he placed 5th.

who cares? horse dancing and fake sword fighting have been olympic sports for over a century. i'd rather the olympics include stuff thats fun to watch than stuff that is literally impossible to enjoy as a spectator like rifle target practice or sailing. most of us will end up watching the break dancing competition and it will be fine, no problems for anyone.

I’d watch breakdancing over Greco any day.

They should have a spring Olympics for this kind of stuff.

Taylor has been successful vs Yazdani, but "mops the floor with him" is overstating it. In both of their matches, Yazdani has gotten the better of Taylor in the first period (3-2, 6-2, respectively). Taylor's ability to maintain a relentless pace throughout the entire matches (and Yazdani's inability to keep up with it) has been the difference, however.
