    NCAA approves shorts

I think we've figured out the answer. We'll ditch the singlet and teams will wear compression shirts and compression shorts, but to prevent the shirt from riding up, the shorts will be attached to the shirt so they're one article of clothing.

    Zain - Yanni outcome?

I really dont see how anyone is accepting of the officiating or outcome of that match. Its like if the Chiefs were running out the clock against the Patriots in the 4th quarter up by 6 and the Pats challenged a call that overturned a Chiefs touchdown from the 3rd quarter, winning them the game. In no other sport would this be acceptable, and yet here we are, with nobody in any position of power admitting that something is wrong. The second match should be re-wrestled, but that's not going to happen. Zane will be our representative. A bunch of imbeciles will continue to run and officiate this sport.

    NCAA approves shorts

Yeah, compression shirts/compression or fight shorts have been legal in HS and MS for a few years now. Like you I don't see the connection with the NCAA rules....

    Zain - Yanni outcome?

LOL, no, and not even a big Yanni, vs Zane fan either, I support them both,.... I just dont want to see what we saw in those matches. These guys are putting their whole lives into this, and they deserve better from the judges that what happened. If nothing else happens, I hope the head official is never allowed to officiate above a kids level match again.

Yep Blatnik def benefitted from the Soviet led boycott, even with Karelin being a few years away. Blatnik wrestled a great tournament though, and was a great story during those Games. Led the US group in closing ceremonies iirc.

I get it, but since this was posted on international forum, Blatnick has made an Olympic team. Cant say that about the others.

    NCAA approves shorts

You're welcome. Because we don't need to change something everytime someone has a complaint about being uncomfortable. I'm not against shorts and compression tops but we really need to accept the fact that this change alone isn't going to make wrestling a mainstream sport. The singlet doesn't improve the sport at all but what it does say about the guy who is wearing one is that he is a wrestler. Some wear it as a badge of honor, some wear it because it's required and some would like a change. I don't know how many viewers the wrestling community will lose over the loss of the singlet, maybe as many wrestlers as it would gain.

    NCAA approves shorts

Overseas pretty much everybody wears singlets to train in. Hate baggy shorts. Fingers/hands get caught up in them. Fine as an option for middle school and high school kids who are sensitive about their bulges (or lack thereof), senseless in college.

    Zain - Yanni outcome?

The brick should be thrown after the points were awarded, not 45 seconds later on a Hail Mary challenge. The fact that the didn't re wrestled the last 45 seconds is absurd. It's too bad the refs blew the call. It was a great bout. Sent from my moto z3 using Tapatalk

A few other posters have pointed out that they do not believe there are specified limits to the number of Olympic Redshirts a person can be taken. It is assumed that you would only be in school for one cycle and if they happened to be there for two likely wouldn’t meet the criteria to take one the first cycle. However, in Micic’s case he is both around and eligible for two cycle. I’m sure Michigan is in communication with both the NCAA and Olympic Committee to clarify the situation.

    Mt Rushmore for your state

Been waiting, hoping that someone else would attempt Oklahoma, but here it goes: Gotta start with Danny Hodge, 3x NCAA undefeated champ and Olympic silver medalist...THE trophy is named after him so he's gotta be on there. Of course you also have to include, arguably, the greatest freestyler the US has produced in John Smith. Then it starts to get a little tougher, I will go with Kenny Monday because of his freestyle accolades since this is the International board. I have no idea where to go for the fourth bust, do you go with a Kendall Cross or does the first 4x NCAA champ Pat Smith go on there? Gold medalists Wayne Wells or Shelby Wilson? What about one of the toughest wrestlers that no one seems to know about on this board in Tommy Evans, 2x NCAA OW and Oly silver medalist? His Olympic coach and fellow Oklahoman Wayne Baughman (who also might deserve to be that 4th bust) said that Tommy would have probably beat Gable. Leroy Smith? Mike Sheets? So many other names that I am probably forgetting but at least that's a start.

    NCAA approves shorts

So we're agreed then. Let's break this down into a simple bullet list: Proper practice attire = singlet underneath shorts and a t-shirt Proper competition attire = something other than the singlet we now have that leaves too little to the imagination I don't want to dig into details about which solution is best - I'm sure many are fine. Let's start with a change and keep evolving. I will note that this is absolutely 100% a problem with non-wrestler spectators, particularly women. They strongly dislike it. Wrestlers opinions may vary, but at least some of us would prefer something other than the singlet. Other concerns like cost, injuries, legacy, etc. are not significant enough to overwhelm the bigger issues.

    Interview clips ?

searched the 2011 Flo coverage for Dake and didn't locate what you're looking for, but I couldn't help but rewatch his walk off/celebration interview...."What did you think when he went down? KD: what an idiot..."

    Suriano vs lee

I truly appreciate the answer. I was legitimately interested. Without an Iowa interest I would like to think I would still believe Lee’s issues were health related and any mental issues that may have reared themselves were only a direct result of the inevitable frustration with the roadblocks those health issues caused. I guess next season should be a very large indicator. If he runs through the full season like a buzzsaw, I would heavily lean towards that. If the same issues plague next season, I will quickly come to your side of things.

Baumgartner, Smith. Then pick from JB, Dave Schultz, Kemp, Gable, Cael. I'm inclined to select the first two. Maybe a more difficult question is, who would USSR/Russia pick for their four man monument? So many to chose from: Medved, Yarygin, Beloglasov, Fadzaev, Saitiev, Karelin, etc. etc. etc. It's pretty mind blowing actually. Seems like to even be in consideration for their spots you need at least 6 or 7 world titles.
