    IMar and Engel to OSU

Just announced that Isaiah Martinez and Nate Engel are heading to Corvallis. Coupled with Pendleton, this looks like a great staff! https://osubeavers.com/sports/wrestling

Nazar won 3 titles. I believe he had an injury his freshman year and didn't compete in the post season, but he never lost at NCAA.

If we are going to indict Karelin based on his build, are we also going to indict Bono, Molinaro, etc...... while we are at it, do we want to double check that the samples didn't get switched when Leipold beat Slay?

I think the members of the forum should pitch in, and hire a full time Persian to English translater for you so that you can overcome your issues with non Persian languages.

I'm willing to bet that coaches currently working on next year's schedule are trying to schedule their important duals in January and February. I've wondered if cutbacks on travel expenses will kill the South Beach Duals.

    documentary about Satiev

JB is my favorite wrestling ever, but Saitiev is the greatest freestyle wrestler ever. And the way he won was awesome-not pure strength/power like Sadulaev, but a combination of explosiveness, length, technique. He could attack every level with success against the best in the world, and his leg lace was brutal (see the 04 finals).

Best wrestlers of all time by weight class

It's crazy to think just how far apart they are, because JB is a legend in his own right. Maybe the proper analogy would be like comparing the vastness of space when it comes to comparing legends to GOATs. It will be a very long time before we see someone who globally dominates at the level of Satiev and Karelin again.

Well, we agree that Satiev ranks higher than Burroughs. If Burroughs had won three olympic golds, he would be in very very elite company (I only can think of two), but yes, I would still pick Satiev, the man who could have won 4 gold medals

Here's one more I agree with Tediashvili at 90 kg., but I think you have to include Makharbek Khadartzev as well.....2 Olympic Gold/ 1 silver, 5 World Gold/2 silver/ 1 bronze.....Tediashvili has 2 Olympic Gold (vs. John and then Ben Peterson), 4 World Gold/1 World Silver (in 3 different wt. classes).

Just looking at 48 kg. at would put one of my favorite all-time lightweights in this discussion....Roman Dmitriev 1 Olympic Gold,/ 1 silver, and 1 World Gold/2 silver and 1 bronze...I first saw him wrestle in the first USA vs. USSR dual at McGaw Hall in 1971......tough!!!! And to me, there is no question it's Fadzaev at 68 kg.

    Where is Suriano?

What an absolute schmuck, the jersey shore is where People go with cash? I have a little bit of cash so I go to places where I can see my feet once I’m into my ankles. Not the brown water which is an extension of the trash state NJ is. Why don’t you keep talking about how great NJ is by talking about the surrounding states. What a clown, jersey is great because it’s close to N.Y. city and the Poconos. You just sound stupid.

Hey...if anybody from Texas starts talking trash about you, you can always threaten to subdivide, and then Texas will fall down a spot on the list of largest states!

Buvaiser Satiev vs Jordan Burroughs. I know that’s not 4. But both men in their prime would have been an exciting match I think.

Great post; thanks for the memories. Like you, I've seen a lot of matches through the years, every NCAA since 75, and the Midlands from 77-82. My favorite memory from the Midlands was watching the sly ole fox 'Wade Schalles' literally bait Dave Schultz in a position/moment that determined the match. Dave had a seat-belt type bear hug on Wade who was in his ever-present whizzer. Typically a wrestler wants to step in deep with his inside leg and pull his opponent in while rotating him to his back. Wade kept opening his stance just a little bit, by bit, until finally Dave struck by stepping in for the squeeze. Wade with his incredible hips, cut Dave straight back to his back for a 5 pt move, almost securing the fall. Dave didn't get out-foxed often, but this match was a classic matchup of the wily veteran vs the upcoming future phenom.
