No. There are a lot of things I will do, but attending any kind of entertainment event - sports, theater, concert , and especially indoors - is something that should not be considered at this time. We'll see about 6 months from now.

    Iran Wrestling News

I read so many interviews and comments from wrestlers praising this "team selection package" they officially call it "Cycle" ! lol I'm sure complains start very soon when it actually happens. Meisam Nasiri for example claims he sweared to never wrestle again but now he is motivated to wrestle ! and MJ Ebrahimi is now preparing himself to beat everybody at 97kg !!! it will be funny if he achieves something with his ultra conservative style. but that made me think what about non-Olympic weights ? I know nobody cares about that right now but in time for the 2021 World Champs that will be somehow important. that "very smart trial system" says nothing about that. they have to consider an extra trial. if I was Karimi I would focus on that to finally win a world title (with Cox not being around) I also read that Amir Mohammad Yazdani can't keep himself for 65kg anymore and most probably will try his chance at 74. I think Maghsoudi also has to do the same. but unfortunately nobody can move up to 55kg to challenge Atri ! PS: it seems Dabir and Mohammadi are good now. after that press conference I was almost sure Mohammadi will resign before Dabir firing him but none of them happened !

    Brandon Slay's gold medal

Brandon Slay's gold medal has been under appreciated by many, but he really had a bum rap regarding the event, for many reasons. First he accomplished something that very few ever did, he defeated the great B Satiev, who was the heavy favorite, and I might add this was in the height of Satiev's career, unlike Karelin's controversial loss in the same year to Rulon. (and I say controversial only because of a rule that changed as a result of that match). Second, Leipold got most of his points because of improper clinching (totally subjective); Slay did lose a subsequent activity point only due to being put in a desperate position to score, because of the controversial interpretation of the clinch. Slay beat Satiev fair and square, but lost in the finals amid controversy, but people only remember that Slay 'got lucky' with the drug ruling (itself controversial) against Leipold. And finally, Slay was denied the moment that all Olympic champs dream of, standing at the podium, listening to the national anthem in front of the world on the grandest stage in all of sports. He earned the gold medal; his win over Satiev was one of the greatest upsets of all time.

    Brandon Slay's gold medal

    2. I think he was a multiple time age group medalist? Also had a good game plan and style to beat Satiev. Satiev was the best ever, but if he was vulnerable to anything it was blast doubles and gut wrenches. Slay was great at both techniques.

Give yourself a break, go outside and play baseball, soccer or go running. Folks need to get outside where there's solar, wind, heat etc.

HS sports workouts (with limitations) begin June 1st in our conference (weights, conditioning, etc.) - less restrictive workouts (teams, scrimmage, etc.) begin July 1st. Of course that barring any setbacks.

yes there is somehow, I mean not the exact date but the month nothing for the first provincial round Nationals in Mehr (September-October) Takhti Cup in Azar (November-December) first Intl tournament in Dey (December-January) Asian Champs in Bahman (January-February) (while in UWW calendar it's scheduled for April) Trials in Farvardin (March-April) final Intl tournament in Dey (May-June) and it's kind of being too optimistic to think we can have a big tournament like nationals in 4 months. (and what about pre-nationals ?) Iran is reporting more positive coronavirus cases since the reopening. and wrestling federation is still waiting for the health ministry's approval to open wrestling clubs (at least for limited number of wrestlers) for people who can't understand, these are Persian months, Iran use a different calendar

I doubt Fargo will happen at all. Certainly if it does it won't resemble anything in the past. NY is not going. NDSU is not running any summer camps or classes. They haven't specifically ruled out this event but if no in person camps, I can't imagine them wanting to do an even larger event like this.

They've had 3 months off. I think a little live wrestling is warranted.

I always thought Lowney beating Kougashvili was more impressive. Though Gogi had a tendency to underperform at the Olympics for some reason.

    ncaa champ fantasy match

I was referring to the collegiate versions of Mark Schultz and Cael Sanderson. Didn't Schultz win his fist NCAA title at 167 and his last two at 177? I thought Cael won his NCAA titles at 184 (3x) and 197? So even though they competed in the same Olympic weight, it wouldn't be appropriate to match them up in a fantasy college match-up, right?

Many D1 tennis teams are filled with foreign players. I wonder if that is a reason that sport is getting hit hard. For example, 7 of the 8 players on ECU's men's team and 7 of 10 of the women are foreign. Small roster and hardly any in state students might also be a reason. If any of them went home, when will they be able to return? The 14 tennis teams dropped accounts for 113 total athletes in all divisions. Akron women - 6 of 9 foreign, 0 in state Green Bay men - 7 of 7 foreign Green Bay women - 6 of 8 foreign, 0 in state 5 D1 teams total. 42 players. 33 from outside the US. 2 in-state players.

So I will share a story with you about my encournter with a wrestling champion. In 1971, I was 13 years old and in 7th grade. We moved to Tehran from a smaller city. I went to school during the days, and took English lessons two night a week at a place called, the Iran American society. It may be hard to imagine now, but in those days the two governments were very friendly towards each otther, and the Iran American Society was there to promote cultural exchange and friendship between the two nations. I chose those classes because a fair number of their instructors were Americans, and I wanted to learn English from native speakers. So, I went to register for one of their classes, and it was a long line. As I was waiting, I saw a very fit looking guy appraoch to get in line. I then reallized that it's my idol, Movahed. I was so star struck, I did not say a word, I just stared at him for minutes. So, Fadzaev may have a better recrod, and he is probably the better wrestler, but Movahed is my favorite in 68 kg
