I don’t know about this Dake fellow, but he hasn’t beaten as many people as melanoma.

Either Mark Zuckerberg doesn't follow KD on Twitter, or heed Kid Dynamite's sun inter-action routine(s) and recommendations.

Stare directly into the sun. Develop your eye calluses. You will know when they are there when it no longer hurts to stare into the sun. - Dr. (Not) Kyle Dake

    Cornell Big Red Wrestling

Yeah... but look at all of the slackers Vito lost to in high school. There was this guy named Yanni... that was his first loss. And then there was... oh yea. That was IT!!!!

His pseudoscience health advice is way out there, and people are asking questions as if he is some kind of expert.

    Carlton Haselrig - RIP

Really an amazing athlete when the guy's high school didn't have a wrestling team (his entire high school record was something like 10-0), and yet he goes on to win 3 Div I college titles, and then he didn't even play football in college, and yet goes on to be All-Pro in the NFL. I always thought that if he hadn't chosen to go the football route, he could have been one of the greatest international wrestlers, and this was right in the middle of Bruce Baumgartner's prime. Following his retirement, it was discouraging to hear about his problems with substance abuse, although I thought that in his latter years, he had put most of that behind him. RIP to one of the greatest.

nothing more obnoxious than someone only hearing one trigger word for them personally and then shutting off their brain and going full manufactured outrage mode... read what he said again, but, this time really read it... or... don't...

Anybody else think it is weird that the Trib link has coronavirus in it when we don't know what he died of yet?

Might need to take a Big Green Clean Machine to the entire interior before selling.

Chuck Woolery sees nothing wrong with Dake's post. Since when aren't athletes/pseudo-celebs automatically experts in pretty much everything...

    52kg weight class

Completely agree. I find it funny when people say things like: "If it weren't for the 118 pound class back then, wrestler X couldn't have wrestled in college." As you mentioned, the weigh in rules were different, and everything except heavyweight shifted up 7 pounds. So 118 pounders back then walked around about as big (or bigger) than 125 pounders now.

I’m hoping that the Kollin Moore question up there was a joke that Dake took seriously.

    PIAA NEW Weights = 13

False, I coach.... and have had a full line-up most years with no more than one forfeit a few times. Even when we had a forfeit I wasn't clamoring for a reduction of weights. Surprisingly it's always been at a lower weight. Wanna know the truth? You ain't filling your lineup with 13 weights, so what's the next option? Are you going to keep taking away weights until you can field a full lineup? There are 474 schools with wrestling in Pennsylvania. Last year only 62 forfeited 182 and 196 at District. There were 269 teams that had both weights filled. You are eliminating 269 varsity wrestlers to save 198 forfeits between both those weight classes. The math doesn't add up.

    Did Nomad Really Get Fired?

The anger on this board is only outweighed by the general ignorance of corporate responsibilities vis a vis communications. What do you expect a corporate entity to provide in terms of information on employees being released? Have you never worked in a corporate environment or had employees (both good and bad) you were personally and professionally responsible for? To say anything would be unwise and could not possibly benefit the firm. The vitriol towards Nomad is hard to understand. He's' a little bit of a nerdy dude, but he clearly loves the sport. Not everyone is physically / mentally built to be a competitor. So what? A large dose of anger management and general personal awareness could benefit the discourse here.
