This is a very fair take on that match, imo. I think Cass wrestled as well as he could in period 2, but it took the starch out of him at the same time so not too sure about better as much as packing all he had to give into one good period. You are spot on about the gap between the two. A 100 percent Kerkvliet will also probably have his way with Cass just because Cass can't handle that kind of speed and athletic ability. How many can?

Just different levels, man. Cass is REALLY good, and Gable just toys with him.

We were on break during the second day of the B12 tournament in Tulsa. I had my Wyoming gear on and an Okie State fan asked what conference Wyoming was in!

There were no duals. It was a round robin tournament. Cohlton Schultz went 3-0 including beating the top ranked heavyweight in the Big 12 (Brian Andrews of Wyoming - who WrestleStat has ranked # 8 & The Open Mat has ranked # 10). He also beat Trussell of Utah Valley who WS has at # 28. Two of Schultz's 3 matches went into overtime. Chlebove lost two of his three matches - all three were wins (or losses) by decision. The takedown stat is more a testament to how good Iowa is, especially on their feet. Nebraska (#6) has a pretty solid squad this year and they only scored 5 total takedowns against Iowa in a 31-6 loss last week. Most of these takedowns were by Labriola against Iowa's backup at 174. If Kemerer wrestles in that dual they beat the Huskers even worse than they beat MN last night.

Did ASU win the duals? That would be impressive

No way AU is dropping wrestling as long as Meltzer is providing the $$$. Moore did not come close to the success Cody had in this environment....time was up. We'll see which way this goes....but AU is not dropping wrestling.

The point wasn't about them dropping as much as "stealing" the endowment and dropping.

I think that was posted during the second period when Cass actually wrestled him really well and Gable looked to be slowing down a bit. He found a new gear in the third and blew it open, but until that final minute or so, it was the best Cass had wrestled him. I think it arguably still was. The score was worse, but Gable's output compared to the first two matches was way up. Cass defended and wrestled out of a bunch of positions he didn't last year. Last year, Gable scored at will (and just chose not to do it that often). This year he scored more, but also failed to score a bunch of times. The reality is, as good as Cass is, the talent gap here is ridiculous.

Kind of sad how MN has circled the drain the last several years... They used to be consistent title contenders, then at least a solid team with multiple AAs. Now they have... Gable? Maybe Brayton Lee? MN has enough highschool talent that they'll be able to grab one or two stars, but I remember 10 years ago when this match would have been a nailbiter between two top teams instead of an absolute blowout that was a forgone conclusion before anyone took the mat. I was reading the match notes and MN scored ONE takedown other than Gable's match. That's some Maryland level bad right there. Not sure if Eggum is 100% to blame or not. It felt like even towards the end of the jRob years things were trending downhill, but Eggum certainly hasn't been able to turn the program around.

1. Please explain this open ended non-focused statement. It is equivalent of me saying a lot of people can't run fast. 2. Have you looked at the data to this? Long term effect? IF you have "long term" effects, most lingering issues are resolved after 21 days (see CDC and WHO websites, I looked at both)...which is exactly identical to the SARS outbreak in 2003 (see WHO website)...don't remember shutting down the whole world than??!! And please define/explain "long term individual and social costs is extremely high"...again, I could say the exact same thing in regards to why the Olympics SHOULD happen. 90%+ people I know have all gotten COVID...there are ZERO who have had any lingering effects after 3 weeks (some were really sick (my dad and a neighbor), some had hardly anything (like me, my son, and my sig other), but none had long term effects from damaged multiple organ systems. 3. So many things wrong with this but I will start with...what is the end game then? When is it okay for some normalcy?? Zero transmissions? The virus magically disappears? We have a vaccine for every possible mutation that will ever occur now and in the future? Using your logic and fear mongering ("but the idea that if someone doesn’t die it’s all gravy, even if they can’t breathe for two weeks and have permanently scarred organs, seems misguided") we will NEVER go back to "normal" We will always have to wear masks (which is interesting when you look at the nazi states like California compared to a logical state like Iowa...yes I said Iowa was a logical state but that discussion is for another time :) ). I always ask this of the fear mongering emotional people in regards to this and they can NEVER answer it...when will it be "Okay" to do things again than? Be specific and not these open ended overly emotional illogical statements like "When no one else dies!!" Some of you need to turn off the local news/CNN/MSNBC and put down the local newspaper and do some of your own research. Quite ruining opportunities for people because of something that you have completely and utter control over if you never wanted to get the virus.

Are we supposed to have other teams travel hours to get to an event that will take less time than it would to get there just to satisfy you? There are only 5 Prep teams in NJ and about the same in NY and they have a sub-qualifier the week before- more out of tradition.
