    HBCUs?

Marcus, You do the sport no favors when you spout off incorrect stats and figures as if they are gospel. I provided you the exact information you SHOULD be talking about when beating the Title IX drum. I want you to voice your opinion, but I also want you to do it from an educated stance - I disproved two of your claims in two minutes. Others can do the same when you bring that argument to the table. I'm glad being educated on an issue and having the factual information to back it up is considered "fancy." It seems you have a rounding error somewhere.

    HBCUs?

Since I assume you mean Division I, here's the facts. Men's Lacrosse has more programs at the end of the 2018-19 year than they did in 1982. (73-50). The percentage of schools sponsoring is also up two percent. Men's Golf has 299 programs in 2018-19, they had 263 in 1982. The percentage of schools sponsoring is down 10 percent. In 1982, 263 of 276 D1 schools had men's golf. That number is now 299/351. There have been significant losses in men's gymnastics, 59-15 (but at most, only 21% of Division I institutions sponsored the sport to begin with). Swimming is almost always a target. Men's Swimming & Diving is down 50 programs, from 181 to 131. So while Title IX played a prominent role in the decisions of departments and the NCAA and the law allowed Prong One (Proportionality) do most of the gutting in the mid-90s, if you're going to use sports as a crutch for your argument, use the right ones. At the end of 1997 alone, NCAA wrestling teams dropped by 29. The second biggest drop came with a loss of 17 teams (all 3 NCAA divisions) in 1987. There was a rush of 20 teams that came on in 1996, but most of those were existing programs which reclassified from the NAIA (like the entire RMAC). If you're looking at straight numbers: Fencing (down 22) Gymnastics (down 44) Rifle (down 31) Rowing (down 1) Skiing (down 9) Tennis (down 26) Volleyball (down 11) Water Polo (down 3) Wrestling (down 71) Most HBCU's are so female-enrollment heavy WITH football, it'd be a disaster with them to try to add sports because they'd be so far out of compliance with all three prongs of gender equity even before getting the money for it.

    HBCUs?

Most HBCU's are very female dominant enrollment wise, which may explain part of the reason why I enjoyed my time Howard University so much (Morgan State was our toughest conference opponents back then too) ! That being said would it help if they added both a Woman's and a Men's wrestling team at the same time? Right now the only 4 year HBCU with wrestling is Allen in SC, which is an AME sponsored school that participates in the NAIA. It makes me wonder if Allen could figure out how to do this, why can't Wilberforce (HBCU) another AME sponsored school that participates in the NAIA, in High school wrestling rich Ohio do the same thing?

    IOWA VS PSU DUAL

Will the hawkeyes and fans at the carver arena be enough to hold back PSU?! 8 out of the 10 matches will have ranked contenders and a total of 3 #1 Vs #2 matches ( according to inter mat rankings that were updated in September.) While Iowa claimed a national title PSU crowned 4 compared to the 1 individual national champion Iowa crowned. As we all know this will be a nail bitter and to expect always the unexpected at this dual meet. Below is my opinion on what may take place. 4points 125 #1( Lee) VS (Suriano?) Prob will be #2 This will be absolutely electrifying if this goes down 4 points 133 #4(desanto) Vs #1(RBY) This will be interesting due to desanto being injured the last two times they matched up, as I would love to see him pull it off, 3 points 141 #2 (Eierman) Vs #1(Lee) A grudge match from the finals last year, carver arena will help Eierman pull it off! 6 points 149 #10(Murin)Vs Open 4 points 157 #6 (Young) vs #26( Lee) This will be the unexpected moment in the dual meet 6 points 165 #2 (Marinelli) vs OPEN 3 Points 174 #2 (Kemerer) Vs #1(Starocci) Another grudge match that will end in the hawkeyes favor. 6 points 184 #15(Brands) vs #1 (Brooks) 4 points 197 #3 (Warner) VS #4 (Dean) 6 points HWT #3 (Cassioppi) Vs #5 (Kerkvliet) Cassioppi aint playing around this year! 28- 18 IOWA!

Bratke? Is that you, bud? Every 'credible' source is still pointing to PSU. Your Flony, CP said Ohio State, Nebraska, and Iowa State... Askren's reaction was adorably accurate. He laughed at him.

    Darrah to Stanford?

An athlete can’t “commit” to an Ivy League school. The schools don’t offer athletic scholarships and athletes don’t sign national letters of intent. You apply, you get an acceptance letter, and you send in your deposit. If you are superstar wrestler and you are admitted to the school, you have no obligation to wrestle. Don’t even have to show-up for the first day of practice. Granted, being a superstar athlete will make it easier for you to get into the school, but you commit to nothing.

I don't believe so. Consider someone who wrestles but never enrolls, or enrolls but never actually attends school.

No one wants to see this. Snyder would get worked by Zare. I'm not sure if Snyder can beat Ghasempour. These fantasy matches with guys wrestling outside their weight are silly. It would be an amazing dual if both countries bring their #1's in each weight. Let's not make this more complicated than it needs to be.

There are huge JV tournaments. The number is not important, it’s the level of competition. That’s why Burroughs’ titles are so impressive. A ton of super hard matches.

Can't believe no mention of KJ

In my opinion KJ is simply not the big-picture CEO type that is required to run a national program at a high level. That's very different than being an assistant to one of the best CEO's in college wrestling in Sean Bormet though. I think he will excel in this role and be an absolute beast for them on the recruiting trail.

"Amateur athletics" on the scale of NCAA football sounds a lot like a front for "institutional exploitation of young athletes" to me. Glad to see it die an undignified death.
