  1. https://www.flowrestling.org/articles/6956973-what-happened-with-jden-cox-and-what-happens-next?utm_campaign=news&utm_medium=socialmedia&utm_source=twitter&utm_content=article&utm_term=copy.whathappenedtojden&rtid=&coverage_id= Flo has an article that breaks down the time line some. Obviously we now know that Snyder's primary adversary is alliteration.
  2. Ok, so I've now cracked where you went to school, working on identifying you fully. Not sure if you've ever said it, but for some reason this sent me on a detective mission. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  3. Interesting idea. It's tough to see an arbitrator actually doing this (which you nacknowledge) given that Cox only had the bye to the semis, but this is a relatively equitable solution that penalizes Cox without going overboard. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  4. Ok man. We've had this debate several times. You have your own definition of choking. Go with God. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  5. Yeah. Like I said, I think it's mostly a poorly timed confluence of events. For example, if the Trials were last year, Gilman would have wrestled for HWC along with Spencer. But nope. Or other guys might have qualified with more events. The injuries, obviously. Plus the transition to the next generation of Hawkeye wrestlers, as said. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  6. That's a lot of resources guys would be walking away from.
  7. He's won this tournament before. There was nobody really here to challenge him with Lee and Suriano both out, and Fix seemingly regressing. Vito may be able to challenge Gilman in a few years if he can get stronger. Lets see what happens at the Olympics. I would love to be wrong and not see him lose in clutch situations, but the pattern is the pattern. He often (but certainly not always) has mental mistakes or gets tight in tough situations. I will agree if he's able to physically dominate the Olympic field he is unlikely to have that situation come up and he'll come home with gold.
  8. With Dennis, it's hard to know. I love Dennis, but I'll admit I was hoping that we would get someone with a different flavor of wrestling. Obviously Dennis is very different personality wise, but I thought some diversity of skillset would be nice. However, it's hard to judge Dennis yet, since we haven't really gotten to see a whole bunch. I understand Lugo blew his last two matches (well, at least the Henderson one...he fell right into McKee's head pinch, but that's also...kind of what McKee does) but he has looked much better than I think anybody thought he would. How much credit does Dennis get for that? I think the short turnaround limited the HWC participation in the event due to limited qualifications and guys not being able/wanting to make weight three weeks in a row. I would also point out Lee, prior to his injury, looked better than he's ever looked, but...he's Spencer Lee, so I'm not sure how much to credit Dennis, though, as with any coach, he gets some. In short, I would give Dennis an incomplete as of now. Lugo has looked great, but we need to see more from the new members of the club (most of the collage guys, which is part of the reason for the poor representation.)
  9. I don't think anybody is saying J'Den couldn't beat heavyweights. I think most think he definitely couldn't beat THAT monster.
  10. If they only offered this Tweet? Yes. If I-Mart came in and testified to what he saw directly? No. None of this is legal hearsay at the moment since this is not a courtroom and I'm not an arbitrator or a judge. I was a certified mediator for a while! Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  11. But, apparently, he broke a different weigh in rule. Why was it ok to break that weigh in rule? If the argument is 'rules are rules', well... Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  12. It wouldn't be hearsay if somebody came in and testified to what they saw. Hearsay is just an out-of-court statement offered to prove the truth of the matter asserted in the statement. If J'Den came in and said "I heard someone say Burroughs missed weight, and they met him wrestle." I would imagine in this case they would have someone with direct knowledge of what happened there to testify, so that's not hearsay. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  13. Confluence of events, many related to COVID made this a tough OTT for the HWC, no doubt. Lee injury, Gilman leaving, Lugo getting dumb at Last Chance, Eierman and Kemerer losing in the finals and Last Chance being the next week, Marinelli being injured. It is what it is. They one have one current threat to be a world/Oly rep, plus a couple of guys who could be national team members. We'll see how some of the guys progress. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  14. You're not going to believe this, but that's not an accurate transcript. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk

  16. I want to say a quick shout out to @ConnorsDad who just blindly let me use his Peacock log in. We do not know each other, and I get that it's just a streaming service log in and not your social security number, it was still an incredibly kind and generous move.
  17. ...this was not the first "square" match they have had.
  18. I don't think anybody is serious. Except @headshuck. And me. I'm serious.
  19. Did you guys hear JP O'Connor was posting here tonight?
  20. Hey hey hey. The douchebag factor is off the charts most nights here.
  21. Interesting. That's great odds for anybody who's got the scratch. US seems relatively safe bet for medals at 74 and 125. Even a diminished Taylor is probably going to medal at leat at a relatively thin 86. That leaves you needing 1 medal from Gilman, JO (if he qualifies), and Snyder. I would wait to take the bet if I were one of you until I see if Oliver will be there. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  22. I did not realize there was this much animus. Tell Bo he can forego his future MMA riches and he is welcome to go train at the second richest RTC in Iowa City. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  23. Actually, it's about Olympic team, which is the reps. I believe the other guys are considered part of the national team, which is a different thing. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  24. I get the sense Bo will not be interested. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
