i asked this earlier in the thread but... so you think a national duals format w/ a ncaa title slapped to it would make it wildly popular? second point (and maybe this is why i appear to be a prick and dismiss some things) A duals tournament for the NCAA title and an individual tournament a week or two later is never ever ever gonna happen. nor should it. don't suggest it. don't use it as an assumption or a starting point. it 100% is not going to happen. i'm not saying that because i don't want it to. i'm saying b/c it's not feasible (for a myriad of reasons). so i think anyone here proposing to have both needs to start with the 'when' question. i assume that you know my stance - i'm all for national duals at the right time.

not sure. he probably got some sort of bonkers points for beating Cenzo. idk.

I actually like it. it says in neon lights that it's not a ranking, but a rating. now, they could make adjustments to their algo, but what the world doesn't need is another set of college opinions.

let me ask this question (and i'm not being rhetorical) you guys think that the reason ncaa's is the most wild, well attended wrestling event on earth is not because it's the most exciting, but because it has the ncaa title attached to it? as in, if you had a national duals at the end of the year and slapped an ncaa title on to it, you honestly believe that the excitement, attendance, press, fanfare, and coverage would be equal to or greater than what we have now?

Years where best dual team didn't win NCAAs?

the arena was perfect for the size of competition. as far as capacity...doesn't matter .... it wasn't close to filled. -

you're completely lying. at the heart of the issue - for every single person that wants duals to determine the champion - is that fluke stuff can happen in duals and thus more 'surprises'. in bracketed individuals, a fluke can happen and that guy can still mitigate it by coming back for 3 or 5th or whatever. i'm done arguing about it. it's never gonna happen and for good reason. i really look forward to the same thread popping up in 350ish days -
oh ffs, now you're telling me what i like and don't like. the salient point is this - the team score is not a barrier to following ncaa wrestling. it's literally on a huge giant freakin screen at all times. using team score as a point of emphasis to change the most successful wrestling event on god's green earth is beyond disingenuous
