  1. Starocci strikes me more as a poor man's Mark Perry than a Bo Nickal.
  2. And I just helped start your second 1,000...
  3. Somebody remind me who this Coach Clemson is...unless he's referring to either Clemson head football coach Dabo Swinney, or Maryland head wrestling coach Alex Clemsen, I'm utterly stumped. And knowing darned well who the latter is, he's a lot of things, but none of them have been mentioned by Mr. moveurfeet32 on this message board in the last hour and change.
  4. Doubtful. The only way that would happen is if a committee scheduled Brigham Young on Sunday, when the chairperson was an alumnus of that school. (yes, that actually happened one year).
  5. All of the duals except for Rutgers/Maryland on Friday and Northwestern/Minnesota on Sunday will be on National TV of some sort. Nebraska/Illinois and Oklahoma/Oklahoma State on ESPNU, the rest on the Big Ten Network.
  6. Hey...I just tried to fill StovePipe’s shoes as best I could!
  7. Am not aware of one...and as the conference's last Sports Information Director, I presume I'd be the one in possession of it! (that title is not a joke, for those wondering)
  8. Division I Collegiate athletic conferences in general are ill-conceived and formed. It's not just wrestling conferences! Have a look at these maps: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_NCAA_conferences#Division_I
  9. Oh, I've been keeping the data...the data just literally does not exist. There is not enough interconnectivity to do a reliable Dual Impact Index (I actually tested it out at a couple of weights last week). The only Dual Impact Index release, ironically, will be after the NCAA Championships, when they're pretty much irrelevant except for the Abacus Award final standings.
  10. Just a note: Davidson has bowed out of the SoCon tournament due to Coffeevoid.
  11. Totally agree. Tell @jack (on twitter) that too...always frustrates me when I get a "like" for discussing programs murdered by their athletic administration.
  12. Was supposed to be Northwestern and Iowa. That dual was scrubbed because, well, Coffee-Void. (that's actually the latest update) As far as Wyoming, don't believe they're sending their starters.
  13. All times Eastern, with local times in parenthesis. Friday, February 19: Michigan at Michigan State, 5:00 PM Penn State at Ohio State, 7:00 PM Saturday, February 20: Air Force, Northern Colorado, Utah Valley at USAFA Round Robin, hosted by Air Force, 2:00 PM (12:00 PM) North Dakota State, South Dakota State at Last Chance Challenge, hosted by South Dakota State, 3:00 PM (2:00 PM) Sunday, February 21: Northwestern at Minnesota, 1:00 PM (12:00 PM) Nebraska at Illinois, 2:00 PM (1:00 PM) Oklahoma at Oklahoma State, 6:00 PM (5:00 PM) Monday, February 22: Maryland at Penn State, 6:00 PM Indiana at Purdue, 8:00 PM
  14. Correct, except I used the top 29 in the coaches' ranking. (at most weights...28 at some weights to allow for at least one per conference)
  15. Was moved back to 11...the Northwestern/Ohio State women's basketball game was pushed back to 1 to accommodate the originally-scheduled start time (was originally supposed to be a 12:30 tip).
  16. It was for BTN. They moved it back to 11 only after making room for Northwestern and Ohio State women's basketball to start at 1 (was initially scheduled for 12:30)
  17. They couldn’t do it like every year, due to the number of matches wrestled. The number of guys with 15 matches is probably countable on one hand.
  18. Ironically, compared to the coaches' ranking, the Big Ten is the most underallocated, by 17 spots, and while the EIWA did make out like bandits (overallocated by 20), the MAC really didn't get hurt by the allocation process (overallocated by 3). Note that the allocations aren't apples-to-apples, as we were looking at the CR determining all 290 bids, whereas the NCAA Committee allocated 266, and held an additional 24 back for the at-large selection process. By the coaches' ranking: ACC: 2, 5, 5, 4, 4, 5, 3, 5, 5, 4 = 42, underallocated by 9 Big 12: 6, 8, 6, 4, 6, 4, 8, 5, 6, 7 = 60, underallocated by 15 Big Ten: 12, 7, 8, 12, 9, 9, 10, 10, 8, 8 = 93, underallocated by 17 EIWA: 2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 1, 2, 4, 2 = 25, overallocated by 20 MAC: 3, 3, 4, 1, 3, 2, 4, 3, 4, 5 = 32, overallocated by 3 Pac-12: 2, 4, 3, 2, 2, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2 = 21, underallocated by 2 SoCon: 2, 1, 1, 3, 1, 3, 2, 2, 1, 1 = 17, underallocated by 4
  19. OK State used to, but they pulled them either last night or this morning.
