  4. Also another thing worth noting is 4 of the 10 starters for Cal Poly in the dual vs Oregon State were Freshmen. Two true Freshmen straight out of H.S. (Adam Jacob & Trevor Tinker) and two R.S. Freshmen (Legend Lamer and Antonio Lorenzo).
  5. Nope. Two wins by Fall = 12 points and one TF = 5 points. 12 plus 5 = 17
  6. I say BARELY because the final team score was 23-17 and three of the ten matches were decided by 1 or 2 points. If Cal Poly had won two of those three very close matches Cal Poly would have been the winner yesterday. Personally I think it has more to do with the steady (five years) improvement that the Cal Poly head coach has been making. Kudos to him and his staff on making that improvement. One of the most entertaining matches yesterday was watching the 6' 7" tall Trevor Tinker confound # 29 ranked J. J. Dixon repeatedly. Dixon was lucky to come away with the win in that match as I think Tinker just wore out in the 3rd period. It's not often you get to see a wrestler who isn't a heavyweight who stands 6' 7" tall. Hell it's not often you get to see ANY wrestler who is 6' 7" tall for that matter. If you didn't watch this dual yesterday (online) you missed some good wrestling matches at 125 lbs, 133 lbs (it was closer than the final score would indicate) and at 141 (same) and at 165, 184 and 197 lbs. 9. According to the Cal Poly wrestling and Oregon State wrestling schedules the match between Cal Poly & Oregon State tomorrow can be watched online via the Big West TV website. That dual is scheduled for 2 p.m. PT : https://gopoly.com/sports/wrestling/schedule https://osubeavers.com/sports/wrestling/schedule
  10. THURSDAY January 14, 2021 Oregon State vs. Cal Baptist (10 a.m. PT) and Cal Poly (Noon PT) @ San Luis Obispo, CA. FRIDAY January 15, 2021 Cal Baptist @ Stanford @ 1 p.m. - Whether this match will take place remains to be seen. 11. After the first five weight classes Oregon State has won two weight classes by Forfeit (125 & 141) and two more by FALL (149 & 157) and one weight class by Decision (133). Oregon State leads 27-0 at this point.
  12. It appeared that Brandon Kaylor (Oregon State) won by Forfeit at 125 lbs. Dual started at 133 lbs.

  14. Found on the Oregon State wrestling twitter page https://twitter.com/Beaverwrestling/status/1348325453032005632 Of course one of the refs has chosen to park himself right in front of the camera right now.
  15. Very nice win for the Sun Devils last night. There were a number of surprising results last night. I was pleasantly surprised by Cory Crook losing at 149 lbs by only one point (4-3) to # 13 ranked Mitch Moore. Also surprised that # 10 ranked Jacori Teemer lost at 157 lbs (6-2) to # 16 ranked Justin Thomas. Also surprised that # 5 ranked Anthony Valencia barely won at 165 lbs (3-1) over unranked Jake Stiles. VERY surprised that # 30 ranked Trey Munoz upset # 8 ranked Anthony Mantanona Also surprised that # 8 ranked Kordell Norfleet had to go to 2 overtimes tiebreakers to beat # 13 Jake Woodley (4-3). Too bad there were very few ways to watch these matches last night (that was available nationally).
  16. I see these matches tonight going like this: 125 lbs ASU's Courtney over Naifeh (or Hoskins) by MD or TF or FALL 133 lbs ASU's McGee over Madrigal by DEC 141 lbs OSU's Demas over Lipari by DEC or MD 149 lbs OSU's Moore over Crooks by MD or TF or FALL 157 lbs ASU's Teemer over Thomas by DEC 165 lbs ASU's Valencia over Stiles by TF or FALL 174 lbs OSU's Manatanona over Munoz by MD (IF Munoz is the starter) or by FALL if Zane Coleman is ASU's starter 184 lbs OSU's Roberts over Belshay by DEC 197 lbs - ASU's Norfleet over Woodley by DEC 285 lbs - ASU's Schultz over Heindselman by DEC

  19. At least the Oklahoma and the ASU wrestling schedules both SAY it's available on those two very specialized Fox Sports channels. However when I clicked on the link for Fox Sports Live this is the message that appeared: https://www.foxsportsgo.com/program/905795/college-wrestling-arizona-state-at-oklahoma According to what I read the Fox Sports OKLAHOMA is available nationally on DirecTV and on Hulu-Live and A T & T TV Now. And Fox Sports ARIZONA PLUS is available nationally on DirecTV and A T & T TV now.
  20. Would someone please WAKE-UP those in charge at CS Bakersfield and Stanford and let them know that the 2021 PAC 12/NCAA wrestling season HAS begun. So that maybe then they will finally get around to releasing their respective wrestling schedules for the 2021 season. And as long as we're talking about waking up people - might also want to wake up whoever is in charge of the Stanford Wrestling twitter page - since the last posted message on it is dated July 7, 2020.
  21. Fresno State was scheduled to wrestle against Stanford AT Stanford this Saturday night. However that dual was also CANCELLED/POSTPONED due to the "public health orders in Santa Clara County." https://gobulldogs.com/news/2021/1/6/wrestling-dogs-dual-at-stanford-postponed2.aspx
  22. I find it odd that Arizona State's Cohlton Schultz is NOT listed in the new rankings at 285 lbs. Especially since he's 2-0. https://www.wrestlestat.com/rankings/starters
  23. Guess it depends on how you look at it. The match between N. Colorado and Cal Baptist WAS scheduled for next Monday at Cal Poly. That match WAS cancelled by Northern Colorado. And then later (just yesterday apparently) rescheduled for tomorrow to take place in Orem, Utah. Why there? Who knows? Cal Baptist's schedule has (at this point in time) not been updated to reflect that change. They still show the match vs. N. Colorado for next Monday at 1 p.m. at Cal Poly S.L.O. https://cbulancers.com/sports/wrestling/schedule
  24. They also cancelled on Cal Baptist
