  1. I would second that, i.e., I agree. Romero in particular (since he started out at Boise State).
  2. Those of us who actually watched that match know it was a VERY close match prior to Woods finding his way to his back. Some people just insist on making false statements here. Apparently they have nothing better to do with their time.
  3. You make an excellent point. I hadn't considered what you mentioned in your last sentence. I have no idea what the plan is for Cael. Just have to wait and see like everyone else.
  4. I think it's a great opportunity for Woods myself. If Woods is up to the level he was competing at last season I wouldn't bet against him vs. just about anyone at 141 lbs. He absolutely was NOT at that level at the PAC 12 tournament. Speaking of Stanford wrestlers, what I'm wondering about is whatever came of the Tyler Eischens matter? I couldn't believe that anyone in a position of authority (at Stanford) would be so stupid that they would violate his Constitutional right to privacy - as well as the HIPPA privacy laws and do so on a public forum. If someone did that they would be opening themselves up to being sued personally. So I was very skeptical that that was the case. But I never did hear any more on what actually occurred regarding Eishens.
  5. Cael competed last summer at the Midwest Iron Man duals (according to TrackWrestling) at 182 lbs. https://www.trackwrestling.com/membership/TWMemberList.jsp?TIM=1615491098047&twSessionId=zmbojvwxne He went 7-0 at that event: 182 Results CAEL VALENCIA of California DC went 7-0 182 - CAEL VALENCIA (California DC) over Quayin Short (Minnesota Blue) TF 10-0 182 - CAEL VALENCIA (California DC) over Unknown (Unattached) Forf 182 - CAEL VALENCIA (California DC) over Griffen Gammell (Sebolt Wrestling Academy) TF 10-0 182 - CAEL VALENCIA (California DC) over Lincoln Willett (USA Mat Club) TF 10-0 182 - CAEL VALENCIA (California DC) over Manny Rojas (Michigan Blue) TF 10-0 182 - CAEL VALENCIA (California DC) over Remington Stiles (Rural Dual Team) TF 10-0 182 - CAEL VALENCIA (California DC) over Braden Baumgartner (Straight off the Couch) TF 10-0
  6. Yeah, I saw that. Should be interesting to see what happens in that match. Based on what I saw of RW in his match vs Willits at the PAC 12 tournament this year Woods was doing okay but he got "caught" in a bad move (much like Griffith did vs Valencia) and got himself pinned. I wouldn't expect the same sort of match next week.
  7. Nope not me. I did watch a video of him about a month ago and it sounded to me as if he is done after this year. Also I heard some comments from Zeke Jones and he sure sounded like this will be the last year for AV. I mean if he did come back wouldn't that be his 7th year at Arizona State? I know it's a possibility tho. As an aside I tried to work up a projected lineup for ASU for next season and I don't see anyone on their roster to fill his spot at 165 lbs for next season. Unless Teemer moves up. And if that happens then they have nobody to fill Teemer's spot at 157 lbs. So maybe he will return. Guess we will just have to wait and see. P.S. MAYBE they could sign Shane Griffith from the soon to be no-more Stanford program.

  9. He hadn't wrestled all season (other than in practice I would imagine). And if you watched the PAC 12 tournament it was VERY clear that he was not wrestling at the same level he did last season during those PAC 12 matches of his.
  10. Of course you don't see anything about this event which took place last Saturday on the Stanford wrestling webpage.
  11. I would have to disagree that he beat Griffith soundly. He scored six (of his 7) points solely because Griffith foolishly attempted to step over Valencia when Valencia had a whizzer in. That is why Valencia got the six points that led to Griffith's loss. I seriously doubt Griffith will ever make that foolish mistake again. Did Valencia win that match? Absolutely. Did Valencia win it because of something he did...........kind of to some extent.........but mostly because Griffith made a bone-headed move.
  12. No problems whatsoever. I watched the finals on Vidgo - which has all six of the PAC 12 channels. The 2021 PAC 12 wresting finals were on the PAC 12 Oregon Channel last night. Since Oregon State was the host. https://www.vidgo.com/#english|1 Only problem I had is they NEVER - not once - showed the riding time clock on any of the matches. But that had nothing to do with Vidgo.
  13. More like fake news HERE. The Stanford twitter account has not posted anything since July 7th of last year. The Save Stanford Wrestling twitter account has nothing on Real Woods (lately) other than a post which says: Hey @pac12 , it’s about to get Real!
  14. I look forward to hearing the details on this Jason. Thanks for the update. I thought Eischens had a real chance of winning a PAC 12 title at 174 lbs. Shame to read (here) that he's (apparently) been screwed out of a chance to do that.
  15. https://osubeavers.com/sports/wrestling/schedule
  16. And also on the Little Rock wrestling site https://lrtrojans.com/documents/2021/2/25/Pac_12_brackets_updated.pdf
  17. And on the Cal Poly wrestling site as well https://gopoly.com/documents/2021/2/27//Pac_12Brackets2.pdf?id=7388
  18. The exact same updated bracket - showing Elijah "Clever" as Stanford's wrestler at 174 lbs is now on the Stanford wrestling website: https://admin.gostanford.com/documents/2021/2/25/Pac_12_brackets_updated.pdf
  19. At 174 lbs Tyler Eischens is apparently OUT and being replaced by someone named Elijah Clever (according to this updated bracket found on the PAC 12 Wrestling webpage) https://xs.pac-12.com/2021-02/Pac 12 Wrestling Champs brackets updated 2-27-21.pdf The only person on the Stanford roster with a name that is similar is Elijah CLEAVER and he went 1-3 this season at 149 lbs as a True Freshman. I'm GUESSING this is some kind of an error by someone. However this updated bracket does indeed have Stanford's Real Woods at 141 lbs vs. CSUB's Martinoni in the first round.
  20. You're apparently very easily confounded then. How sad for you.
  21. Absolutely NOT..............I didn't see his post here. But we will all have to wait till tomorrow to see if that is IN FACT what has occurred. Also I tried very hard to emphasize that that was "my GUESS"
