Serbia is nice, ............... Croatia is even nicer. They got the coastline which is incredible. Zagreb and Belgrade should both rebuild those old "government housing buildings" as they call them.

Its obvious you have been there because I know exactly where you are talking about.  Why were you there?

  2. Asking a genuine question:  Who here believes Flo makes a profit by covering women's wrestling?  And who believes they operate at a loss in revenue by diverting funds to cover women's wrestling?  Im gonna say its a substantial loss in revenue if you compare the cost to cover the events vs what they bring in solely based on womens wrestling.

So speaking of Iranians and under hooks, I watched a match in the 2016 Olympics between Novachkov and the Iranian Nassiri. And throughout this match the Iranian dug the undertook and Boris just took a step to the side and completely nullified the Iranian’s underhook. And in doing so, the Iranian was left walking into numerous leg attacks by Novachkov. I always thought that this match should be required watching for USA wrestlers and coaches. ( I have no idea if it has been or hasn’t been ), but it was fascinating to watch.

Hes is actually retreating to make space to slide over the underhook.  It started costing him as the Iranian figured out what he was doing and how to time it.  Novachov did a good job at realizing that and switching his tactics to controlling the fingers.  Nice pull that was an interesting match from a tactics point of view

They wanted to be first because they got sued over a Title IX complaint, and this was part of the agreement for rectifying the situation.

Was that the impetus to add or were they already planning on it?  They seem to be fostering a more inclusive culture for the last few years.  You seem tied in with good knowledge of the program

Why not just get the vaccine?  What's the objection?

"Among Kentucky residents infected with SARS-CoV-2 in 2020, vaccination status of those reinfected during May–June 2021 was compared with that of residents who were not reinfected. In this case-control study, being unvaccinated was associated with 2.34 times the odds of reinfection compared with being fully vaccinated."

Something like 99% of hospitalizations and deaths are now among the un-vaccinated.  To focus on those who have been previously infected is a red herring.  About 43 million US citizens have been infected; about 150 million have not been fully vaccinated.  Which is the bigger concern?

Using the Israel study, not the Kentucky, which shows 13 times less likely to be infected.  When addressing a biggest concern, you specifically - how, concerned are you with college wrestlers dying of covid?  In addition, you have 2 studies showing exact opposite results.  What are your specific thoughts on the statement that when it comes to naturally immune vs vaccinated, a nuanced approach is better than a 1 sized fits all hard line response?

So you ARE a science guy? But you just get your news on Facebook?

I have a masters degree in health and I am a teacher.  I have to stay educated on the subject per ed code, and I enjoy researching health topics with an open mind, trying to learn new things or at minimum, stay informed on relative topics that students may have questions about.  Facebook news is slanted, just like CNN, Fox, and Microsoft.  Coming out of those camps, I just disregard it.  Facebook especially.

  8. Natural immunity has scientifically been proven to be anywhere from 13 to 27 times more effective against covid than the vaccine, yet we scream at people who wont take an unnecessary medical injection because they are dangerous, all while not understanding the naturally immune we are screaming at are over ten fold more immune than the ones who got the injection.  Maybe Kennedy already had it and is better equipped against the virus than many people calling him a danger to society or somehow morally corrupt for not going along with the narrative "just let them inject you idiot".  These, btw, are the same people running a slogan "protect the vaccinated from the unvaccinated" and calling for a 4th injection to be safe.  Perspective seems to be a premium the last 6 years

Literally a stop at UNI.  They hired him, got him a house, he left the keys on the table and went to Nebraska. Never coached a day there.

Can you go into more detail on this?  Why on earth would he do that?

A better rock n roll analogy might be multiple x world / Olympic champ Steveson : Steve Albini or Stephen Malkmus :: WWE star Steveson : Dave Grohl.

All three rock n rollers began their careers with similar indie cred. But, Grohl became a gazillionaire clown while the other two made comfortable lives while retaining their dignity.

How is Dave Grohl an indignant clown?

I do not follow the WWE at all and I can certainly accept that many WWE stars use and abuse steroids.  However I cannot understand why you say drug use is required for the WWE.  Gable is certainly already built extremely well and if he continues to train properly by lifting he can get even bigger and more muscular without utilizing steroids or other harmful substances.  It cannot be a contractual requirement to use harmful drugs of any kind in any business.    This is a choice that any WWE performer makes and hopefully Gable will not fall into those bad habits.  Like many here I had hoped that Gable would pursue real wrestling at least through 2024 just because he is so damn good.  Still it is his life and his choice and I wish him all the best.

The drug use isnt to get jacked, its to handle getting beat up 300 days a year.  I can assure you, there are plenty of fat asses in the wwe juicing up to be able to perform a brutal schedule.

  12. I think many NCAA AA's could probably place in the depth we have right now.  I watched wtt in greco and I know I have teammates who could get up off the couch and be an instant contender.  10 years ago no way that happens.  I put up 11 on arguably the best 141lber of all time, and I was ranked maybe 5th or 6th.  I honestly think if half of the AA's showed up to trials, our team would make major improvements in a few years.  Guys coming out of NCAA's are capable of getting medals eventually.  We've done it before.

Sure. But when they left both we’re headed to assistant coaching jobs. No one knew they’d become the most dominant coaches of their eras. Both started at Iowa State and then moved on later. Who would have predicted what they’d become?

Im guessing Gable and Sanderson were predicting it; most likely sure of it
