Tenacity is great but to navigate what that bracket could end up being, he’s going to have to have the technique…and tactics….to get through a number of individuals competing on a world class level, and the defending champ, who has his number. Going to take more than being tenacious.

Nice to be back in the Big 12.  Glad to see they're going to Journeyman Duals and Southern Scuffle again, instead of the South Beach Duals.

At the time Kemp and Brands were wrestling there were 10 Oly weights so 4 of them, I guess, were "less competitive."

Even if it's not a requirement, seems like it might not be a bad idea for Kansas to start one.   Are there any D1 wrestling teams in Kansas?

Moody pretty recently, but once again grasping for straws because you made an easily disprovable claim and proved yourself to be, once again, one of the most classless idiots on this site. The fact that other Mizzou fans feel the need to begin their posts asking not to be associated with you should tell you something.

I need to put it out there that I, and most Mizzou fans, would prefer not to be associated with MizzouGrad.
But in regards to the original topic, two of Jaydin's goals were to win an NCAA title and win a World/Olympic title. Since transferring to Iowa, he did not win an NCAA title in a Yianni-less weight class (losing to someone he had beaten soundly before in Nick Lee), and did not even compete in the Olympic Trials. Obviously his journey is not over yet, but the results haven't materialized so far. Not saying this has anything to do with Iowa, but I think it should be pointed out when people are quick to take the opinion that "Well of course Iowa is going to be a better training situation than Missouri". Obviously it's not just the training situation that matters, but the wrestler most of all.

Elam didn't lack experience against top shelf opponents.  He took 5th at 2020 Senior Nats.  beat Max Dean and Brett Pfarr and outplaced many more AA folk there.

Proud to acknowledge the Mizzou program being so successful at Junior Worlds this past week (in Russia).  Three Mizzou wrestlers competed in the freestyle competition; Colton Hawks, Keegan O'Toole and Rocky Elam.  All three wrestlers will be true sophomores next season.
Colton Hawks wrestled well, but won 1 and lost 1.  Both O'Toole and Elam won Gold sweeping their brackets.
O'Toole was behind on points in the final minute of his quarter and semi final matches.   He won both those matches with cradles/pins giving credit to his extensive folk style training in the US.  It is rumored that his opponents are now researching "what is a cradle" after losing to O'Toole.
These accomplishments are further evidence of the hard work, great coaching, talented wrestlers and great recruiting going on at Mizzou.  I look forward to another successful season coming up soon!
