  1. Where was the Mike Moyer on this? Time for a change. This is unacceptable!!!!
  2. Keep stroking your own ego dude in your rec league. Hall of famer of the rec league, thats great. The only thing the rec league is good for is for transitioning teams. Thats about it. You are pretty funny. You are not part of college wrestling. The only programs that are part of college wrestling are the ones transitioning. Everything else is just part of your glorified rec league. The majority think as I do, but wont say it, for fear of coming off as not supportive, but i dont give a crap. It's a rec league and nothing more
  3. No Mr tough guy. Remove it, or Ill just have the moderator do it. You wouldnt be a tough guy with split open head after getting your worthless a$$ beat.
  4. I never said anything about not mattering. I'm not sure where you got that from. This post was for the organizations I listed. The purpose is to show what schools in those organizations offer wrestling. I have had parents tell me and message me and say that it is informative. The list will be updated once these 3 NJCAA schools decide to publicly announce that they are cutting their programs.
  5. Please remove the the teams from the Ncwa or start your own thread. I didnt list them here for a reason. This list is for schools that have a varsity team and compete in those organizations that I listed.
  6. Trip-Grand Canyon is there, check the bottom of the D I list..... Swayz-Where are you getting the info from? I haven't heard anything like that from their coaches or administration? Care to tell??

  9. You aren't a very bright mind or you have trouble reading. You said wrestling is dying, I say its not dying and I cite evidence. I didnt say nothing was wrong with wrestling, I said it was ok and could be doing better in some aspects, such as having new leadership in the NWCA with Wade Scahlles suggestion. Learn to read, or reason, and have some interesting things to add, or stay off the boards. Making stupid statements like wrestling is dying clearly shows you don't know what you are talking about.
  10. Because the IOC is holding wrestling for ransom means the sport is dying? Wrestling isn't being kicked out of the Olympics due to the sport not being popular or that countries aren't participating. 71 countries represented at the Olympics, 177 countries with wrestling means the sport is dying?? You need to look into things before you make stupid statements about wrestling.
  11. I have been saying this for years, but Wade Schalles makes a great point on his blog.... "Don’t hire wrestlers in executive positions. The challenge we face is wrestling has too much baggage. It’s been doing so many things wrong for so many years that anyone who comes from the sport already carries a pre-conditioned mindset that’s primed for failure. Instead, the sport needs individuals who aren’t encumbered by what has been, but rather what could be. Wrestling needs successful businessmen and if they came with law degrees and MBA’s from prestigious institutions that wouldn’t hurt either. The point I’m trying to make is David Stern stands 5’ 6” and never played basketball, Gary Bettman, the Commissioner of the National Hockey League never skated but during his tenure took the leagues revenues from $400 million to over $3 billion. Bud Selig never played organized baseball. Roger Goodell only played football in high school. These are the types of leaders wrestling needs." Couldn't agree more!!!! Moyer and current leadership need to be replaced by businessmen who will treat this as a business and raise money for new Division I programs, and other divisions as well.....do the right thing Moyer and go. Moyer failed with his national duals at the Division I level. It's his final nail in the coffin.
  12. Well why don't you inform everyone then? Hint: 3 teams perennially winning it all is not fun, nor exciting. The sport is dying and the maniacs behind the wheel are determined to ride it into the ground with lack of vision. I want to know how the sport is dying??? At the youth level, and the high school levels the sport continues to grow. At the college level, NAIA, Division II and III continue to grow, and even the NJCAA has had some growth. Division I is not in crisis, but they need to stop the bleeding. It would be nice to add some teams, but Moyer can't seem to do that as he has with the other divisions.... It seems wrestling is doing OK, certainly not dying, but could be doing better in some aspects.

Not bad. However, what is Moyer doing with the Division I schools?

  15. Now is this going to be only for Division I or will this go in affect for Division II and III also?
  16. My first question is why make it a club team instead of an official NJCAA team. They could have added a mens and womens team and the title IX prob is solved. They are raising all this money for travel, scholarships, etc....why not make it an official team? I doubt they'll take away California kids from Cali jucos unless it was an official team like Clackamas, Highline etc... The school has offered to make the wrestling team an NJCAA team and the team declined. An association with NCWA offers many more options than NJCAA or NCAA. Your comment about being an "official" team is ignorant and insulting. Please feel free to walk into a CSN practice session and tell them they are not "officially" wrestlers. NCWA teams defeat NCAA teams on a regular basis. NCAA addicts are like the battered wife that repeatedly gets punched in the face but continues to come back for more. The intelligent ones simply walk out the door. So the school offered and the coaching staff declined? Really? How stupid are they???? To legitimize the program and have them wrestle with the rest of the national Jucos? And they don't do it? The coaches should be fired immediately. What was the reasoning for doing that? The athletic director should just use his power and make them wrestle in the National Juco. What many more options does the club league offer then the NJCAA or NCAA? Lack of following rules? Lack of regulations? NCAA and NAIA continue to add wrestling programs. Your stupid example of battered wife is ridiculous. You're out of the loop or uniformed.

  18. My understanding is that Mott CC and Marion Military are both VARSITY programs that compete in the National Collegiate Wrestling Association. I am not aware of any recent mention of these programs being club programs. From the Mott website: "Mott Community College is pleased to announce that several administrative changes are being made to further promote the successful "Bears Wrestling" program. MCC Vice-President, Scott Jenkins, and Athletic Director, Tom Healey, have worked to put the wrestling program under the direction of the athletic department. The wrestling team, along with other future programs, will be catagorized as extra-curricular athletics. This move allows for the hiring of a full-time coach, streamlines administrative procedures and ensures the future continuity of the program. Paul Holdren, who started and developed this successful program, will assist in an advisory capacity." When I emailed the AD about 3 months ago and asked if they would be able to participate in the NJCAA national championships he said no because of Title IX. They had to add a womens program also in order to do that. Also, the wrestling program is listed in "extra curricular activities." That doesn't very varsity to me.
  19. Edited with a few new schools who are expected to add wrestling in the 2013-14 season along with the removal of Gordon College from the NJCAA. They are not a varsity team. Good to see Ferrum College (D III) and Bethel University (NAIA) adding programs.
  20. Gordon College in Georgia (NJCCA) is a club team. For some reason the NJCCA website has them, Mott Comm College and Marion Military Institute listed on their site when they are just club teams. Georgia should be listed with 5 college opportunities.
  21. This from the Lindenwood-Belleville coach..... "We are an NAIA school now, but our sports will have a year where we cannot compete in the NAIA national tournament. We can in the 2013-2014 school year"
  22. Lindenwood, Mckendree and Cal Baptist are in their last year of provisional status and if everything remains good, they will be eligible for post season in 2013-14. Shorter comes in 2014-15. Division II continues to grow...
