    Startup Costs

I have been tasked with providing some numbers for the startup of a new high school/middle school program. I've looked at mat options, which is probably the biggest hurdle so far. I know what is needed gear wise etc...but would love to hear from anyone about cost savings that might help convince one way or another.

    Dual Camp in Kansas

We have added several teams, including a Nebraska team. Looking forward to hosting this camp. $45 per wrestler.
  3. The Panther Summer Duals camp will be hosted in Nickerson, Ks. (45 nw of Wichita) June 15th -17th. This camp offers a low cost alternative to the big college dual camps. Wrestlers will sleep on the mats, (bring your sleeping bags, pillows, etc…) learn techniques from some top collegiate coaches and clinicians, and compete in dual meets against other teams. Everyone competes in dual meets, our goal is to wrestle the maximum number of matches possible. Coaches, come and learn the same techniques as your athletes. You coach your own wrestlers in competition. Teams and/or individuals may be combined to make up teams for camp. Individuals are welcome and encouraged. For grades 7-12. The cost of the camp is $45 per wrestler, we will feed them and they can sleep on the mats. I hosted a similar camp two years ago and had over 200 wrestlers in attendance. You can go to a website I put together with all the information. http://pantherdualscamp.simdif.com/index.html
  4. Need some created advice on what works for high school wrestling with our situation. Here is the scenario: 1. Small 4A high school in Kansas, around 300 students enrolled. 2. Students have the option of taking a weights and conditioning class, but it is very limited enrollment, and students are on a block schedule, A/B where we have 1 1/2 hours per day. Some weeks they have the class 3 days, some weeks only 2 days. 3. Our athletes are involved in other sports programs before/after the wrestling season is over with, along with the coaches. The kids have the opportunity to participate in Club wrestling and Freestyle/Greco as well as summer wrestling opportunities. Our wrestlers need to get stronger, but when is the best time to do it with the schedule issues we have? Should we give up some practice time to lift weights. Should they come in before school, or lift after practice. How often should we lift? 2 days a week, 3 days a week, every day? Do you lift on Sundays? How long should the lift be? What part of the season do you do what lifts and what weight/reps? I have implemented many different programs and so I am not a beginner here, but wondering what direction we should go with this. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated?

    Cradle Gear

Ordered our shorts in late December, was told originally February 15th the order would be in, I added a few pairs to the order a week later and the date was moved back to March 2nd. The order arrived today, and somehow the XL, 2X, and the OMG sizes were missing. I was told they were on backorder which has to be a bs excuse. They did comp us some extra youth sizes and an extra small and medium. All throughout the whole process I asked if they could speed up the order, to which I was told the best they could do was keep us informed. This did not happen of course and the only notification I got was an email stating the item had been shipped. When they did arrive, as I said, we were short, the only explanation was in the packing slip and in writing was the letters BO. I figured the company would like to keep repeat business but not from us, not in any manner will we order from them again. By far the worst customer service I have ever had. Is the company too big to take care of it's customers?
