  1. Headed to Montini, all he has to do is call Izzy
  2. Tony Ramos, despite being a 3 time AA and 1X champ, with a win over Oliver during his college career, and freestyle wins over Steiber in the Jr. World trials a few years ago just doesn't seem to get the respect that he might deserve. The kid is a wrestler who is best on his feet where points are really earned in freestyle. With the push out rule guys can't run from his attacking style. I can't say I see any Americans that will out wrestler him at 126 lbs over the next few years, especially if he concentrates on freestyle (maybe Nico or Garrett have a chance). How he does in the Worlds or Olympics (if he makes the team) is yet to be seen.

  4. What if Iowa were to wrestle Gillman at 133 and bump Ramos to 141? How might that change things?
  5. ASU ought be ashamed of their athletic department on all levels. You have to keep your instate recruits at home and as the flagship school in the state they ought compete against all comers. Their efforts to obtain top level coaches and recruits is also lacking. Solid basketball coach with an up and coming program till they sabotage it, a football coach hardly anybody has ever heard of and a team that produces maybe once a decade, and a once proud wrestling program on the brink of elimination that chased off an NCAA championship coach, now coached by a solid guy but lacking recruiting presence. Almost every kid ought be wanting to come to AZ. The campuses and atmosphere in State College, Stillwater, Minneapolis, and Iowa City offer little when compared to ASU. They have solid academics which are climbing the ranking ladders. Just a little emphasis on athletics and ASU would be a preferred location for many top level college athletes. I may be biased being an ASU Grad (class of 1983), having a son that graduated from there (summa cum laude, class of 2012) and another son currently attending. I am just saddened by the state of the athletic department and the problems they have incurred over the years.
  6. I seem to remember him putting David Taylor to his back in the Fargo finals and the whole place jumping up.
