  1. Anybody think Edinboro would of had a chance at a Top 10 FInish this season if Flynn and his recruits stayed? A number of guys who transferred have qualified. Just off the top of my head: Korbin Myers, Pat Lugo, Dakota Geer and Billy Miller all qualified for there new schools.

  2. Not sure if this has been posted or not, but Parry is 150% all about Lacrosse.

From Laxmagazine.com: Parry has an extensive lacrosse background, having played the sport while in college at Brown, having hired Dom Starsia as Brown coach in 1983 when Parry was athletic director there and having been Butler AD when that lacrosse program started in 1993 (The program was cancelled by his successor in 2007.) Parry's wife is currently the assistant women's coach at Baldwin-Wallace, a Division III team in Ohio, and Parry has had two stints on the NCAA men's lacrosse committee

  4. I had one of Flemings teammates show me this turn because I was curious about it. All the pressure is on your jaw. It feels like your jaw bone is going to explode from the pressure. Check the 3:52 mark. You can clearly see that Flemings lock is on the jaw bone and the airway is not obstructed. As soon as James applies pressure to the jaw the kid starts to try to tap out. I was told the key to it is to keep your forearm along the jaw line.

It gets stopped in this match, but you can clearly see again the lock is on the jaw. 2:39 & 4;50 marks. The 4:50 mark is probably one of the best views of the lock you will find.

  5. Valid points. The top Pa juniors do not participate in Fargo anymore either so they are skipping the duels and Fargo. The kids may have an opinion on where they want to compete but the club coaches make or at least heavily influence the schedule. If the club coaches schedule and more importantly promote FS and GR (duels and Fargo) then the kids will generally follows heir advice. Disney is a great event and I a sure the kids have some fun off the mat but at the end of the day, most serious kids want to compete against the best and a gym is a gym and a mat is a mat.

I would like to see a journalist covering Disney ask a few questions to the coaches of the club teams from the states that are not represented well at Fargo. Why Disney as opposed to participating in Fargo. There has to be a valid reason. Fargo is far more prestigious. You always read when a kid was a Fargo AA or champ. By contrast, you never read that a top ranked kid went 7-0 at Disney.

Listen, I know it seems logical that all top kids would want to compete in Jr Duals/Fargo but when the state association is in complete control of the event -- roster, training, cost, coaching, travel, etc -- in some states the process doesn't justify making it a priority. I think a few people have tried to explain this nicely, including myself.

If you have a bad situation in a club, you can just move to another club that meets your needs. If you have a bad state system for Jr Duals/Fargo, there aren't a lot of options unless you considering moving out of state one of them.

This is PA in a nutshell. Sounds like California is having the same issues. Club coaches are tired of playing the games with the sanctioning body. They arent going to suggest to their athletes to wrestle in Jr Duals when

A: They think the sanctioning body is charging way to much money.(Club coaches put togethor trips all the time, they know the cost of lodging, transportation, gear and entry fee's)

B:The sanctioning body does nothing to help themselves.(Holding tournaments on one side of the state)

C: Suggestions have been made on improving things as a whole and nothing is done.

Club coaches will take their kids and go else where.

  6. What are the chances he plugs some holes at Clarion or ends up at Pitt?

I highly doubt he heads to Clarion, especially the way everyone else is running out of their. Pitt could use a 125 for this season as I believe their only options at #125 are both true freshman.

My guess is he is headed to Pitt or Arizona, but we will have to wait and see.

  7. Great weekend of wrestling! Before I start this let me just say, Yes I know its memorial day weekend and yes I realize there was 60 mats on Sat/Sun. My only complaint/gripe is using "College Rules" (Except for riding time) and having officials clueless to actual college rules. Maybe they need to run a rules clinic for the officials on Friday morning or something, also it was more then one official. Witnessed a kid winning a match 7-3 to start the 3rd period. Got reversed to his back and gave up 4pts. Lost the match 5-7?!?! The match should have been going to OT. Never before have I seen a wrestler lose pts during a match. PA teams looked tough in the High School division.
