Your favorite wrestler who never won it all

Brandon Slay and Yoshi Nakamura. Brian Snyder and Yoshi both lost to Becker in the semis and finals when he got the choice and took bottom. Terrible ot rules back then. He ran from Yoshi who beat him during the season and he got the first takedown off a Snyder shot giving him choice. Snyder chased him all over the mat.

    Most Important Wrestling Organization?

USWF. UNITED STATES WRESTLING FOUNDATION. Many people are not familiar with them but they raise a lot of money and have been instrumental in helping start many of the new programs recently. Jeff Waters is the president and the board is filled with many of our greatest wrestlers and coaches.

    State titles from multiple states

Eric Devos won in Minnesota twice and Iowa. Lost to Clark in the finals his senior year. Started out at Penn projecting at 125 then back to Univ of Iowa finally landing at Wartburg where he won a national title at 174. Kid got bigger.

Who won the OW award at NCAAs?

Retherford the OW and Nickal the pins. Personally I give the OW TO Nickal. 3 pins and beats Dean a two time champ.

How many NCAAs have you attended

This will be approximately my 30th tournament. I wrestled at Maryland in 1972 and at Princeton 1975.
  7. 12 seed Casey Kent NCAA 4th gets Jadean Bernstein former EIWA champ who he just beat 1-0 in the 3rd place match.

    Jordan v hall....who you got

I don't understand why everyone thinks Hall needs to learn to get out from the bottom on Jordan. I saw Donnie Pritzlaff wrestle Joe Heskett three times, 2 NCAA finals and an All-Star match and Pritzlaff never took down and won all 3. If Hall believes he can beat Jordan on his feet I'd say take neutral.
  10. CJ Cobb needs to be there somewhere at 1:49. He beat Sorenson at the nationals last year and also beat Clagon in a dual meet. Lost to Villalonga in the qtrs who he also beat in the dual. Thomas at 184 also missing. 6th 2 years ago beat Avery, Zillmer at Midlands to take 2nd and beat McCutcheon. Probably gave Dean his toughest match at Easterns.

My WAAAY too early DI 2015 predictions!

We will definitely see Brown from Lehigh on the podium at 184. He is very tough and had a strong redshirt season.

NY vs. NJ Pinning Down Autism All-State Dual..Live

VSNEJ you nailed your quote. As a former Quaker wrestler and big Penn follower that was Roger Reina's favorite quote. It doesn't matter what "on paper" says, it's what happens on the mat that counts. While I'm not familiar with these wrestlers, I don't follow the high school scene much, I applaud them for putting it on the line for such a worthy cause. We should commend them and be happy they chose to compete without busying ourselves with whose credentials should be superior.

One of (IMO) the funnier moments of the finals...

Two funny Ficker moments for me. One was hearing a huge section shouting his famous slogan Headlock Sheptock. It took us a moment to realize it was the Minnesota fans. Two: I was heading into the fan festival before the finals and Ficker was walking with 3 or 4 kids around 10-14 and he was exhorting them to not wimp out during the finals and to really be vocal in their support of Sheptock. No idea who the kids were but it was very funny to watch. We had the displeasure to have Ficker at Penn for a match 2 seasons ago and I could never take that for long. I give the Maryland kids kudos for putting up with that.
