Dad (Jim) is a world medalist and led Indiana University to much success in the 1980s before heading into the business world.  Some say he was the architect of the Kendall Cross win over Terry Brands.

Jordin is Reece's older brother by, I think , three years.  Jordin was very, very good in high school and had some success in college- obviously his brother was on a different level, but the whole family is incredibly tough.

In the early 1980s I had a pair of red and white VANS wrestling shoes that fell apart in about three weeks.  My mom was pissed and I went back to the mesh Tigers.  Loved those shoes.

Sadulaev has one of the most efficient styles ever. No wasted bouncing around and half shots. All his movements have a purpose. I'm reading comments that "Snyder did all the work" and I'm wondering what bout they were watching. The goal is not to work but to score, and Sadulaev clearly won that battle.  And Snyder shoots low single twice and gives up two both times; shoots high crotch once and scores (granted, Sads was up comfortably by that point).  Superior tactics and strategy are hard to beat.

Of course these guys are incredible wrestlers and can do things most humans could never think of doing. That said, after all of the subtle back-and-forth in the match, I was surprised to see that DT got the takedown with Yazdani caught on his heels with a straight shot double leg right to his butt. Nothing super fancy; nothing incredibly awe-inspiring; just a textbook double leg to the opponent's butt. Its simplicity was a thing of beauty.

Both of his pushouts came of his left side underhook.  That's kind of his thing.  Taylor did amazing pretty much shutting it down.

In the spirit of the Olympic Games I just want to float this concept out there:
It is possible for an American wrestler to lose not because of PEDs, corrupt refs, predetermined brackets, and falsified birth certificates.  Sometimes other wrestlers are really, really good too.
That being said Looking forward to these semifinal in five minutes.

Uguev did test positive for a serious clutch gene and a really dirty inside trip in his last match.

when did he disrespect other sports/activities??  Talk about someone's undies in a bunch...guy gave his opinion and even said multiple times that his opinion isn't a reflection of how hard/difficult/entertaining/exciting/etc. the activity is he thinks is or isn't a sport.  I certainly don't agree with all his criteria in terms of what I think is a sport and what isn't, but it's my opinion and he is entitled to his.  I consider sports sports that you actually have to compete directly against someone else.  Doesn't take ANYTHING away from something like gymnastics, which is my second most favorite sport/activity.  Plus, the skill, strength and athleticism it takes to do gymnastics is absolutely amazing.  Anyway, good discussion...thanks badgermon

No problem.  My ideas are far from universal law.  Go ahead and smash your little white  ball in a glorified version of croquet and prance down your manicured lawns and golf cart paths.  Never stop pretending you are indeed an athlete.  As you say, that fact cannot be questioned.  Cheers.

On a side note, these male gymnasts going right now are absolutely incredible athletes. We should teach them some Greco.
