Same here - we know quite a number of people who had it, and a few who have died from it, including our family doctor.

I'm beginning to wonder if I had it myself in mid-February.  I had what I first assumed was a mild flu, but it had a wicked sort of 2nd phase after the fever was already gone and I thought I was recovering.  At that time there were no known cases in NY or NJ, and I had not travelled at all, so I really did not think it was Covid (and when I tried to research the symptoms, the published list at the time was laughably short and generic).  But when I did return to work, walking up the stairs at the subway had me seriously sucking wind - it felt like 3rd period in a match, first week of wrestling season.

I think I've already had COVID 19. I flew a few months back and there were stops in Dallas coming and going. Big airport, and I think I might've gotten exposed. The reason I say that is I didn't get a flu shot this year and got the flu. I recovered after a week or two, then a week or so after that I was sick again, very similar to the flu. Except I didn't get the ****s and sweat a lot, which always happens when I get the flu. Instead I coughed a fair amount, and coughed up lots of crap. Similar, but different from the flu. A few weeks after I thought "I might've already had COVID".

The NFHS (governing body for high school sports) has released their return to play plan. For what it's worth, wrestling and football are both in the "high risk" category. On one hand, you never like being labeled high risk, but on the other hand, it's nice to be tethered to football, especially considering our season is much later.

    Here's the link:

Wrestling I believe, not football. Football brings in too much money.

  3. I'd rather be a 1 time champ than a 4 time finalist. Think of your mindset: if you are a 4 time finalist you probably regard yourself as something of a failure, having come so close and never making it. If you are a 1 time champ, ideally your last year, your last memories of college wrestling will be knowing what it's like to go out on top.

    No comparison, from an ego-standpoint.

I guess my reading comprehension has not that advanced either...

Making the predictive yearly flu vaccine before they know and how many different strains  of flu virus there will be and which will be the most virulent seems like a lot more of a crapshoot than focusing on a single known virus

Seems more like an "educated guess" than a crapshoot, to me. Most of the time they get it right.

I just recently watched a documentary about SW and they talked about how Vader in the original trilogy was supposed to be absolutely terrifying and how they kind of lost that because of Ep. 2 and 3 and that whiney twit they cast. So in rogue one, when Vader comes out and just starts murdering people it was supposed to invoke that fear again. I’ll try to find the documentary name. It was really good.

Also the guy who wore the Vader suit in the original movies, David Prowse, thought that his voice would be in the movies, not James Earl Jones. But Prowse has a weird cockney type accent or something and they recorded over all his lines. Supposedly to this day Lucas hates Prowse for some stuff Prowse said about the movie.

He was losing it at the end.  Went off on me about something that was a little ridiculous.

Hey man, who knows what was going on in his life. Yeah, I remember he seemed to be getting more stressed. He had strong opinions and would argue ad finitum with guys. Hope he's doing alright, he was a decent guy.

Was Cletus Tucker a real person? I remember there was an RIP Cletus posting but ppl weren’t sure if it was an actual passing or if it was the retirement of an online persona.

Cletus was a different alias of a guy who was banned (or something) as i recall. He might still be here posting under a different name,  That's an interesting topic in it's own right, different aliases on the same site.

As you know, none of the UCs sponsor NCAA wrestling.

The CA State schools (CSUB, Poly, Fresno, SF) better find mandatory physical attendance labs for their wrestlers so they can be on campus and in the room(s) beginning in August, otherwise the season(s) could be in serious jeopardy.

Won't happen. Wrestling is a lot higher priority to the guys in the forum than the guys calling the shots in California.

This is the best answer imo.  The reality is, what's best for any particular individual is going to be different per individual, and really best known to themselves and their "team". Just because Daton Fix took a redshirt doesn't mean its best for Spencer Lee to, and just because Kyle Snyder did a hybrid doesn't mean its best for Yianni....

Good point. A guy may need a little more seasoning wrestling high level opponents. Maybe is game is pretty good but he needs to work on his feet, wrestling the college season let's him get in a little needed work.
