  1. Otis, I do agree with all of those suggestions and believe yes, those would be GREAT moves to make.
  2. The last thin wrestling, at the youth and HS levels or even college needs to do, is change for pleasing the IOC. That would be the worst move ever. The IOC doesn't care about youth, HS and college wrestling and frankly, it's not their job. Also, it's not the job of youth, HS and college wrestling to support Olympic style wrestling.
  3. How many kids wrestle as youth and in high school and focus on everything but wrestling when they are done? More than any that think about the Olympics. The theory that our youth all aspire to be Olympians is asinine. Most youth just want to go get pizza after a match or tournament. Some HS kids don't even care about the sport that much and focus on getting wasted and scoring with chics after the game. There are PLENTY of role models out there they can follow and do follow. And, I would bet 90 percent of all HS wrestlers couldn't tell you more than two members of the last Olympic wrestling team. Guaranteed. But I bet you they could tell you about 5 MMA fighters they like.
  4. Enrico Palazzo was an outstanding wrestler before he turned his attention full-time to playing the piano. His skills were unmatched and his strong hands made him lightning quick!
  5. I listened and liked what he had to say about FILA and USA Wrestling. He also made some good comments on Greco and how boring it is. He also pointed out that cutting Olympic wrestling will have no effect on college, high school or youth programs. Only 15 wrestlers qualify for the Olympics, hundreds of thousands will continue to compete at the youth level. Not every wrestler wants to be an Olympic wrestler or even a college wrestler. So now they will have to focus on being World champions. I sure hope OIympic wrestling is saved and believe it will be, but Koll's comments regarding the sport, FILA, USA Wrestling and Greco were spot on. The sport needs more people like Koll.
  6. Been hearing this hype for past 5 years. Nothing.
  7. Yeah, from what I hear Mason's career kind of "went up in smoke".
  8. How long will Rutgers fans keep making excuses for their failures to live up to the hype of the new era?
  9. Wondering where the "Evil" aspect comes from... Would love to know. Figure of speech. Any rival can be called the evil empire. The Yankees are a rival, people call them evil. Themat is a rival of TOM and FLO. That's all. But I suppose the fact that TOM is ultra-sensitive to everything said about them and even has a forum thread bashing what other sites may do or have done on their site could be construed as a reason why one would use the word "evil", as in "the hated rival" although hate is a strong word but goes with the flow (not FLO) of the statement. Hopefully with a new person leading the way that will change. But a rivalry is good. I was just cruous, although half your statement (I know you meant it as a shot) that we are ultra-sensative, I could you use some help with. So if we defend or discuss things outside our own forum we are the "ultra-sensative"? Interesting perspective.I know full well you were around here when it all went south. The blow up is what gave rise to the TOM forum in the first place. Nobody new is leading the way, Jason is joining the team yes but sorry you will still be stuck with myself and Ray. Viratas. Actually what was said was based more towards someone who is no longer at your site, so I think everything will be on the up and up now as what's left seems to be the best part of what was at the site in the first place as well as the solid new addition. If you can read what I am saying.

  11. Too bad about South Carolina, I heard they were making a strong push for upcoming national tournaments.
  12. As I was perusing the other site forum (TOM/AWN), I read that Jason Bryant now works for The Open Mat? I am confused? Is that true? Say it isn't so? What gives?
