If I'm reading correctly they're not actually paid in bitcoin, they're paid in something called "RAE Tokens" which it looks like were basically created by Rokfin/Floreani?

Zero difference in Colon/Downey's situation. In both instances, the #2 guy is the #2 guy and in line to replaced the #1. The only difference is the credentials surrounding the #1 guy.
And because you and others might not pay attention to Greco, that means those situations aren't valid? No, they're valid, factual and supporting the argument against your position that we need to change the rules to prevent a guy from being on the team.

With a sport like wrestling, there will always be situations where people want a case by case approach. Final X originated from people saying it wasn't fair that a guy could sit the whole day and then wrestle two matches fresh. US Open winners started to get a bye to Final X if they won and the weight wasn't occupied by a previous world medalists. IMO the process changes too much. I think it should go back to being the trials is how you qualify, take away Final X and take away the bye to the finals. I know it is for more reasons then just the bye with some guys but it isn't good for our sport to only see some of our best guys wrestle 2 matches on US Soil, maybe 3 with BTS.

I will agree with half of this. I agree that you can't just "add" two points that weren't there. The score is the score on the board. At the same time, I disagree that you are so confidently predicting the dynamic of the match changed. By saying that you are doing the same thing those who saying "Nolf lost" are doing.
If Hidley gets that takedown I am not convinced Nolf turns it into a different gear and rattles off three takedowns. If he could have done that, he would have because that is what he does. Give a lot of credit to Hidley in that match. I think that was one of those "I'm putting every ounce of blood sweat and tears" into this match. Even if they had wrestled again the next day, the match most likely been much different. It is disrespectful to Hidley and the competitor he is to assume Nolf would have found another gear if he was losing. Mainly, because the Nolf we all watch finds that gear regardless.

Did't Nolf score off of Hidlay's attack? Hidlay likely doesn't go for that same shot with a 2-0 lead. Nothing leads me to believe Nolf was going to be able to create his own offense when down against Hidlay in that match.

Not taking anything away from Zain as he still made the team, but overall 65KG is one of our weaker weights and JO was not there that particular year. Also, the key word there with Kennedy is "in college." Kennedy graduated in 2011 at 141 lbs. When he competed against Nolf at 70 KG it was 6 years later. Putting on 13 lbs in 6 years is pretty realistic. That is like saying someone who loses to Taylor at 86kg lost to a 157 guy in college. Taylor grew and so do other people. Overall I think it would be a heck of a match up.

I disagree Tbar. Flo guys are the most engaged of all the other sites. They have a finger on the pulse of the sport. I don't see that from intermat. Flo guys see more live D1 wrestling than anyone. I don't see them being corrupted by a seeding process.

As smart as Willie, CP, Nomad and Bratke are, there is very little they can do to improve the quality of the wrestling streams.

I don't know how to succinctly explain what's going on to improve the streaming but a lot of really smart people are working really hard on the issue all the time. I wish the streams were perfect all the time too, (as do Willie, CP, Nomad, Bratke, et al). We all are incredibly bummed when things go wrong. As the company grows we'll be able to invest more money and people power into making them even better. Sorry if this sounds like the canned response of a shill, but I hope you believe me anyway!

Flo did not produce the video for the Big Ten Championship and did not control the camera operators. That was BTN. We received the complaints and told our production partners but nothing got through. So eventually I think Bader just ended up walking around and taping camera guys on the shoulder.

In the same context, starting x-number of threads every time a new person is upset with something Flo does, doesn't do any favors in my opinion either. I think the opportunity used to be there, but it has unfortunately turned into threads and posts calling out Flo in a very negative way, or calling out the Flo guys in a very negative way. Most of what I see goes right past constructive criticism and straight to name calling. Do we really expect the people at Flo to take things seriously when there is a lack of professionalism? Or is it more that a poster wants their two-cents on how they disagree with what Flo is doing? Some people still give professional, constructive feedback but it gets lost in the overwhelming negative based posts.

I think what helps Brands case to stay is that PSU is one team dominating everyone. I wasn't really following the sport back when Z was at the healm, but there was more parity at the top it seems. I understand the Hawks are frustrated because they think something from twenty years ago should still be attainable, but should every team fire their head coach? Nobody has beat PSU minus tOSU one year (a year many say PSU "punted"). Sure, some teams have been close, Minnesota, OkState, tOSU but close only counts in horseshoes. At the end of the day you have to ask yourself who is available that is also willing. Lou Rosselli was considered the best next to Cunningham, and where has Oklahoma been since he got there?

No problem with this in theory, but it needs to apply to all duckers equally. Guys like Sam Stoll and Spencer Lee have to come into play.

The incidents last year definitely have not helped his reputation, but I don’t think that caused the suspension. I think it was the 3-4 duals in a row with not only some antics but actually losing a team point. Now, you could say that this years antics and last year are just part of his personality. It very well could be that it was there the whole time, his struggle to maintain composure. Last year, his biggest spotlight was NCAAs where some big issues took place. This year he is at IA where they are always in the spotlight, on Flo, and etc. Maybe he just plays into the atmosphere too much.

LJB, since one of your main points was hypotheticals on how people would have responded had it been reversed, I’ll play along.
If it had got out of hand, no pun intended, and Berger and DeSanto start brawling, should Manning just watch them duke it out because it might involve him putting his hands on DeSanto to get them off each other? These coaches are responsible for teaching these kids how to be adults, and preparing them for the real world. Sometimes that means a coach may have to do what Manning did and separate two hot head guys who were jawing. Had one of the Brands or M* been there I’m sure they would have stepped in and did the same thing. It’s you who are acting like Manning pushed him down or pushed him across the mat. From the video I don’t see anything wrong with what Manning did.

Very cool.  I love the experts on here.
I only taught film for many years on several continents; but what do I know.
Maybe it's because of the fact that I have watched Dake since he was a wee little one... it struck a chord.
I just wonder if ANY of the critics on here have EVER, even remotely tried or successfully created a documentary, or even... an "interview".  Pretty positive that in a big NO!!!
Remember, today's critiques are tomorrow's fish wrappings.
Keep up the good work Flo.  And to all the critics, please send us your documentaries.  We would love to see them.

Dake's dominance over Taylor was pretty well displayed and obvious in the film. Taylor attributes his success due to Dake always beating him. He talks about how frustrating it was and even talks about which loss upset him the most. Also go back and watch their drilling sessions through out the entire film. Dake wins all of the positions in every drill/go. Unless you want the film to have Taylor bow down to Dake and degrade himself and proclaim "you are my master. You own me" Its pretty clear Taylor was dominated by Dake.
The film focused on their friendship from their youth into their adult lives with a fairy tale ending of them both winning worlds. Talking about 2020 directly would have likely disrupted the narrative being told.
