  1. That is one of the main reasons I post here :D
  2. I love how stating an improved defending National Champ Steiber (how scary is that to say), who has beaten Ramos 3 times already btw, winning by 6 is "ignorant".... But saying because Ramos has a chip on his shoulder and has been so focused on Steiber since last year he can/will win is ....what? Smart, logical? Come on - not so much. Don't misunderstand what I am saying. Ramos could pull off an upset, sure. It happens all the time at this level. But to call predicting Steiber by 6 "ignorant" and in the same breathe state that a down to the wire match/Ramos win will happen simply because Ramos trains hard (as if Steiber doesn't, as Buckeye said) and doesn't like Steiber - that just sounds silly. One prediction here is based on actual results and observation between the two wrestlers, while the other is based on (???) a hunch, or maybe some "hawk magic"...or the plot of any underdog sports movie ever
  3. Come on. I like DSJ as much as the next guy...I even think he wins his title this year...but Dake or Taylor he aint. I don't see him being able to beat either of these guys...keep it close (in the score) maybe...but beat them no way....and im not sure how you can think he can compete with either Dake or Taylor, then tak on "perhaps Welch as well"...huh!!?
  4. Literally 0 chance this happens, none at all. But theoretically, yes I think people would (and should) think less of him. Only because of the circumstances. There is no possible way to explain this move were it to occur. It actually hurts the team most likely. Good thing there is no way this happens.
  5. Absolutely, I think both sides are looking strategically at the big picture here - which is what makes the whole storyline so great! BTW, PA-Fan - I'm not understanding exactly the intent of your sig line - are you trying to say that Dake is the #1 technician? ;) :P Not quite...more like I lost the sig-bet and "technically" Dake is #1....although I am still betting on Taylor!! Come to think of it, given what his Vegas odds will look like come March, I think he will actually be the best (by which I mean most-profitable) bet in the field!
  6. I actually like the headgear Dake wears. I wore the same one for the last two years I competed and it never broke once.
  7. He did it twice lol. This was in no way a stall-tactic for a breather. Both "breaks" combined lasted about 7 seconds...Nothing wrong happening there.
  8. It is strange, and I have noticed this as well. In all honesty though, the Taylor/Sanderson camp may know exactly what they are doing in this regard.. It is not at all outside the realm of possibility that Taylor was approaching the Scuffle match with a different mindset than we'd think, using it more as a stepping stone for March than a "throw everything I have to try to win" - i.e try to beat Dake on the mat, and reserve his arsenal on his feet for March? And like we all saw, shockingly enough, he damn near succeeded at just that. On the flipside though, almost the same can be said for Dake...it took him all of about 1.7 seconds in match #2 (as opposed to the All-Star) to take a shot and almost finish. Truth be told, I think both are reserving a little something for March, and come that time it will all be hanging out there. It is crystal clear that Dake is no slouch on his feet though, so this strategy could come back to haunt. If you lose that first td to Dake, you damn well better escape quickly and not get ridden out!
  9. You also predicted he would get beat worse / get pinned this time. Just stop it already, you predictions/analysis/whatever you'd like to call it is less than meaningless. Every single match between these two is a toss-up, plain and simple. Taylor vs. Dake on the risen stage in March will be one of the most anticipated matches in recent history...and if they keep upping the intensity/excitment each time they meet - it may actually be the most exciting match in history. Lets just enjoy it (and hope Taylor can finally turn that corner :D )
  10. No, it doesn't. Because he is not making a comment on the fact that Dake has beaten tougher opponents than Taylor in college, which he has (although not quite as tough as some would like to make it seem, but that is nit picking a bit)...he is deliberately putting down Taylor stating he can not win "these types of matches". Look at the kids career, entire career...that statement is complete and total nonsense. Another fun side note, remember a few weeks ago when Tyler Caldwell was being considered on Taylor/Dake's level (he beat Howe right?)....well Taylor just destroyed him. So does this count, or no? Does Caldwell beating Howe not mean much because Taylor destroyed him (like I actually argued in the first place)... I would agree with you that Taylor has the potential, the Caldwell match was an impressive win for sure. My point was not so much that DT couldn't do it, just that he hasn't to date. I will be interested to see DT vs Howe if they end up at the same weight next year, because honestly DT impresses me more than Andrew Howe does. On a side note, wasn't Howe injured when Caldwell beat him in the semi's?? Yes he was, and that was my point weeks ago when people wanted to put him as having a legit shot to win 165 this year....he doesn't. And I know what you are saying...I was just pointing out that is not the same thing Hammerlock was saying. He was just being an ignorant d-bag.
  11. No, no, no. Ill just repeat it one more time. At no point, ever, have I stated any of the things I have listed there which you have repeatedly claimed I have. Again, I invited you to quote me saying anything even close to the things you claim I have: - "Bragging that Taylor would really get KD" - "throwing it in our faces that DT will get him in folk" - This W for Dake (or L for Taylor) "not counting" - "Dake can never beat Taylor" - Etc The fact is you are attacking me (and FT) directly for some things you may (or may not have) seen others say. It's simple, stop doing it, especially after I point out to you multiple times that I have done nothing close to what you are saying I did... you look foolish.
  12. So you are not going to back up your ridiculous statement? Just assert things (for example I know nothing about the rules), and not answer me when I ask you to point out what I said contrary to the rules? If you are going to be a contentious dick in arguments, at least do it with some integrity and intellectual honesty... Make it easy. Go to the multiple threads with pics showing the ref got it right and then come back on and apologize to everyone Maybe you should make it easy, and just stick to this thread, and respond to what I am actually saying here. I said the controversy was about establishing "control" and not "3-points on the mat"...like Hammerlock asserted earlier. Like I stated directly to him, and I'll repeat for you, I said nothing contrary to the rules.
  13. I really really don't think anyone is getting carried away. If Ruth doesn't lose again (quite possible) then you can say he only has 2 more losses than Cael. BUT something big is missing in that statement. It is not as if Cael has 3 losses to Ruth's 5 (or someting similar). Cael had ZERO. He did not lose at all, while wrestling tougher competition. I am a Ruth fan, believe me, but I think this match would be just like almost all Cael matches...he controls it and wins it, period.
  14. Gotta agree with Vak. Ruth is an absolute monster....but Cael would be the thing that monsters check under the bed for at night before going to sleep... Cael never loses to Ruth.
  15. No, it doesn't. 16. What an idiotic and ignorant post. You are talking about a kid who has sought out the best competition - and had "these type of wins" - his entire career. The fact that he lost to two (only two, both NCAA champions and one will be considered one of the best EVER) wrestlers in his college career does not knock him down a peg and show that he can not get "these type of wins". Sincerely, such an idiotic, ridiculous, ill-mannered, moronic, ignorant, malicious post.
  17. Did I misread something? Not seeing what is the issue you are picking at in PA-fans post. Hahaha don't bother nom, this guy is a nut job. Check out his thread from after the All Star calling out me and FT, for things neither of us ever said. After a longgg string of trying to explain to this moron that he is, in fact, a moron who makes not the slightest bit of sense, he hasn't had a single post (until now) after I wrote this to him: Are you just going to continue to accuse me of saying things I have never said, even when I give you direct quotes showing you what I actually said in contrast to your accusations? Please show me when/where I said anything like: - "Bragging that Taylor would really get KD" - "throwing it in our faces that DT will get him in folk" - Or any of the other nonsense you are accusing me of. You can't just assert that I said all these things when I, in fact, didn't. I suppose I can now add to this list of things I never said that this nut claims I did...something about this W for Dake not counting because of bad calls....and Dake can never beat Taylor...etc..etc...etc This guy is on par with Marty with the nonsensicalness (I had to make up a word to accurately reflect my feelings) of his posts.
  18. I am and always will be on Taylor's side in this match up...but Kyle Dake is the man, not question about it! I love his attitude towards pretty much everything. The kid is a winner and he has the perfect balance of confidence and cockiness IMO...hysterical!
  19. Anybody want to let me know how to make a sig!!
  20. So you are not going to back up your ridiculous statement? Just assert things (for example I know nothing about the rules), and not answer me when I ask you to point out what I said contrary to the rules? If you are going to be a contentious dick in arguments, at least do it with some integrity and intellectual honesty...
  21. Please point out specifically what I said that is contrary to the rules...
  22. 3-points on the mat isnt the issue at all...I also havent seen anybody claiming it is, so stop setting up straw men. "Control" is the issue. Sure didnt seem anything like control for Dake on the first watch...then it was very close to out of bounds...then on top of that all they say Dake maintained control at the end? I disagree...and I think a majority of others would as well. It wasn't a scheme or plot or some pro-cornell / anti-psu situation...just two borderline-at-best calls for Dake in the last seconds of the match...which enabled him to win.
  23. A bet is a bet. Ill stick to it. Just be on record saying that the reversal call was nonsense.... How do I make a sig line? :D
