This was explained clearly. Since there's more interest in why posts that aren't related to the topic were hidden - because they didn't pertain to the topic - than the actual topic, it's safe to say we can lock this up.

This is exactly what happened.

The thread was hijacked by 24 posts unrelated to the topic. That tangential conversation can happen via DM/PM.

No one reported it. A four-page thread about USAW and Flo bears reading. We lock up a thread that's losing its relevance. We clean up a thread that's going off the rails and keep it open. Moderation will get criticized either way. Thread is still open. Keep it that way.

Keep discussion on topic.

Keep it related to sports and its impact on wrestling. Only warning.

Pretty sure we know how to make 10 posters go away ... don't tempt us.

There is a possibility the software has an anti-spam setting that keeps accounts with under a set number of posts from posting more than x-amount of links. I'll have to ask around, since I'm pretty new around here.

Just use the tools the forum has, there is no board policy about links to other forums, just format the links correctly when posting. Spamming boards, for example or spamming outside things are against board policy.

Personal attacks will shut this down quickly. Only warning. Shouldn't have to ask adults continually to keep things on topic, but we might have to put some of you on time out, like children, because you are acting even worse than children.

You were warned. This is why we can't have nice things. Thread locked. Argue these political blame game on your Facebook pages. Trade info in your DMs.

The thread was removed because it deteriorated into personal spats and away from the extremely relevant and important topic. Keep the discussion on topic, it won't get reported (and subsequently removed).

Abusing the Reporting System will also not be tolerated. Example: Reporting posts about others posting non-wrestling political topics or derailing threads and then engaging in that same behavior will not have the desired effect.
