  2. NCAA just released their update of "Most Dominant Wrestler" Standings. Not sure why Spencer isn't listed ? Match minimum ? I calculate a 5.0 for him in 13 matches. NK NAME SCHOOL WEIGHT AVG. TEAM POINTS 1 Zahid Valencia Arizona St. 184 4.89 2 Nick Lee Penn St. 141 4.88 3 Pat Glory Princeton 125 4.74 4 Mark Hall Penn St. 174 4.72 5 Mason Parris Michigan 285 4.41 6 Shane Griffith Stanford 165 4.29 7 Kollin Moore Ohio St. 197 4.27 8 Noah Adams West Virginia 197 4.25 9 Ryan Deakin Northwestern 157 4.20 9 Tanner Cook South Dakota St. 165 4.20
  3. My exact thoughts while watching Zahid gas and hold on to a 14-10 win. Going into last weekend, I favored Zahid to win the Hodge. After the weekend, I now favor Spencer (despite his 8-1 win).

    WrestlingByPirate has them Ranked as follows : 1. Lugo – Iowa 2. O’Connor – North Carolina 3. Sasso – Ohio St. 4. Degen – Iowa St. 5. Lewallen – Oklahoma St. 6. Mauller – Missouri 7. Alirez – Northern Colorado 8. Lee – Minnesota 9. Thomsen – Northern Iowa 10. Storr – Michigan 11. Kolodzik - Princeton 12. Purinton – Nebraska I will post Intermat tomorrow.
  6. Just got back from the Dual. ASU has a great upper 5 weights. Wisman wrested Zahid tough. This match hurts his Hodge bid. Huge win for Koelling over Norfleet. And Hart looks like he finally has his cut under control. Good dual. ASU is obviously a better Tourney team.
  7. Thank you. Just watched it. Good dual. 141 - I thought Sherman would be more competitive vs Wilson. 165 - Disappointed to not get Monday vs T. Bullard. Both Hidlay brothers impressive. 197 - Reenan is obviously not the same wrestler as he was pre-injury.

Agreed. This would make me very happy. I was hopeful that Missouri would join the Big 12 a few years ago when rumors were circulating. Not sure what kept that from happening ? Being in the MAC really limits a quality dual schedule. To Coach Smith's credit, he does go out of Conference to schedule Duals with Big 12 (Oklahoma St., Iowa St., & Northern Iowa), ACC (Virginia Tech), Pac 12 (Arizona St.), & Big 10 (Illinois).

    Great point about Conference Champ.

I can't see how Kolodzik gets Seeded Top 6 with ZERO wins against Top 20 wrestlers. He is 7-0 against D1 competition. His RPI (if he achieves the required matches) will not be impressive. IMO, a win at EIWA over Clarke "may" put him at #7, a loss would likely put him at the #8 or #9 Seed.
  11. Where does Kolodzik fall in your 149 lb. Rankings now that his shirt has been pulled ?
  12. Show_Me

Agree. IF he goes undefeated & beats Clarke at EIWA, I think a #7 Seed is the best he could hope for considering the Seeding Criteria. This also assumes that the Top 6 don't take a "bad loss".

As previous years results have NO bearing on this year, how can he be Seeded above the 6 wrestlers discussed in this thread ?

With news of Kolodzik’s shirt being pulled : where does he get Ranked & more importantly, what kind of NCAA Seed can he attain this late in the season ? - He is currently 8-0. - He has no wins over Intermat Top 20 wrestlers, his best win being a major over Hoffman of Lehigh. - His remaining Schedule does not offer any matches against ranked wrestlers. - EIWA Tournament will only have one Ranked wrestlers (Clarke - American). He will likely go into NCAA's undefeated but will have no credentials for a "Top 6" Seed.
  15. If he can get a decent Coaches Ranking (5 matches) & D1 Winning Pct (8 matches), he could earn an AQ for 285 BIG.
  16. Not entirely sure if I agree in this particular case. Why would the MAC desire to add a California team when the Conference currently has no members West of Columbia, Missouri ?
  17. I was just getting ready to say exactly that. If the PAC 12 won’t take them, what Conference would ? MAC ? SoCon ? I don’t see a future for them in the Big 10, Big 12, EIWA, or ACC.
  18. Just watched. Nice stream. Does Lock Haven have all their home duals on YouTube ?
  19. There seems to be a topic created almost every week on this. Can’t we just pin this like last season ?
  20. I kind of wondered the same thing when I saw that Dylan Koontz had dropped to 125 for the Edinboro Open & then won the Tournament. Why else would he make the drop this late in the Season ?
  21. Interesting read. IMO FWIW, without a "real threat" of a Team Point deduction, what type of behavior do you think we would see from many Coaches ? I think we all know that the behavior would be far worse & even more disrespectful than it already is. I understand defending DeSanto's injury situation in this particular case, but the behavior that resulted in a Team point seems to be his "norm", not an "outlier". This likely played a role in the decision for a point deduction.

Remaining "Regular Season Schedules for the Top 6 Wrestlers being discussed in this thread: 1. Sasso (20-2). Split with Lee & Moore. Remaining matches with IM #16 Y. Thomas & Verkleeren. Should run the table. 2. Lugo (14-1). Lost to Sasso. Remaining matches with IM #9 Storr, Lee, & Lewallen. The most difficult stretch run by far. 3. O'Connor (17-1). Lost to Lugo. Remaining matches with Leitten, Kemerer, Richard, Spencer, & Maruca. Should easily run the table. 4. Mauller (19-1). Lost to Jensen. Remaining matches with Maruca, IM #20 Williams, & IM #7 Degen (split 2-2 last year). Reasonable chance to run the table. 5. Lewallen (12-1). Lost to Mauller. Remaining matches with Martinez, Jensen, Butler, & Lugo. The Lugo match is HUGE. 6. Lee (16-3). Split with Sasso. Lost to Lewallen & Hoffman (ID). Remaining matches with Verkleeren, Lugo, & IM #14 Purinton. Will likely NOT run the table.

We all know about the the Jensen loss. That is what makes this weight class so interesting as nobody is undefeated. Curious to see NCAA Seeds if O’Connor, Mauller, & Boo “run the table” as the other 3 will be facing each other in the Big 10 Tourney.
