  1. LOVE the confidence! Wow, what a time to be a fan of this sport. "Points will be scored, I will make sure of it" (Like a little kid on Christmas Eve)
  2. Is it still a crime to say these 2 majorly under achieved? Yes, I do love PSU, but have serious doubts going forward. Very bad year and got beat pretty bad late. Let me iterate, I am not knocking them as people, students, or their well being. Just their performance on the mat!
  3. I am 6 for 6 so far with the finalists!
  4. We're witnessing greatness right now. Should go down as 1 of the best ever and should be in any conversation with todays greats, Taylor, Dake, Ruth, etc. His dominance is unreal! Future Olympic champ!
  5. I agree; I don't think 165 is exactly weak. It's just Dake and Taylor are that much better that they make it look that way.
  6. Delgado over Nico Steiber over Ramos Maple over Port Oliver over Chamberlin Welch over Dierenger Taylor over Dake (Possibly, because I really want this) Storley over Perry (Lets go Brown)!!!! Ruth over Hamlin Kilgore over Q Z over Bradley
  7. Steiber and Ruth are both making quick work also.
  8. If, a big if, he beats Dake... EASILY, the OW. No argument anywhere.
  9. Am I really that gullible or is this true? Dake just posted this on his twitter: Kyle Dake ‏@kyledake444 5m IMPORTANT PRESS RELEASE: @flowrestling @kyledake444 and @that_dude_jo will wrestle for the #awesomeaward after finals
  10. Pardon me if this has already been put out there. I briefly skimmed through and didn't see. Seen this on ESPN today: http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story ... vid-taylor
  11. They were big recruits but Marshall never had the offense Andrew did. If you recall correctly, many people on here predicted minimal success at the NCAA level for Marshall because of his offense. Again, I am huge Alton fans and I KNOW they are capable of way more.
  12. I hope so as well. Technically they both could compete right now.
  13. Nico Steiber Maple Oliver DSJ Dake Perry Ruth Q Nelson
  14. Not true at all. If you're putting Peppleman in Alton's class by the time they were Seniors, your kidding yourself. He beat Andrew as a sophomore in H.S when Andrew was the one wrestling up a weight from Dylan. He beat Andrew in the semis. By the time they were finishing high school, Andrew was to Marshall what Marstellar is to Garrett. Maybe not quite as much, but not far off. Andrew was the top overall recruit for good reason (some had Hunter Steiber #1 and Andrew #2)
  15. Andrew has 4 losses, but should be 1. He was beating Suef both times before getting winded and turned. The first period was pretty one sided both times. He always also winning his last match vs the kid from Purdue before tiring. I've already said, while it may sound crazy to others, I thought a 2nd place finish to Jordan Oliver this year was very likely. He was much more highly touted coming out of HS than Ness. Dylan. The only thing different between 157 this year and last year is NO DAKE. Things should have gotten better. I see a 5th place finish for Dylan this year. Again, these aren't just 2 kids that I thought would do pretty good. From what I have always seen, I possibly put my expectations too high. The only difference is no Dake? What about St. John, James Green (who nearly beat Dylan in HS), Welch and Demas. Do you remember how insanely good Welch was in HS, placing at Midlands. Demas was/is an athletic phenom. St. John is returning runner up. It's not like all of those guys, and 70 other D1 wrestlers aren't working their tails off to get on the podium as well as the Altons. I still think that both Altons can win a title. Andrew does seem to have some lung issues...but that is something that can be corrected. His record after 2 years is 56-14. At least 10 of those losses were to All Americans. Coming into this season, Quentin Wright had 23 losses and will probably be a 4x AA, so it kind of puts it into perspective. I am willing to bet that both Altons step up & have a good NCAA run. Like I said, the only DIFFERENCE is NO Dake. All these above mentioned are good-great wrestlers, but were there in the previous year as well!!

  17. Obviously you don't know either of them 2 very well, nor had a chance to watch them much in high school. I'd be willing to bet that even they aren't happy with where they currently are. The fact that Andrew is beating most of the kids in the first period and then goes on to lose tells you something. He is DEFINITELY technically better, but can't get the job done. Sorry, but when your wrestling for the top school in the nation, you're under the microscope more than others. It tells you how high some of us think of these 2 when we expect much more. Not everyone likes the criticism, but some of us can put neutral light on things while still being a State fan!
  18. How many times can the same misguided counter-argument come up in one thread? For the last time, nobody is saying anything about their accomplishments to this point, or belittling them as wrestlers. The point is simple, given the expectations many had (myself included since I started the thread), they are under performing - that is all. As I stated, specifically with Andrew, after his freshman year...I expected them both to win an NCAA title at some point, and be fairly dominant in doing so...and at this point that expectation (as unfair as it may be) seems pretty far away from reality. Not that they stink, or they are busts, or they are finished, etc, etc. This is pretty much my assessment to. I expected 1-2x each, and now I think a better expectation is 2-3 All American status each.
  19. Andrew and Dylan were in my books future 1-2x NCAA champs at one point. Is that to high of a pedistool to put the #2 and 4 ranked kids out of high school on? You make that call. I now see AA fighting for AA status and DA fighting for the same. I'm still looking for top notch wins, which I would have expected a few by now. My honest thought at the beginning of the season was a 2nd place finish for AA behind Oliver. Every 3rd period now, it seems like the clock crawls in his matches and can't get over soon enough. They have all the talent in the world, but gonna need much more than that to reach lofty expectations. I don't see it happening this year.
  20. Where at mat I ask in PA will ya be? I'd love to toast with you fellas.
  21. I wouldn't automatically count Graff out. He wrestled Ramos well.
  22. Give it a rest already dude. They probably should quit the team, right? They arent tough enough, right? For a PS fan, you can be a real debbie downer. Nope, sorry bro. I'm just not anal with my opinion. I feel they are under achieving for being the 2nd and 4th ranked kids out of high school, and dominating the way I used to watch them do on a weekly basis in Lock Haven. They are much better technically sound than Matthew Brown, and look what he did. Heart, determination, will, and hard work are the difference. Do I hope they eventually prove me wrong? Your darn right. WE ARE! Great tournament.
