  1. I'm not sure there really is anything possibly that can be done to knock an undefeated wrestler out of the top spot. Perhaps 4X no RS? Or 4X undefeated being more dominant (going to be hard to do) I clearly think someone with multiple losses isn't in the discussion.
  2. The argument you are building here, to use your own words, is absolute "nonsense". Ill ask again, as I just did in the other thread, what you are basing this on? What mathematical model are you using to determine that 4 time undefeated champ is more likely than 4 time at 4 weights? The way I see it, is that even the 4 timer at 4 weights (which he isn't yet, btw) didn't go undefeated in his 4 years....wouldn't that make undefeated more difficult to achieve, being that the 4 different weights guy couldn't even achieve it? And I will add by saying.. Every wrestler of every team, every match, every year tries to go undefeated. 1 has done this. Rarely EVER do wrestlers try to win at 4 different weights. Most wrestlers stay at a weight because frankly that's just what they weigh.
  3. And, who else has dominated the field as much also?
  4. Dake has been beaten multiple times. Caels record has a 0 in it. Enough said!
  5. Makes no sense really. Dake has been beat which proves he is beatable. Multiple times. Cael was NEVER beat when the lights were on and matches counted. Not once. How is that comparable? And throwing out the redshirt moving up can be countered by 'Cael was WAY, WAY, WAY more dominant and had only a handful of matches in his career decided by a regular decision.
  6. If winning 4 titles is the accomplishment, would Cael going undefeated just be a "fun fact" or "interesting piece of trivia"? I think Cael going undefeated certainly adds to his accomplishment and I certainly feel moving up a weight class every year while in college adds to the accomplishment. I would go so far as to say that winning 4 titles, no redshirt & moving up a weight every year is a greater accomplishment.
  7. 4 titles and never coming close to losing outweighs 4 titles with a handful of losses IMO. As dsnc mentioned, it's more a fun fact than anything. These are still growing kids so putting on weight isn't exactly unheard of.
  8. I would like to see so but I wouldn't go close to guaranteeing this!
  9. You nailed it Hammerlock. I take it your still offended from last night about me stating my opinion?
  10. Fair enough, I'll be the first to say that Dake is great. And until proven otherwise, the king of 165. Still though, Dake riding guys out for a period or two is standard Dake, right? I'm not saying it's easy as most wrestlers can not do this. But it's vintage Dake.
  11. Apparently it's normal for him to go toe to toe with Metcalf because that's just 'freestyle'.
  12. I just double checked, but Taylors collegiate record shows 71-1. I'm not sure why you are jumping DJD's case as it is pretty standard of Dake. Yes, maybe some of us choose the offensive style of take him down, let him up better than ride all period.
  13. The Dake/Caldwell match was a standard Dake match. 1. Do nothing on your feet 2. Score and escape/reversal 3. Ride on top while not improving position That was exciting though.
  14. WHAT? I'm sure you watched it like the most of us. It was a very good match. it was, but the way freestyle is you don't try to blow people out. This is a well known fact. I will amend and say no one who didn't have an axe to grind still brings that match up. Chop it up how you wish, J Oliver is THAT good!
  15. WHAT? I'm sure you watched it like the most of us. It was a very good match.
  16. Lol feeling better... But still...
  17. I would have no problem with J. Oliver being argued as the best wrestler in NCAA. Numbers aside, just watching them wrestle, he is simply great. Just a few months ago, he gave Brent Metcalf all he could handle. I see a Gold Medalist in the future for J.O.
  18. Define "some." I'm guessing Steiber, Oliver or Ruth will win the award when all is said and done. And I also believe Dake and Taylor will both finish with a loss or two so they will be eliminated. No point in calling out names. More than 1 have made the claim probably for both Taylor and Dake. I'd agree with Steiber, Ruth or Oliver assuming they both continue down the path they are. I can't watch enough J. Oliver matches. He had something like 12 takedowns in the first period during his first match the other day. It's almost humanly impossible considering these kids are good enough to be wrestling in college and for the most part go out and wrestle to NOT get taken down.
  19. Typo. McD only wrestled against Hofstra. Iowa matted Gurule at 125 against Bucknell, not McD. Apologies to my quote then - I was just going off Trac Wrestling updates.
  20. Yes, all deserve mention. Personally though, I don't see Ramos beating Steiber which would take him out of the running. DSJ is definitely the man to beat at 157. I think 125 will be a tough class to dominate but if anyone can, MM is that guy.
  21. Yes, it was 5-5 and McD got the riding time point to make it 6-5.
  22. I think it's unfair that some want to just hand the Hodge to the winner of 165. Yes, it's the toughest weight, but doesn't the trophy go to the most dominant wrestler in all weights? Logan Steiber, Jordan Oliver, Ed Ruth, etc are all fair game for this award as well. It's not their fault Dake or Taylor isn't at their weight.
  23. Sorry Scribe, your speaking about people that do not include me and may care less about this question. I'm one man asking a question. Not about 1 of 4 matches, etc. Your looking to stir stuff when I asked a simple question.
