  1. Is everyone ready for the 4th consecutive title to come on back to Happy Valley? I sure am..
  2. I am one that thinks Marsteller definitely matured early, and hasn't seemed to get a whole lot better since his freshman year. He was arguably beating kids worse than, then he is now. With that being said, I am with you, that I do NOT think he is overrated. I honestly see him being a 4x HIGH AA, and 3x NCAA champ. The one huge variable though, is Bo Jordan. Bo could be his Kyle Dake! :-) I am still happy about our incoming class, but CM was the one we were counting on to fill at least one of the voids with DT or Ruth in regards to the constant bonus points. Ouch...
  3. Baloney! It's long before this. And it's always the PENN STATE FAN BASE, as opposed to singling out the 1, 2, or 3 responsible. The larger the fan base, of course the knuckleheads will multiple.
  4. Chance confirmed via Facebook he will be wrestling for Ok St.

  6. Keep talking smack Gonzo!! :-) Enjoy 3rd place and lower for the next several years. And enjoy watching more of the same; kids pushing other kids during celebrations, poor attitudes by throwing metals away, etc. You seem to spend more time bashing the PSU base than chiming with 'worthwhile' posts. Keep it up...
  7. According to Tim Owen, which InterMat re-tweeted: "I can confirm that Chance Marsteller, the No. 1 recruit in the country, is no longer 100 percent committed to #PSU and will explore options".
  8. I think we'll see soon enough Chance and Bo aren't exactly equal. Chance is arguably the most decorated wrestler to come from the most decorated state in wrestling. He's beaten more state champions than most realize, probably around 8-9. I'm not sure what to think about Zain. Every time I have doubted him, he has come up big. I don't think he'll score bonus like Snyder does though, so probably give Snyder the nod.
  9. I like ZR and CM, but both are excellent duos to have.
  10. I expect him to come in and compete immediately without a RS. My guess is 165.
  11. Huge addition, to say the least.
  12. I was thinking the same thing. Not to dismiss the injuries or anything, as they probably did definitely effect them, but Andrew looked OK except for when the gas tank ran out. That was all I really noticed.
  13. Stud! If there is anyone I want on the defense of the leg lift, it's him. No question!
  14. And NO ONE has a bigger collection of what you just described, than PA. Check out the number of threads started by these dopes specifically about just PA wrestlers. Basically what they are telling you is to leave the forum, NO ONE cares what you are saying. Is that blunt enough for you?
  15. I'll help you out: Pinned 4th place Peter Yates 2 times Majored 3rd place Steve Fittery 2 times Tech falled 2nd place finisher Brandon Hatchett Majored 4th place finisher Mike Evans Majored 3rd place finisher Robert Kokesh Pinned and Majored 4th place finisher Conrad Polz Majored 2x Finalist, 1x NCAA Champ Derek St John Majored 2nd place and 3rd place finisher Tyler Caldwell This isn't impressive? All being a match away or IN the finals isn't top notch competition? Or are they just labeled not top notch because he makes it look that way?
  16. Regardless, I've watched enough of both of them to feel how I feel. Caldwell doesn't do anything special. His offense is equivelant to Hamlin. He may ride a bit better. Hamlin is just as good at getting out from bottom. If anything, Hamlin is a tad under. I don't see him losing to someone such as that kid from Bucknell. That kid at App St that beat Hamlin last year wrestled a good tourney, and obviously beat other quality wrestlers as well. Yes, Taylor is much better than anyone else that we've mentioned. That I agree on.
  17. You're confusing things. It's simple. Q got better than he was last year. So did Bosak. So did Ruth. A better Ruth beat a better Bosak. Yes, Q got better to, but it's not certain he got better enough to beat Bosak. Also remember how convincing Ruths wins were. There was never any doubt in his matches. Steinhouse also gave Q fits. So did Hamiln. Tbh, I might say Bosak got worse. Remember he was battling staph for most of the year and couldn't really train. The difference between those guys and Q is that Q is SUBSTANTIALLY better than he was last year and doing it at a higher weight class to boot. Q's results from last year really mean nothing at this point. going from the 6 seed at 184 to having an undefeated season at 197 is a pretty big improvement. Bosak only lost to 2 wrestlers this year; the Champ, and the runner up. I'm not sure he really got worse. I'm not sure anyone really gets worse (people claimed that with Caldwell also). Q has ALWAYS been under seeded. Who knows though. It's tough to say... I'm not even sure why or how we got to this point in the conversation, lol.

  19. Correct me if I am wrong, but Iowa, Illinois and Ohio State is a tougher conference schedule than Bucknell, Binghampton and Brown. Mark it down that Ruth would have many more pins than he currently does with that schedule as well. And yes, Taylor is significantly better, but not Caldwell. Not even close. Didn't Caldwell lose to a kid from Bucknell? I'm not even sure his name.
  20. What are you talking about, lol? You mentioned Q got better from last year, and that was the same time frame I was referring to with Ruth.
  21. Why? Q couldn't beat Bosak. Ruth beat him multiples times. Easy. Because we all know Q isn't the least bit better this year than he was last year... Also, both Kilgore and Wilps would be interesting matchups for Ruth. Nobody at 174 would be able to make a match with Taylor the least bit interesting (dual meaning intended) We all know Q got at least a bit better. You forgot to add that while Q got better, so did Ed Ruth.
  22. Why? Q couldn't beat Bosak. Ruth beat him multiples times. Easy.
  23. I'd feel comfortable putting Taylor in there, but definitely not Nico. Delgado and Garrett will both be back very strong.
  24. I'm not sure Hamlin was ever majored in his entire career, but yet it happens when he's at this peak. That tells ya something! And it was pretty easy doing so.
