  1. Former Minnesota 3x AA Mack Reiter talks about the coaching changes on his podcast https://iawrestle.com/2018/05/09/sf06-dont-worry-iahsaa-we-got-it-from-here/
  2. https://iawrestle.com/2018/05/01/sf06-dunkaroos-downey-and-desanto-oh-and-some-us-open-talk/ Just another Iowa/Minnesota heavy podcast that is very serious about not taking anything serious. Plenty of talk on a national level too.
  3. Good knees Ruth/Taylor 2+2= 4 Zain/ Nolf 2+1= 3 Pretty clear separation here between the two
  4. To be fair, that statement is true of Royce Alger on most days. Not just specifically today.
  5. I always thought his name was Tom Sello

I mean lets be honest, the dude deserves everything he's going to get right now. The fact remains he's still really good, but just couldnt get it done at NCAA's. This coming from an Iowa fan.

So the world needs less honest people is what you are telling me?

Full disclosure I'm and Iowa fan that can see both sides. I've always said it's ok to hate Thomas Gilman, but if your only reason for hating him is that he thinks and talks about things differently than you, you are missing the point. The world needs more guys that speak their mind than the "I'm taking it one match at a time" guys.

Thomas Gilman After Quarter-Finals Fall | https://iawrestle.com/2017/03/17/thomas-gilman-after-quarter-finals-fall/ Here is the interview everyone is referring to
  10. I agree that Cash Wilcke is much more deserving of a 197 wildcard than Cody Burcher.
  11. How close are the projected seedings at the top of this thread going to be because Smith is listed below all 3 in those.
  12. he replaces Jake Smith of West Virginia at 197
  13. Doesnt it slightly help Ohio State, Oklahoma State, and PSU equally?
  14. He wrestled his last NCAA tournament on one knee basically. Pulled out an AA with a torn ACL.
  15. This is what i've thought and have seen from a small sample size of the few coaches I know. There is nothing wrong with keeping an eye on what your competition or fan base is thinking as long as you can put it aside when it comes time to get down to business. Sometimes it's just a handful of homers which can be brushes aside, but if you see something starting to gain steam it helps to get out in front of it.
  16. Everything you said is true and I'm not disputing any of you facts. You just presented it like it was a counter point and tried to change what I said to match your narrative.
  17. Some of you people take wrestling or life way to seriously and try to live your lives by all of these inspirational quotes or sayings. There is nothing wrong with listening to what the haters, outsiders, or even your competition is saying as long as you can put it aside when it matters. If nobody is talking bad about you then you probably arent doing a whole lot. Now do people take it too far? Of course, but you cant expect all of the glory that comes with winning a national title if you cant take some of the heat when you're not getting it done.
  18. He's beaten all of those guys you mentioned. Nowhere did i guarantee he makes the finals nor would I even bet money on getting there, but over the course of the year he has shown he is the 2nd best wrestler. He has given Nolf his two "closest" matches all year as well which makes him a step above the other guys now. We will see if he can do it when it counts most.
  19. Isnt Kemerer the answer here? I dont see it happening, but he seems to be a step above the field minus Nolf. I wouldnt be totally shocked if he doesnt make the finals either, but when you have one almost guarantee like Nolf it only takes one bad match, injury, move for that next best guy to become the favorite.
  20. Wrestle 1 second, get your hand raised, and qualify for the national tournament. Cant do much better than that.
  21. I heard he turned to wave at that guy and fell in a hole, respraining his ankle.
  22. Lets talk about who had the most dominate Big Ten tournament. My vote is Nick Suriano. The dude wrestled for 1 second and got his hand raised. It might have been the most dominant Big Ten performance of all time actually.
  23. I have a hard time believing Oklahoma State will make there way into 3rd place today in the final Big Ten team standings
  24. I went into the future and got the final team scores Penn State 137 Ohio State 135.5 Iowa 105.5 I was fairly generous with Penn States points and bonus Ohio State needs NaTo, MyMar, and Snyder win to have a chance. If BoJo beats Hall that should seal it.
