well if you know its significant then you've seen the data so what is the Omicro transmission rate for:

    a) unvaccinated

    b) vaccinated

and what is the confidence interval &/or test statistic?

And even if above supported by data then why are all these high vaccinated areas, cities, college campuses having there highest number ever, even before vaccines?

How does natural immunity play into it?  Natural plus vax?

    Florida hospitalizations

As I said before, hospitalizations are a lagging indicator of infections.

Deaths are a lagging indicator of hospitalizations.

If the hospitals are saturated, as they appear they will be, excess deaths will rise as injured/infected people cannot find a hospital bed/nurse and die as a result.

Some people are going to be so excited if the college season is cancelled.  They love this stuff.  It is seemingly all they care about.

    Agree or disagree?

    1. Spencer has no ACLs and has the equivalent of 6 years of wear and tear on his body from his college career.  He may be wearing a brace over his entire lower body by the end of this season.

    2. 125 has a few guys theoretically capable of upsetting the Lee (Glory, Vito, the Suriano)

    3. Ferrari is too big, strong, tanned and explosive for his competitors.  I would give Max Dean a shot but he's a pumped up 184 pounder.

    6 years?  Great math.

PSU is most definitely right there come tournament time. Four defending champs and a fifth very serious finals contender. Nobody else has anything close to that firepower. Iowa’s so called lock of a champ could end up with a minefield to navigate with no ACL’s.  The recent history of peaking at the right time and pulling out those big ones when they matter most certainly leans one way more than the other. Anyone who looking at this objectively knows this is 50/50 at best.

Who is the fifth finals contender? I'm hoping you mean Max Dean?

You are right, early reports indicated that omicron variant appeared to be highly contagious, yet mild in severity. But those were early.

More recent reports indicate that 'highly contagious' holds true, but the 'mild in severity' portion is more attributable to the fact that millions have gotten vaccinated. For them, especially those with booster shots, the severity has proven to be relatively mild in most cases. For the unvaccinated and to a lesser extent the unboosted, it has proven to be quite severe - to the point where deaths are rising and, yes, in fact some hospitals are once again using refrigerated trucks for temporary storage of the deceased. For the record, yes, we are having hospitals fill up and we are having "dead bodies piling up", and right now it is trending in the wrong direction.

There's still much we don't know about the Omicron variant - but note that if anybody claims to have all the answers, they're lying to you.

I would recommend we all find reputable (be picky) sources of information and follow. Maybe we'll get good news, or maybe it'll be gloom and doom. I'm hoping for the former and preparing for the latter.

    Good info.

I believe there are plenty of posters on these boards who are hoping for gloom and doom.

Was it a mysterious “mono-like illness?”

BTW I thought his dad had said he had a staph infection or something or was that a different time?

Hold on... you are out of line! There are rules on this board! It is ok to question the handling of an Iowa wrestlers injury or illness.  It is NOT ok to question how The Cael handles injuries and illnesses.

He was recovering from being very sick, but you knew that. Makes your post kinda creepy.

Hold on... are you intimating that The Cael would put an unwell wrestler on the mat, someone who was not capable of defending himself?  You're questioning The Cael's ethics and how he prioritizes the well-being of his athletes?

Now Kerk is recovering from The Flu.  Allegedly.  How long does he get for that.  Because on BWI, they are acting as if it is still a thing.

P.S.  I'm sorry that you felt the need to get personal, because I pointed out that a wrestler was terrible on bottom.  You are still a top 3 favorite poster for me.
