Bajrang is not getting paid $15k to show. Only difference in the agreements is a travel stipend that represents the difference between a US flight to Austin and a flight from India.

Unfortunately, Mohammad Bana also has Covid-19 and is hospitalized
It seems that this national training camp ending up being a super spreader event.  I hate to say this, but the best thing may be to shut everything down until a vaccine comes out

unfortunately i am message board warrior at heart. it's in my blood and is never going away. I am bound to this forum for life and sometimes things get spicy, can't be helped. but i will tell the bros at the office to chill with the arrogance and put out nothing but positive vibes going forward. thank you for the feedback and understanding.

Wait is @Jaroslav Hasek Spey? Big fan of you on the forums, your podcast is okay. I wish you had talked to Bratke more about his competition days.

I, for one, am glad you engage. Thank you for that.
If you do deliver any feedback from this board to HQ mine would be:
    1. I value Flo and think it has been well worth the price.  I subscribed specifically to see wrestling I could not get to see live. The way I look at it is, for under $200 I save thousands in travel expenses. I would make that trade all day.
    2. FRL can also be highly entertaining. I don't value it the way I value the remote access to wrestling, but it is essentially free added content from my perspective.
    3. The rankings are fun to argue about. And the ranker's guild is a cute schtick even if I disagree with it. This comes in third in my personal value rank. But again, free.
    4. The articles are only occasionally interesting.
Every year I just let it ride and re-subscribe. But this year I am having second thoughts. The lose of live Big 10 wrestling streaming is a big issue for me, but not the only issue. The Flo lawsuit against Willy Saylor and Rokfin has been very petty in my view and has left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't think I am alone in that either.
On the plus side, I have been very impressed with CP, Askren, and Bratke being able to do a show about a sport that effectively ceased to exist for 5 or 6 months. I also applaud Flo not feeling the need to hot take. Keep keeping it classy. This board provides all of the needless, fact-less speculation anyone can need. Finally, Flo's events have been great, as well.

Flo hasn't been paid to cover a D1 program since I've been here. At least to my knowledge. Kyle Dake: The Journey was sponsored by ASICS (part I and part II), and there may have been other vids like that, I just can't recall them right now. In the past, though, it's certainly possible that Flo asked for reimbursement to cover travel for content trips or maybe even to turn a profit, I just couldn't say.
But yeah, we are definitely not currently pursuing a strategy of trying to make a profit in exchange for team promotion.
What we are pursuing, however, is paying for unique, marketable content that will get wrestling fans to sign up for a Flo subscription. With that in mind, if anyone reading this has ideas or knows someone who has ideas about creating wrestling content, rankings or coverage in exchange for money, feel free to hit me up!

i remember the days when Flo would get criticized for being the TMZ of the wrestling world. ahh yes, simpler times.
the upshot is that the D1 trash talk that the wrestling community so desperately craves is available for the taking. the Flo monopoly has graciously left that content gold just laying around for some entrepreneur to scoop up!

i would contend that cable tv pioneered that model several decades ago but i appreciate your frustration with the ads and get that you mean other streaming platforms. there are no ads on my HBO and Netflix subs but I pay for the Hulu package that comes with ads. chances are probably slim that Flo's pricing model changes but i'll make a suggestion about creating a subscription tier that gets rid of ads. maybe one day! and if makes you feel any better, i can't turn the ads off either!

Oh I didn’t take it that way at all. I was honestly curious when you came on board. You’ve, from what I’ve seen, always been straight and honest with the members of this board.

Jaroslav Hasek got a reaction from GranbyTroll in Latest Interview with Sadulaev
Sadulaev's warnings were for ADAMS (Anti-Doping Administration & Management System). You have to register your whereabouts at all times in case WADA or one of their affiliates wants to do a random test. I think Burroughs picked one up a few years ago. Sadulaev was saying he's got 2 warnings because of that and the third one would result in a suspension.
Sadulaev got suspended by UWW for a separate matter, which was for wearing the t-shirt with Imam Shamil on it in the press area after the 2019 Worlds, which is a violation of the IOC code of conduct. That summer, Chechen warlord Ramzan Kadyrov had insulted Imam Shamil, who is a national historical hero to the people of Dagestan. Sadualev, like many other Dagestantis, was showing Dagastani (and Avar) pride, as were many other Dagestanis during that summer, and inadvertently ran afoul of the IOC regulation. I believe the punishment was something like 4 months from the incident, which still would have allowed Sadulaev to compete in Yariguin, altho he elected not to. Either way, he sat out no events as a result of the suspension.

Spey - My bad.  I didn't understand that if a competitor lost his first round match, he would be done and finish in 5-8 place.  I thought there was a wrestleback for 5th/7th.
I am a paid subscriber to Flo and I appreciate you guys putting on events, especially now with all the shutdowns due to covid.  Sorry for the confusion on my end.

Senior Nationals had many Olympic hopefuls competing for pride. Not sure how much money the HWC and NLWC are paying for matches but if its in the ballpark of $1,000 then they would all also, by your reckoning, be competing for pride.
Not sure why competing for 'pride' would surprise you. that is historically how things work in this sport.

I don't see anything in the rules about having to be a citizen for any amount of time, just that you need a passport. You do have to sit out 3 years if you wrestled in a world or continental event or an Olympics or Olympic qualifying event (if I'm reading the rules correctly). It also costs the new federation 10,000 swiss francs (usually around 1 to 1 with the US dollar) minimum per transfer altho the host nation has to pay more depending on the accolades already earned by the transferring wrestler. 300,000 francs for an Olympic gold medalist. A federation can also only accept one transfer per style per age division per year.
If you can get a wrestler a passport and have 10K and he or she hasn't competed in any major events for the original federation and you haven't received any other transfers that year, I believe you can submit your paperwork in December and have the wrestler eligible on January 1 the next month.
I think that's all the major restrictions but there may have missed something in the rules.

Italy also has Abraham Conyedo and Givi Davidovi on their team. Davidovi is from Georgia and Conyedo is from Cuba. I don't know their stories, but like Chamizo, they both represented other countries before wrestling for Italy, so it would appear that the federation doesn't have a problem with importing starters.
