  1. It's definitely driving discussion on the message boards.
  2. Setting the bar for all of us.
  3. Ben "Funky" Askren. He'd pay all the athletes in BitCoin and save a fortune.
  4. What's wrong with a loser repeatedly starting threads just to make everyone mad?
  5. Looks like I beat you to the scoop!
  6. CP just said on air that Ollie moved into the marketing department of FloSports and doesn't have time to appear on the podcast anymore.
  7. I listened to the episodes this week, and didn't hear any mention of Ollie. I also didn't mind him. Since Willie left, the in-person crew more or less have been waiting from CP to call on them then mostly agreeing with CP. Askren often disagrees with or prods CP, but has a little bit of a delay because he calls in. Sometimes when he tries to interject or push back against something another person on the panel has said, Ben gets cut off or cuts off someone else making a point. Ollie, in-person, would at least have more "hot takes" and interesting talking points than the rest of the crew. Two days a week for 45-60 minutes is plenty of wrestling talk for this time of year. Maybe do a mega show after the Olympics.
  8. One of the characters on the Flo podcast carousel. Off the top of my head, he was there for a few months then suddenly disappeared. Earlier this week, Askren asked if Ollie was showing up for the show and Pyles said something like "he won't be for a while."
  9. Is Ollie gone for good? CP mentioned that he wouldn't be on the show on-air the other day, but I assumed it was a temporary thing.
  10. Pantaleo got in on the same exact shot to Green's lead leg 4 times. Scored the first two times, the next two turned into scrambles and no scores for Pantaleo. Still, it's gotta feel good to get to the leg you want seemingly at will.
  11. Was he mad that they put Eireman on the clock near the end? It seemed like a pretty standard passivity call to me. Demas was trying to overhook or something and Eireman had his head in the chest. After Eireman cleared the tie he took about 3 steps straight back. That's double passive. Eireman avoided wrestling by blocking then backing up.
  12. Vlasov went out in the 2016 Rio semis. His opponent got to keep the 2 points on the exposure, received no caution, and was not put into par terre. Contrast that to Rau who did not get to keep his points, was given a caution +2, and was put in par terre. Earlier in the 2021 USA OTT, Valencia put Nate Jackson completely asleep and did not receive a caution either. In real time, the Rau caution +2 and being put in par terre blew my mind. Multiple times in that same tournament they did not caution the offending wrestler.
  13. I could venture a guess that most of them were not necessary.
  14. Off the top of my head, that's ballpark the real number. Paul chose Askren when Dillon Danis declined. All according to what Askren has said on various podcasts, as my memory serves.
  15. Nolf said in his post OTT interview that he can't make 70.
  16. Zahid chokes Nate Jackson out cold, gets to keep the first 2 points and only loses the second 2 points. It seems unfair that this is unrelated event significantly impacted Rau's bid to make the Olympic team. I'm not a big Rau fan or anything. Even after being put in par terre, Rau had a chance to defend Stefanowicz's gut (he didn't) then got his own chance on top in the next half (he didn't score). So this was very much still in Rau's hands... but as a non-Greco guy this was a real head scratcher.
  17. All cautions are +2 in Greco, I believe. The ref did warn Rau about it early in the match alongside some top tier finger wagging. Rau got put back down, I assume, because the foul happened on the knees in a front headlock which internationally is par terre even though folkstyle fans would consider that "neutral."
  18. You're supposed to get a caution and be put back into par terre. In freestyle, cautions are 1, and in Greco they're 2.
  19. When Bo spanked Zahid during the match the ref didn't award a caution, and apparently @Jaroslav Hasek lost his mind. When Zahid choked Nate Jackson unconscious in a Russian roll, the ref took away some of Zahid's exposure points but didn't award a caution. When Joe Rau put Stefanowicz in a front head pinch, and the refs stopped it twice, the second time giving caution +2 and putting Rau in par terre. Were all of these cautions? None? Some? The Stefanowicz one stuck out to me for how severe the penalty was vs. the infraction. Rau did the front head pinch the way you're supposed to (super tight) and the refs not only took it away but gave Stefanowicz 2 points and put Rau in par terre. That penalty is not commensurate with the infraction in my opinion. In the 2016 75kg semis, Starcevic put Vlasov out cold and they gave Starcevic 2 points for it. Are the US officials doing this wrong?
  20. USA Wrestling had a special over time rule for that tournament as opposed to criteria. Under the FILA criteria rules at the time, Dake's throw would have put him in the lead.
  21. If anyone else runs into this, I was able to go to My Events to view all the sessions on my phone.
  22. Is anyone else having issues viewing all of their tickets from their phones? I see Day 1 Session 1 on my laptop but not my phone.
