Looking back, the decision to read this inane post was not great.

Hold it at Rutgers again, and the Final X fans that paid for that event should get a free pass. I'm one of them, so I'm very biased on that recommendation.
Rich Bender said in the Flo interview that they'll try to arrange for the match(es) to take place close to where they both live, so my biased recommendation has some merit.

I understand your point, which may or may not prove to be true (since it is a counterfactual at the current time), but my own preference is to see the top guys compete wherever they are from.
That is the basic nature of competitive sports.  If the top two or three individuals in, say pole vaulting, are from one country, so be it.  You want to see them go head to head whenever possible.  It furthers the sport.
I'm  personally less interested in medal count than many others, though other things being equal, generally prefer US men and women to win.

This match and the Zain-Yianni affair are more evidence to me that countries with top (elite) contenders should have the chance to send at least two guys to Worlds, especially if they meet certain qualifying standards (e.g., points earned or winning/place in key tournaments or returning medalists, etc).
Many other sports allow countries to send multiple elite members to championships: track and field, gymnastics, swimming, etcetera.

World championships would be a lot more interesting, entertaining and competitive with 2 or more guys from the US, Russia, Iran, and few other place perhaps.
It's crazy that arguably the #2 guy in the World is unable to compete because he loses to the #1 guy on domestic soil.

I tend to agree.  Ringer looks very big and filled out for 79KG, which seems his optimum weight.  He is likely 3 or 4 inches shorter than DT.  Not sure where he puts on 15 pounds that help his game.

Well, that is who Dake is.  Somehow or another he almost always gets it done.  Got to give him credit for having a winning strategy and execution even if it doesn't receive style points.

If there is a five second rule for throwing the brick, there should be a five day rule for making a decision about the outcome.
How many months are we past that?
This legal nonsense is so typically and pathetically American.
Maybe  celebutante lawyer Alan Dirt-Show-Its will get involved; that is, unless he is shilling on TV for the latest serial killer, pedophile or corrupt President.

The action begins Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. in Tallinn, which is seven hours ahead of the U.S. Eastern time zone. All of the action is broadcast live in the United States on Trackwrestling.   Aside: the UWW website shows a livestream, but who knows, it might be blocked in the US.

When you go to the UWW website, there is a video link for the event (see below) but when you click on it, it says you (I) can't watch it in my local area.  If you click on that, it takes you to FLO's website.  They are broadcasting the event starting at 4 AM, but as I'm pretty sure you know, they are a subscription service.

dmm53 got a reaction from wrestlingnerd in Dake to compete in Spain before wrestle off with Dieringer
If you view this development procedurally or in terms of principle, I suppose you can make the claim and case that Dake is gaming the system and helping himself out to be more prepared coming off an injury.
If you view it it more pragmatically, you might likely see it as increasing the odds that the US will get the best wrestler (at least in Dake's case) at the weight or the best version of that wrestler (again at least in Dake's case and maybe even also Deiringer's ) for the wrestle-off.
Personally, I hope we see both guys at their relative best on August 17th.
I also think we will learn something about their current conditions very shortly—at  Yasar Dogu (Deiringer) and the Spanish Grand Prix (Dake).  The former is obviously a much tougher tournament.
