  1. Pretty sure he accepted the job or that press release came out around the first week of July 2014, so he has been of the NDSU program just over a year. I know he was training quite a bit in IC this summer.
  2. I am getting mats B and C to stream through this link: https://unitedworldwrestling.org/event/junior-world-championships Mat A is the only one I am seeing as not streaming, and I thought I saw that the video crew got stuck somewhere, so that was the issue.
  3. I got a chance to talk to the 60 kg Junior World Team member and get his thoughts on a range of topics related to the Junior World Championships and the Junior World Team. http://takedownwrestle.com/wrestling-news/olympic/joey-mckenna-eyes-gold-medal-in-brazil/

Megaludis beat him by TF twice two years ago. That's a large gap to close. During his RS year he lost to Dom Forys, Dominic Parisi, Ben Willeford, and Dalton Macri. I am not saying these guys are awful, but it doesn't bode well for a guy who is a AA lock and possible champion. http://www.wrestlestats.com/wrestler/index/12135/cruz-darian
  5. And if you consider the Brands are from Sheldon, IA and Morningstar is from Lisbon, IA all of Iowa's coaches are from north of Iowa City!
  6. Pretty solid recruit lineup on the radio this weekend 9:00 a.m. - Larry Early - #7 ranked wrestler from Oak Park River Forest committed to Minnesota 9:15 a.m. - Vincenzo Joseph - #2 ranked wrestler from Pittsburgh Central Catholic committed to Penn State 9:35 a.m. - Fredy Stroker - #3 ranked wrestler from Bettendorf committed to Minnesota 10:00 a.m. - Zahid and Anthony Valencia - #1 and #2 ranked wrestlers from St. John Bosco committed to Arizona State 10:15 a.m. - Alex Marinelli - #1 ranked wrestler from St. Paris Graham committed to Iowa 10:35 a.m. - Mark Hall - #1 ranked wrestler from Apple Valley http://www.teamusa.org/USA-Wrestling/Features/2015/July/15/Early-Joseph-and-Stroker-among-guests-on-Takedown-Radio-July-18
  7. I think Ban might have gotten the ban hammer
  8. Someone (not from UNI) said Colon might be injured. Can't see how USA wrestling would have passed over him, so I am guessing he declined for some reason, and the speculation is he is dinged up.
  9. LOL "Ramos locked up a cradle and took Henry Cejudo to his back for six points in the final 20 seconds to complete a 12-8 comeback win against the 2008 Olympic gold medalist." - Andy Hamilton http://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/sports/2015/04/04/agon-wrestling-championships-team-iowa-team-world-andy-hamilton/25283543/ "2014 NCAA titlist Tony Ramos earned a 12-8 come-from-behind win over 2008 US Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo." - Mark Palmer http://intermatwrestle.com/articles/14383 Google is your friend.
  10. The interview in the OP states he is going to 97
  11. Devin Schroder, a top 100 125 recruit has already given his verbal to Purdue.
  12. Pretty sure he was with AWN all this past year, prior to that I believe he was a Floinsider
  13. Do we have our first top 100 recruit to verbal in the July 1st period? Corey Haddad says #22 ranked Parriott is headed to Purdue https://twitter.com/CoreyHaddad/status/618605174106509313
  14. Tony's weight is fine FWIW. Don't know the exact reason he is not going, but I know for certain it's not his weight.
  15. Bucknell's schedule is out http://www.bucknellbison.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=32100&ATCLID=210179787 Also Pariano tweeted ISU is headed back to the Midlands, so that takes them out of the Scuffle: http://iawrestle.com/2015/07/02/iowa-state-headed-back-to-midlands/
  16. Yeah, and it kind of wouldn't be fair to our national team wrestlers Dake and Taylor, who have earned second/third chance to back JB up at 74 kg.
  17. Ranked #40 back in '14 by Earl at D1 http://d1collegewrestling.net/Top150_2014.html
  18. Another interview, this time with PA wrestler Luke Pletcher http://takedownwrestle.com/interviews/luke-pletcher/
  19. I am pretty sure. Snyder said so on Flo's podcast, and both Ramos and Metcalf have confirmed that they are going. EDIT: 61 and 70 are not contested at the games, so technically not all our #1 guys
  20. Maple was on this week's episode of Takedown Radio and if I remember right he said that he is bumping. The link has the podcast of the show so you can listen http://takedownwrestle.com/radio/takedown-radio-tdr946/ The Grand Prix in Spain is July 11-12th. WIth the Pan Am Games taking place three days after the Grand Prix, It's safe to assume that Ramos, Metcalf, JB, Herbert, Snyder, and Tervel will not be heading to Spain.
  21. What do you mean? I was still running with the joke.
  22. Yeah, but it's a lot cheaper to fly that fresh lobster to PA than it is to Iowa.Proximity.
  23. Since it's on the east coast I am going to guess they had Red Lobster
  24. Considering how a majority of wrestlers do redshirt right away, I can't see how being able to wrestle as a true freshman vs not being able to is the deciding factor. In a way he can be a day 1 starter no matter where he goes, because it wouldn't matter if he picked Iowa or PSU his chances of being a four year starter would be the same - really good.
  25. I got a chance to talk with one of the top 2016 recruits Kanen Storr, and which schools he is looking at. http://takedownwrestle.com/interviews/kanen-storr/
