    Maroulis - unreal

See - its when people add stuff like the above that makes them sarcastic "I wanna argue everything and show you how smart I am" posters that are disliked. I was being coy/sarcastic because of the raging debate on this board about that topic. I dont have a "thesis" and sorry that I forgot about her scholastic high school folkstyle wrestling......

    Maroulis - unreal

Im talking about her technique right now. And I think she's been training with Kalika for quit some time, right? Im not saying that he is solely responsible for making her good, either.

    Suriano, the move is off?

Still have to sit a year, but you don't lose a year of eligibility. Without the waiver - they need to sit a year AND lose a year.

    Maroulis - unreal

Most of her technique has to be from Kalika, right? I think he is an incredible coach - I wish he coached more of our men/women (maybe he does and Im just missing it, though)

    Maroulis - unreal

Kinda makes one think that if someone trains strictly freestyle from a young age they might get pretty good at it....... Hmmmm.......

    Suriano, the move is off?

It helps if PSU promises to support a waiver request. He still has to sit a year but doesn't lose a year of eligibility on top. I think I'm right about that - aren't I? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

It's a negotiation - plain and simple. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Best free agent move?

I think McKenna improves greatly this year - not that he isn't exceptional already, I just think he regressed a bit last year and tOSU room will be more conducive to him regaining and improving beyond where he was. I think McKenna's ceiling is higher than PDIII's and with his mindset, I think he will get much more out of his time at tOSU. PDIII is definitely a rare talent as well, so he can greatly improve too, but I give the mental edge to make it happen to JM. That said, I wouldnt at all be surprised to see PDIII in the finals.

    McKenna Transfer

Holy crap that was one of the dumbest arguments ever had on here. DO you guys need to argue about EVERYTHING?!?!

    Suriano, the move is off?

Not only that, but they also state things that are not factual - I wish they did some research before talking on the topics they discuss. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  17. I'd like to hear your thoughts on your "era" and what your experiences were with transfers/changing of minds. It seems that this has become more and more prominent with commits/decommits and transferring. I wrested in the early 1990s at Pitt and the only transfer of note I can really recall is Rich Catalano transferred in from Iowa. I think I recall that he had a family member (mother, maybe - but I can't remember for sure) ill and he got an NCAA waiver (there is the old "waiver" word again) and was able to wrestle right away, placing 4th at NCAAs. On a personal note - he kicked my ass on a daily basis (he was 167 and I was 158) and was a super nice guy. My highlight that year was when I took him down one practice in a scramble - coach Stotty yelled - "see Mitchell, if you work harder you CAN do it!" I never took him down again. Question for you ex-college wrestlers

So I guess the moral of the story is that transferring was as prevalent then as it seems to be now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Question for you ex-college wrestlers

Dag - Bob Whalen was like a big bro to me growing up. He was 2 years ahead of me and I was looking at UVA b/c he was there but then he told me he was transferring to Cornell so I stopped looking at UVA. He wanted me to check out Cornell but I had my heart set of Pitt (lifelong Pitt fan so when Stotty called I was already sold). In fact, Bob had a sweet Pitt hat in high school that he gave me when he was a senior and I was a sophomore. I wore it for every match/tourney. I still have it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    LASIK and Wrestling

If you get PRK, which is slightly different than LASIK, but done in same facility and by the same did, the risks are nullified. The issue you have is that with LASIK they cut a flap on your cornea, shape the eye by scraping it, then put the flap back. The risk is that this flap could get knocked loose. With PRK they just scrape the eye to shape it - no flap. Once it heals it's like nothing was done. I should add, though, that recovery is much longer. It took me a few months to have 100% clear vision, but it was well worth it. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Great storylines and thoughts, Mr Tucker. I'd obviously love to see JB back to where he was 2 years ago, but he seems to have lost that "it" that he had before. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Nailed it. And it's the same 3-4 posters arguing all the time on every single topic over semantics, language interpretations, "you're wrong, I'm right", blah blah blah, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
