  2. Not what I said. He thought he was off the record because, well, the writer said as much. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  3. Yep, but the strict interpretation of the rule is 1 point for each kid in violation. Ditty is a really good ref - he was put in a very bad spot bc the Hershey table guy called it out repeatedly, so he seems to have felt backed into a corner on it. Just last week I worked a table at the District III team duals and he was reffing - I gotta say, as soon as those matches ended, he made a beeline to the table and signed the books! PS - that's our HS coach being quoted in that article. The guy who wrote it never told Heckard he was going to quote him Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  4. They were both 13 at the time. The next year Teasdale won 82 and DeSanto won 97 (growth spurt!) Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  5. That was PJWs 2012. 13-14 year olds 77 pounds
  6. Unfortunately this is what's happening to the wrestling 'community'. Turning into the biggest meathead MMA wannabe gatherings. Just go to few big youth tourneys and you'll see. It disgusts me Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

  8. He didn't dig real deep - the match results were posted under "Results" not too long after the dual ended. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  9. Sooooo...... Not much of a math guy here when it comes to that algorithm stuff so could take tell ya. Just was passing along what my understanding. Clearly it is not a full proof method bc there are tons of examples of anamolies. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  10. As Zebra said - my understanding is that they are career rankings, not point-in-time rankings. So even tho Lee lost to Rivera, his total body of work (based on the algo) supports him still being the best active 125 overall What works be interesting is if that algorithm could computer best ever. Not sure it's possible to get all results all time, but that'd be cool to see Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
  11. My dad and I saw a mountain like years ago up in Clinton County where our camp is. But "they aren't in PA" ..... Just like coyote weren't until there were so many that they were like "er..... Um..... What we meant was that there ARE coyote here in PA, and you can now shoot them pretty much anytime... But we still don't know how they got here...." Yeah, right Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

  13. Ok - just learned this tidbit of info today - apparently the Hershey (inital team that lost but then ended up winning) table person (each team gets a rep at the head table) was the one who pointed it out to the ref and would not let it go. The ref was kinda backed into a corner because it IS a rule and this guy was hammering the ref about it, so he apparently felt almost obligated to call it at that point. 14. I live right down the road from Red Land, one of my good friends is a coach there and I know the ref. Here is what I'm told by people who were there (I was not) - the two wrestlers walked through the line shaking hands with singlets up and then after everyone had shaken hands and they were all walking back to their respective sides, they pulled down their straps. At this point, parents from both teams were already matside to see their kids and everyone there thought it was over over and we're shocked when they saw the scuttlebutt at the scorer's table and heard that the ref penalized RL twice for the singlets. I agree that you've got to enforce the rules, but at some point it's to much, right? The intent of this rule isn't for these situations. The dual meet us over, kids have shaken hands, parents are waiting to talk to the kids.... Keep in mind that this decision not only affects Hershey by putting them in the 8 spot for District team duals with a little over a week to go, but pushed back 2 other teams who were ahead of them and would have stayed ahead had Hershey lost - so there are 2 teams potentially negatively affected significantly. 15. I'm not sure I'd quote Wikipedia as "documented evidence"
  16. Crap - read it wrong! Glad I checked in real quick!
  17. That's the overall score with women. If you go to the top and click the dropdown that says "Scores", then you can pick individual styles. For the men, we are down 168 to 150 with only Snyder left to add 5 possible points.
  18. Don't they start finals at 130 Central? If so, he won't wrestled till the end, right?
  19. Yeah - I was kinda wondering about that sequence (had a bit of a stutter during the feed as it happened). They showed Perry right after it happened and I thought for sure we'd see him hitting the buzzer but then he just kinda looked around, held up one and then the camera went back to the center of the mat
  20. You mean other than the JB / Chimazzo match? Others may disagree but I think the scoring went off the rails after the 2 and 2 for Red, no, wait 2 R, 1 B, no wait, Red gets nothing and Blue gets 2" sequence. Other than that, and Tedev pushing the ref when Rashidov lost (that ref was a bit flaky) from what I've seen, it's been pretty good How about that Bonnie 5, tho - that was sweet. I can't believe both Hrovat and Sparks were clueless about the scoring.
  21. Strip district is only about a 5 min walk from the arena - not 20. That has the highest concentration of bars in close proximity but there are a lot of newer bars in town. The social scene in downtown is a bit spread out but you can practically walk from one end of town to the other in 10 mins. Also - you can get to the North Shore (by the stadiuns) easily.
