  1. It may not have a name, and I've certainly never seen it before, but it looked intentional, the way he spun around and figure foured the arm. I would guess it's something he's worked on. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  2. I don't understand what that has to do with my comment. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  3. No. There are plenty of examples of coaches taking in a lot more difficult cases. Chance (which actually turned out well), blue dragons jr., Andrew Long....... Someone will rent an NCAA champion for a season. If he doesn't like you after that, who cares? Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  4. Haha. That's funny because if he wanted to go back up he'd be back in the scenario where he'd have to face a rested Burroughs in the finals after going through the challenge tourney. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  5. Hopefully he will find the next world championship worth his time to show up.....
  6. Burroughs took it up a notch and decided to go bottomless, too. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  7. He's proven himself to be a class act despite some heartbreaking losses to DT and he continues to work to get better. Hard not to like him even if you want him to lose. The rivalry between the two is great and I hope it goes on for several more years. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  8. I love that small pox is being used in this thread as a case against vaccines, given the vaccine virtually eradicated the disease. Anyone making that argument is either a high level troll or a world class idiot. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  9. To be fair, we had a pretty damn good Olympics, too.... Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  10. I'm not gonna listen to the podcast. Does he talk about freestyle at all? I understand his injuries and rehab have kept him out for several years now, but just curious if he addressed this at all and the plans for the future.
  11. Obviously he was late to weigh ins and it was either his and/or KJ's fault. Nobody else to blame. I think KJ fell on the sword as it was their best bet to get the decision over turned, but J'den is clearly not mad at him. I think the root of his anger is he was told he could still weigh in once he ran off that 0.2 lbs, which he did, and was told he was good to go. Then someone must have thrown a fit about the rules (which is whoever he won't publicly call out, but I'm going to guess Cael, who is not a fan of J'den since he beat Taylor). It's his fault, but any one of us would be pissed at missing that opportunity as well. But I also agree that the "mad at the whole world" look, is not a good one. I want him to go back to the "I'm the best in the world" look.
  12. There's been a lot of jokes about this, which is all good fun. But it was just really poor planning and organization. Making 97 was never going to be a problem for him unless he shows up late to weigh-ins. The dude wrestled 86 a few years ago. He has the potential to be one of the best wrestlers on the planet if he is in the right head space and wrestling aggressively. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  13. To be fair, everyone seems to hang with Fix. The biggest surprise would be if there are more than 5 points scored in the match. Hell, anything more than 3 total points will be a barn burner. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  14. Does losing nothing mean still having the strength he had at 92? Even if the cut doesn't drain him (which it will), it would be impossible to maintain that level of muscle and strength going down that much. He would still be strong, but he would not just come in and manhandle these smaller guys like he still has 30 lbs. on them. Ringer and Imar could match his physicality and JB would blow through him. I don't think he gets passed Nolf, anyways. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  15. Elam. Certainly not a favorite, but he only lost two matches last year, both at NCAA, a SV loss to Amine and avenged his other loss in the 5th place match. And he had a great showing at Jr. Worlds. I might put his chances higher than Mauller's just because he is still improving a lot. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  16. Mark Henry was also (and probably still is) one of the strongest men on the planet. I haven't watched fake wrestling since I was a wee lad, but from what I've seen in commercials, there are plenty of pudgy guys running around in their underwear. I don't think the fan base cares about the body builder look as much as some posters here think (not sure how much they care about an Olympic gold, either). And watching a chubby guy do back flips off the top rope will be entertaining to them. His charisma and story line will determine his success.
  17. I believe this is the case. There was a lot of criticism years ago over Vince McMahon forcing steroids on his employees and there has certainly been a resulting change in the ratio of ripped vs chubby "wrestlers ". I'm sure drugs are still abused to some degree, and Gable will certainly be exposed to all sorts while traveling 300 days a year, but it won't be required. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  18. I don't blame the fighters, not even Paul. I blame anyone who is willing to pay to watch these "fights". Paul would lose to a decent amateur in his weight class and would make no money doing it, so he picks fights with non-boxers that are 20 lbs less than him and have a significant reach disadvantage. I don't see the interest, but others are apparently willing to shell out money hoping he gets his ass kicked. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  19. I can't understand at all why there is any interest in these fights, or why they are even considered "pro" fights. Paul has yet to fight an actual boxer or someone that is actually his size. Nate Robinson would beat him one-on-one in basketball, and Askren and Woodley would demolish him in wrestling or MMA. These are purely cash grabs, and somehow there are enough gullible folks out there for it to work.
  20. Even the 2016 world championships were "real". Why would they allow Olympians to go when the point was to fill in the weights we are screwed out of in the Olympics? They all got their shot that year. Sure, they were watered down, but we complain about the non-Olympic weights being weak even in non-Olympic years. And the World Championships the year after the Olympics (which is basically what this year's worlds will be), is always a bit weaker with retirements and guys not being as committed. It doesn't take away from what those that are committed and show up are able to accomplish.
  21. This is all true, but they didn't know who Kurt Angle was, either. The Olympic gold lends credibility as an athlete to whatever storyline they could come up with for him. But it is just a soap opera, so his success will depend completely on his storyline and how the fans accept it, as well as his charisma. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  22. It may be true, but when our greco guys all seem to go 0-1 getting teched at every international comp, it's hard to not think there might be a couple guys out there that have better greco potential and never gave it a fair shot. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
  23. That's your better analogy? Holy ****.
  24. It doesn't seem to actually be his gym, based on the website, rather they are using his name as a coach/competitor to attract paying clientele. He could have some ownership stake, I guess, if he took out a loan or has some family money backing him, but it seems like he just convinced ATT to open a gym in Happy Valley instead of him having to move to one of their other locations.
