Technically (as far as the American style goes) and strategically, he's incredibly elite. But physically, I don't see the same quickness and power.

Gomez (1x medalist) and Bezkod (2x medalist) will have the most heroic road to the finals.
Pigtail- Eachother R32- old man Garzon (4x medalist) R16- Demirtas (2x medalist) Quarters- Burroughs (5x champ) Semis- Sidakov (reigning champ) Finals- Chamizo (2x champ) That's just ridiculous.

In that sequence, it looked like Punia was pressuring in to not only avoid a stepout, but to setup that throw.  Punia initiated the move....you can see the KAZ wrestler's left foot lifted off the mat.....he couldn't push of to initiate that move.  Just my opinion...Fadz  (I have become a fan of Punia's.....student of the sport, loves to compete and has a huge gas tank)

This is quietly one of the worst officiated matches I’ve seen of the tournament so far, more so because of the chair...

    - 4 point move by Kaz- I just can’t help but see that clearly as Bajrangs move... I think if he didn’t land so flat it would have been easily his 4  and it’s hard not say that was a homer call...
-First/second hands to the face white paddled- I don’t recall a warning given before this but it was clear he was getting hands to the face by the KAZ and the official even awarded 1 to Bajrang only to have it white paddled by the chair! I haven’t been watching international long but I haven’t seen a call like that white paddled.
    - unfortunate step out, this was more on bajrang and I have to watch it again to see if it was a push out but it was a terrible 1 to give up
    - The lack of calls for stalling on the KAZ- he could have been easily called for stalling before it was called. Taking all that time to get to the center and sitting and catching his breath on the side of the mat with Bajrang pleading for him to come back to the center was really unfortunate
-The ridiculous cube thrown by the chair that almost seemed designed to give the KAZ a breather...

I feel like there were other things but at first I felt like Bajrang wasn’t wrestling as hard as he usually does and then there was call after call not going against the KAZ and the terrible 4 call at the beginning.... That was very frustrating to watch.

The point that they awarded Rashidov appeared to be for a step out. It seems like the jury decided that Rashidov went to his back to initiate that step out, and you're allowed to go to your back to initiate a score (like in a lat drop).

To me Aliyev initiated the situation by getting to rear standing, which caused Rashidov to hit that kind of standing Peterson roll. Aliyev initiated, then Rashidov tried to counter and failed, Aliyev's points. They never give you a slip if you're being attacked and hit a Hail Mary move to try to buy a cheap slip, and they shouldn't have let Rashidov off the hook there.
    EDIT: Rashidov countered, not Aliyev.

Frankly, I wouldn’t mind seeing more US wrestlers take their talents to Canada, Australia, the UK, or wherever else. It would just make for a better show, as far as I’m concerned.

Zain is an incredible wrestler. And every American fan will be cheering for him. But his resume to date does not suggest he'll win a medal later this week.
Here are his individual senior level accomplishments, as far as I can tell:
2019- Yasar Dogu- 7th 2019- Ivan Yarygin- 8th 2017- Worlds- 11th 2017- Grand Prix of Spain- 1st 2015- Dave Schultz- 4th I’d love to see Zain prove the conventional wisdom wrong and win a medal, and I’m sure other US fans would love to see that, too.
