Word around the campfire is 2020 is the inaugural season for women's D1 wrestling. Anyone know why this isn't being promoted as much? This can only be good for wrestling, and funding for wrestling at every institution nationwide.

Actually it did happen, but there's so much disinformation whats put out in the public domain is diluted to the point of uselessness.   Give a terrorist a knife and someone is getting stabbed. Give one a club, and someone is getting clubbed.  Give one a U.F.O. and they would destroy the earth. The mantle of secrecy on specific exotic technologies now being used, cannot be lifted. As long as people are evil, they can never be allowed to have power over space, time, and matter.  Unless of course, you chip and track every man, woman, and child on the planet.
(Hmmmm) Starting to get the bigger picture? And even then you'll have men over you, monitoring you as God's. Take it from someone who's been "Behind the Green Door" and knows fully of gravitational time dialators and plank portals.
People only 'think' they want the veil of secrecy lifted. Don't expect the Gov. to admit anything in regards to these technologies, or that we've had contact w/ advanced civilizations for the better part of 70 years.  It would cause a collapse of the wave function before the appointed time. Either way, non-believers require proof. Anytime said proof is given....they dispute it. Don't be discouraged though, in our lifetime we will live to regret serious extraterrestrial disclosure.
Some things are better left unknown. Not because knowledge is evil but because we are....

The timing of this seems odd. Why did they wait 20 plus years to raise the issue? I don't believe the wrestlers are making up that they were abused by the doctor. But if they didn't file a formal complaint what do they expect? Good luck trying to do an ethics investigation on Jordan for something that happened between 20 and 30 years ago. I can't believe that Jordan would have sat idly by and not done anything if he knew about the abuse. It's a typical smear campaign. If he was the coach, from the mid 80s to mid 90s he would have been in his mid 20s to early 30s. Showering with the wrestlers doesn't seem out of line for that era.

Kids don't shower after P.E. like they used to....Too many nasty smelling "snowflakes". Showering after practice is a discussion in and of itself.

I've only met this man once!!!  But WOW!!!! I sat in on what they call the "wall talk", and let me tell you.  This guy made me (72 years old) want to put my shoes on and go win a state championship for him.

I've been around some of the best, been coached by some of the best, and have seen some of the best in and around Central PA.

This guy is the real deal.  He would fit right in over in our neck of the woods!! Much respect to one of my top 5 coaches I have ever been around (including Dan Gable and Cael Sanderson).

He's built something at Poway High School (public school btw) that is remarkable, and I'm not talking about their multi-million dollar facility.

Much respect to this coach, he is everything that wrestling was meant to be!!!!!!

At 30 seconds of this interview.  Listen to what Aaron Pico says.  This is back in 2013... Humble kid, and great representative of our sport.  I don't understand why some people on here love to bash him.

The best high school coach I have personally witnessed is/ was Wayne Branstetter.  This is based on some of the best I've seen in PA Harrisburg County and around. I've never, ever seen a coach squeeze so much juice out of a kid.  Talk about taking a nobody and molding him into a somebody.  WoW!! Just Wow!!

If you've ever heard one of his "wall talks" you know what I'm talking about.  I'm going to miss reading about his team with him at the helm.

We had a great time in Colorado.  Time to get out before the snow comes!!!!!!!

Downtown Denver and the surrounding areas are awesome.  I would come back and visit just for the atmosphere, restaurants, and sunshine.  We really loved it.

The state championships were fun, there was a bit of excitement on some matches, and the atmosphere was everything you would want and expect from a state wrestling tournament.  I would seriously argue to any coach in Colorado in a tactful manner.  They need to drop down to 2 classifications, the depth of talent is just not there to justify all of their classifications. On the flip side if they did that, the Pepsi Center would be more of a ghost town.  I would suggest they go only 2 classifications and add the girls state championship at the same venue, at the same time.  This would make up for the lost fanbase of the other classifications.

Either way, we did get to see some exciting matches here and there.  I'm glad we attended and took part!!!

You have to realize that the way things are, just doesn’t fit your version of reality like you thought. Tidbit after tidbit adds up, and it’s not possible to explain them all away and be honest. Adam T. had everything right, paperwork, cultures etc.  There are infinite paths of self-delusion, and the fact that you're spending your life in a brain mansion built of words means that you lack the objectivity necessary to see the terrible distortion of reality...Doc.

I wasn't going to respond since what's done is done, but since we're going with "first hand" accounts...

This is half true.  The skin had been cultured.  It had come back positive for impetigo.  It had been treated for impetigo.  And it had been treated long enough (5 days).  It was on the proper form with the proper information and done by a board certified dermatologist.  And, it wasn't herpes.

Your non-skin doctor (general local guy who has never treated a skin disease) by LOOKS ALONE wanted the dermatologist who treated the infection to GUARANTEE him with 100% certainty that it was not both impetigo and herpes.  And since our dermatologist could not provide a guarantee on her medical license, we spent thousands of dollars to fly to Ohio to have a non-skin guy go on a gut instinct instead of a medical professional in the area of skin's opinion, culture, and treatment.  Good form Ironman.  We did our part to help the doctor make a good decision by letting him speak with the dermatologist, and at the end of the day, the tournament and its staff failed us.

Here's the best part.  We came back with herpes from the tournament.  We had the only athlete required to demonstrate with absolutely medical certainty that a skin condition was something other than what it was marked and treated for.  Yet, apparently that standard didn't apply to other wrestlers.

As I told all of you at the event -- you've seen us for the last time.  The bad news is, I think some others feel the same way.  When you start feeling you are the show, it's often the same result as when you feel you've become a good enough coach or a good enough wrestler.  The tournament is only as good as those in attendance.

Slipping that right hand and throwing a left hook in the pocket (and connecting with power) is not an amateur thing to do.  I know many top pro MMA fighters and who wouldn't even think of doing that! He not only did it, he did it with precision and with blinding speed.  He's definitely throwing his hands at a high level.  Once he settles down and relax's a bit more he'll be really hard to beat.

I've seen and have trained with the best boxers in PA to include Larry Holmes, Bernard Hopkins, Joe Frazier, Sonny Liston, Carl "the truth" Williams.  I'm even the East Coast's biggest fan of the All-Time Mexican Great and only undefeated Mexican champ!!  Ricardo "El Finito" Lopez.  (most don't know this guy)

I can say W/O a shadow of doubt Pico only has an upward trend.   He's definitely got a style that will be fun to watch. (Mexican style-moving forward w/ pressure)

My only criticism is his style is not conducive to longevity.  That style of fighter has a short term career, but man do they bring exciting fights!!

Let the kid enjoy his win!!  There's way too much criticism from back seat drivers.

fanta got a reaction from superbowlhomeboy in Alternate Two-Piece Uniform Approved for High School Wrestling
In many instances I believe our sport is like a cult. Just keep pursuing those that went before you and don't ask questions. Lord forbid we would want to make any changes to our sport. If we want our sport to flourish in the future, we need to listen to those that are outside of our sport. If we don't adjust their misconceptions or modify our sport to more main stream it, it will continue to be troublesome to bring new people to wrestling. Our sport is tough for outsiders to accept and the uniform just gives them another excuse. Is wrestling just going to keep relying on the sons of former wrestlers to fill the sport? At most youth tournaments, kids wear shorts and a T-shirt and there has never been a problem and that is with shirts untucked.

I was durable enough to make it through but many kids are not. I was henpecked because we wore tights in middle school. In HS many remarks were made by my own friends. I had the handle of "Spuds" (looked like I had some huge taters in my singlet) and "Crotchman" or "TOO BEAUCOUP" for related reasons or how I wore a onesie into college. Non-wrestling adults today cannot believe I wore a uniform like that. You think their kids are going to wrestle? Friends, devotees, and parents have a tough time getting past it and so do many kids but not all. A majority of the people don't have to look far to find that information out.

There are two things that will come from a non wrestling person. Usually first is cutting weight and then singlets aren't far behind.
