Team Foxcatcher (new documentary) now on Neflix
goiahawkeyes replied to OldGrappler's topic in College Wrestling
This documentary blows the movie away! For Nancy to go back to the farm and go in the house they lived and stand in the driveway where Dave was shot was just unbelievable to me. Tons of great interviews...it's a must watch for wrestling fans. -
That's pretty effective when you're down 8-0, 4-0, 4-0 ....like in his highlights

Ummm, 17 staff members for 9 athletes to Mongolia?
goiahawkeyes replied to Two_on_one's topic in International Wrestling
Which of these people would you keep home? All the athletes have their personal coaches attending, which is great...that's the way it should be. -

I think you're referring to @Choco_Taco_GVW tweet. Go check his timeline. I'm not going to post it here.

Great question. Nobody would think any less of him if he decided not to come back. He's had a very difficult year. My thought process is that he wrestled pretty well (not up to his standards, but pretty well) this year WHILE still coping. I think he comes back after he has some time away this off season.
-
That was a mistake. He's wrestling 65 kg this weekend
-
Correct. I'll go with Hoch, Kulchytsky, Valencia (unless Hall registers), Hamlin, Zabriskie, Schafer

I don't see Cox finishing in the top 5 to be honest Dake Herbert Taylor Ruth Reader Cox Gavin Caldwell Foster Perry Trotman

U.S. Olympic Team Trials - April 9th & 10th
goiahawkeyes replied to RealAmericanHero's topic in International Wrestling
1) You have to remember that this isn't just freestyle. The women and Greco weights have to go too, so let's not get too worried about 2 FS weights going day one vs 4 on day 2. 2) I would also like to be getting more information. The fan fest could be great, but they need to publicize it. Same goes for the dinner the night before. I'm going but I have no idea what to expect -
I'd love to see Herbert get the spot to make for a great story after his comeback, but in all honesty I think Dake takes it this year. Taylor and Ruth are great, but Dake and Herbert are just better.

Yep, looking forward to it!

Yeah, it's over.

Daniel Dennis discussion thread
goiahawkeyes replied to BigTimeFan's topic in International Wrestling
Dennis will absolutely be a threat at the trials. I think he's the #2 seed and will definitely be a tough match for Ramos, should they meet. You can't count Graff out either. -
Taylor's biggest mistake is going for the low single every freaking time and getting his head stuffed in the mat or creating a scramble situation. Both situations favor Dake big time. If he's going to beat Dake he's going to have to go to a different attack.
-
Do you think the outcome of any of those matches would have been different if Iowa had traveled to Rutgers? I honestly don't.
-
See..The Hawkeyes can have fun too

He wore it last year also on ugly sweater night
