I can explain why Yazdani's loss to me is much bigger disappointment than the joy of  Esmailpour's amazing performance to me
 
Yazdani is 22.  In the Olympics, he did not give up single point until the finals.  I was and am hopeful than someone that has performed so well at ages of 19-22 can develop into a  truly world class champion.  His best is hopefully ahead of him.
 
Esmailpour is 28.  He has a silver and bronze, at the worlds,  Yes, he has many Asian championships, but that is not the same thing as winning the world or Olympics.  He will be 31 at the next Olympics. I cannot say his best is ahead of him.
 
I am impressed as hell with his world cup performance, but do not have hopes that he will win an Olympics gold medal anymore.

Oh, there is clear optimistic view to Us wrestlers and pessimistic to others, by some users here!!

I dont think its fair at all. Hadi was the better wrestler all Ollympic cycle. Its obvious that they wanted Ghasemi badly. Same they did last Ollympics. Hadi should move and wrestle for some other country.

Akbari got a such bad backache that Doctors avoided him from wrestling last year. so retired at 24.

Actually Mohammadi needed Rest 5 months to treat his injury (such as what does Sadulaev after same injury) but they killed him by sending him  to several trial and tournaments. I'm pretty sure Nasiri won't take any medal if selected.

Shiraz believe me, Hadi only need coaches trust, he is real treat for gold and can do much more than Ghasemi at Olympic (I hope Makhov go to Gerco and abandon freestyle, because i believe that he is the toughest opponent for Hadi).

Unless Iran got World cup title, It was very disappointing in my thoughts.
2 of 3 most hopeful wrestlers challenging for Olympic gold were totally out of shape because of bad recent knee injuries, and necklace injury on of them is vague(mohammadi65, Karimi86, and Yazdani 97).
Also i would hope Hasan Yazdani meet Burroughs before Olympic but it didn't take-place.
The only good point for me is that Hadi backed in shape, and Hasan Yazdani showed that has improved in new weight (but was less than I expected too).
Rezaee (team manager) said that they were in middle of tough training for Rio and see World cup as a Preparation for Olympics.

The team was on the local LA news again (this time on ABC7) literally moments ago. Interviews with Kyle Snyder and "Frank Molinary", some short footage of Taylor and Snyder drilling. Always great to see our guys featured on tv!

The USA Wrestling MFS team was featured on the NBC4 evening news last night in LA.  It was a pretty nice story about the WC team training in Southern California for the upcoming event at The Forum.  The sports guy interviewed Burroughs, Cox, Molinaro, Snyder and showed a bit of Burroughs, Cox, Dennis, Ramos(?), Taylor, Tervel, Varner(?) and others wrestling and drilling. I'm just going off of what I remember here so some of those names may be wrong.
 
If anyone finds the video please post it - I haven't been able to find the story but the station is NBC4LA and the sports reporter was Mario Solis.

Iran recently faced to an injury tsunami (Hadi, Reaz Yazdani, Hasan Yazdani, Karimi, S.A.Mohammadi, Lashkari). They recently invited 2 separate group to new champ. It seems that Iran's World Cup team will be selected from the first group as here:(supposed not any injury)

65: S.A.Mahammadi, Nasiri
70: Hosseinkhni, Dadashpour
74:H,Yazdani, A. Ghasemi, Yarahmadi

I thought Sadulaev was pretty big but he looks smaller than Kudiyamagomedov and Kurugliev in the photo. Maybe it's the angle and lighting. I wonder how Cox compares physically.

He has destroyed guys such Tahan, Mirzaei and Talebi many times in nationals,actually was more active in Pahlavani H.W (although less weight), before 2015.
