  1. That is true got me there. Jay is head and shoulders above Meyer, sorry not sorry. I'd say Jay beats Hall off experience and just age difference. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. So does everyone really think Borschel would beat Hall? Just curious. I've read stuff about Jay and seen old matches but Mark is more my time so I'm just curious to know if he was that much better than Hall? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Best match at the finals that year IMO lol best heavy match I've definitely ever seen Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Talking about heavyweights this reminded me of the 3rd & 4th place match this past season of two heavys at the Indiana state finals https://youtu.be/dRZ-hzTiv3M Enjoy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. From a personal source of mine he is leaning more towards the wrestling route. Very reliable source actually. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Didn't they just let 2/3 kids that were caught stealing and drinking back on the team? The other of the 3 was Seth gross who they accepted back but he decided to transfer. Also, wasn't there troubles with Ramos and Dennis at the beginning of their careers that the Brands quickly straightened out? And didn't they let Montell Marion wrestle too who was in and out of trouble? Sounds like Iowa both admin and coaches are about giving second chances to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Hopefully something huge bout to happen. I would love to see something like this take off. A professional (actual real) wrestling league would be so cool. Hopefully it doesn't (but could) pan out like the Agon deal though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Okay I gotcha now. I agree when you say it like that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Maybe not 2nd most popular but if you give a s*** about wrestling at all and do the slightest amount of research on the sport you will quickly learn who dan gable is. My uncle who never wrestled but came to my matches knew more about gable than me just by listening to others and growing up a sports fanatic in the era that Gable ran the show. Definitely not 2nd but he will never be forgotten or not spoken of. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. No way. I agree their style is unorthodox but I think it's what makes them them and it's what makes Iowa wrestling Iowa wrestling. They don't break the law, they pay their bills and taxes, law abiding citizens and are good christians so I don't think they need to change anything. I love their crazy coaching ways cause it gives enthusiasm to the sport. Not to mention I think their crazy minds is what helped drive to get kemerer and Lee, driving all night at the drop of a hat and owning Brands owning his mistakes. I love it. Not bashing just trying to get you see it from another side. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Yes thank you for this. I think that's what they all mean as do I just in life overall. They're not wanting their opponent to not have God on their side, PSU just wants to be sure they stay on His side in everything, win or lose. I'm the same way, say a job interview comes up, I get it, I'm going to give thanks to god for giving me this opportunity to come along on my path of life, but that doesn't mean I don't want the guys I was competing with for that job to not have God on their side trying to teach them a lesson to better their lives cause I'm sure there's plenty of times someone's beat me and gave thanks to god for winning while I sat trying to figure out what God wanted me to do next or the lesson He wanted me to learn. 12. Is it just me or does anyone else not understand why PSU guys get made fun of for talking about God in interviews? I'm not trying to start anything, but I'd rather have a kid give praise to God than a kid that is super cocky or says absurd remarks. Not to mention if you ever listen to Ohio state guys talk they are extremely big on praising god as well. People that I have talked to that have talked to tom Ryan have even said he likes recruiting kids that have a strong relationship with God. The PSU recruiting is getting out of hand, yes, but I just don't get why they get made fun of or joked on by their beliefs. Sort of like Tim Tebow gettin joked on by his strong relationship with God. Not trying to start an argument just looking for clarity on the subject is all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I think (please don't quote or anyone bash me on this) but I think the par terre is optional now. You may ask for it. If someone knows something else please speak up and correct me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Ahh thank you for that. Didn't even think about them! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Isn't NEO a juco? I know they're a pipeline for Oklahoma and Oklahoma state lol so congrats on getting offers from them and for just walkin on at OSU. A lot better than I could've done. But yeah I just don't see how it's fun to live out the dream of wrestling in college at the expense of at least 20k a year Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Unless you've got strong academics to get grants and scholarships for DIII (or got money) I'd go JUCO all day. TBH I did go juco over d3 and d2 cause juco offers way more scholarships, and still super tough competition. Hard to live the dream of wrestling in college at the cost of 30k+ a year. Not bashing just my opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Molinaro was who beat him his junior year. But yes, it would be pretty cool to tell someone that you were one of his few losses in high school. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Another one, idk if it's been mentioned, but Gabriel Dean: 2x finalist 1x champ in high school, 73rd ranked recruit coming out of high school. Another one that could be mentioned is Lavion Mayes: 1x state champ, 3rd as junior. Went on to 4x NCAA qualifier, 3x AA. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Jordan Burroughs: 1x state champ and runner up (all I know for sure) from NJ. 4x NCAA qualifier, 3x AA, 2x champ, Olympic champ and so on. I'd say he excelled in college and after. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Don't know how you guys feel bout d3 but Riley Lefever was only a high school runner up at best. 4x d3 national champ. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I'd love for that. I'm from Indy and I'd want to see how the city handles it and would definitely be able to go. Just one time. Plus I hope it'd get schools like iu and Purdue interested in getting some good kids there LOL Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Who's "that D3 kid"? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. IMO, and I'm not nearly as knowledgeable as you all, I just think that kids are starting to steer away from Iowa overall. The Brands name carries weight but I just feel unless you are raised an Iowa Hawkeye fan, from Iowa or just love getting the s*** worked out of you daily then you aren't meant for Iowa. It just seems like Cael is having more success, not just with being in PA, but also cause he makes the practice room fun, enjoyable, rewarding and they still work hard. Whereas Iowa seems like a prison camp and no normal 18 year old kid wants to go to prison camp unless you're just nuts like the Brands. So I think kids are starting to realize that you can go have more fun at PSU, tOSU and other schools and be just as successful instead of going to prison at Iowa to be successful. Just my opinion from the things I've seen and read. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. University of Indianapolis Wabash college University of Rutgers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. What about Indianapolis?...home of the NCAA headquarters...growing city also just stay away from the east side. Downtown indy is always a blast with tons of stuff to do withing walking distance. And not on top 30 crime list. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk
