So a proven senior with documented injuries not wrestling in a non conference November dual.. with the coaches openly stating he wouldn’t wrestle days ahead instead of waiting till the middle of the dual (like the brands did with Stoll against Snyder)
is some sort of not manly/macho disrespectful ducking thing?

Lee just won a title on no ACLs. He’s dominated Glory. Glory might have been competitive at the end of a tech and ridden a mono ravaged Lee, but the scores haven’t been close. This isn’t someone ducking a rematch from a tb riding time victory they escaped with a win.

How hard is this for people to understand. Under the current competitive structure and way we evaluate programs. Duals don’t really matter. Non conference duals even less.

Prob 9 point swing at most.  Glory could only manage a decision over Lee's backup two years ago.

It’s not about the point swing. It’s about team culture.

and, my cynical view is glory threw a tantrum and Ayer’s (correctly) covered his athlete publicly

So the team gave up what is at least a “minimum” of a 9 points swing. And more likely a 10-12 point swing in team points all because Glory only wanted to wrestle Lee…
Because Ayers totally seems like the type to be okay with that.. eye roll. He’s probably just covering for glory

It’s not new. Most people whining will/would freak out worse if the coaches kept kids in and they lost/got hurt.

As long as people don’t put any value or worth in anything but NCAA results. Stop being surprised or whining

I hadn’t heard anything about Wisconsin. But color me shocked that Bono might be “allegedly” involved in such things and short term strategies

Well to be honest...I didnt' click on the link for their schedule and just took your word for it - I actually do find it interesting that they will see each other a lot this season. Will these be considered official recruiting visits by Cornell wrestlers when Koll is in the gym?

In my opinion KJ is simply not the big-picture CEO type that is required to run a national program at a high level. That's very different than being an assistant to one of the best CEO's in college wrestling in Sean Bormet though. I think he will excel in this role and be an absolute beast for them on the recruiting trail.

I don’t necessarily disagree. But I’m old school, better positioning and an attack to both sides are a must. Even if the primary attack is eons better you have to have “something” to open up both sides, especially if you don’t have much upper body.
As far as Metcalf, it kinda was weird to me how he abandoned the knee pull single he used a bunch to only have the high c

Would he wrestle 87 in GR?  Thats a 22 lb gap and Hancock is still young.
Amos splits his time. He has too given his folk commitments. I know he has entered greco competitions for a long time but how much does actually train greco compared to full time oversees greco people. I did not like what I saw against Mileshin. He looked raw and not fluid. Like someone who lacks hours on the mat doing greco.  Heavier weights do have more of lee way for strength and athleticism but....

Most of his set ups from ties are “slicker” type elbow and drag stuff. He doesn’t really have a under-hook, club or power set up. From a pure offense standpoint. He either dives from space or relies on slick stuff in close

3 years so not the longest but not great. Greco basically held serve for what it dies every 1-2 years. Bleh overall. 1 medal.

Im more worried about long term with WCAP getting cut the trickle down effects
