The rest of the Ohio schools are happy to even get called university’s after someone finally realized their dissertations were coloring books.  The Michigan schools stay in their lane and admit their teacher colleges with extra majors available and I have no idea what Ball State is doing

I think people aren’t understanding that Spencer clearly understands all of this.. he’s not that much of a closed book.
It really comes across that belonging to a team and something bigger than himself matters a great deal to him. I’m well aware many see and approach wrestling as a super duper selfish f everyone but me sport. Spencer doesn’t seem to like that or benefit from that. He specifically said his teammates belief in him is what made him think he could do it.
 
I think people blaming the Brands or Iowa’s team for his decision need to understand that.

I’m from NC and have been through Buies Creek over 100 times. I’ll just say this, the biggest draw in Buies Creek was Cary Kolat. And now that draw is gone. Last time this came up a year or so ago another poster argued with me that Buies creek is awesome because in your free time you can go hiking or kayaking. There’s absolutely no college life or sports atmosphere there. For 18-22 year olds that’s a tough sell.

Fair enough. It’s a possibility that he ignored his urgent advice from his coaches to get it fixed. I just don’t think it is a very strong one given his deference to his coaches, and the desire of Iowa’s coaches to get a title. But I actually kind of hope that is what happened so at least Spencer knows he made his own bed without any lingering bitterness.
