Look, when you have the military and large city police departments complaining that there are fewer and fewer quality recruits because of obesity, criminal records and a general lack of physical fitness (kids who can't do a push up but aren't obese) it's going to trickle down to tougher sports like wrestling.
 
Kids always got their butts kicked by the tougher kids, club kids are not a factor.

Two-time All-State for Palomar College, winning the championship in 1991 at 150 pounds, was fourth in 1990 at 142 pounds. Palomar is part of the California Community College system, thus, doesn't show up on wrestlingstats.com, since Jay never compiled the California champs/placers. 

Rutgers is down a little from last year which surprises me.

Thursday night the U.S. Wrestling Foundation and USA Wrestling are hosting a victory tour celebration. They will be giving out big checks to some of last year's world medalists, and Coach Zadick will be giving a speech and preview of the upcoming World Cup. You can buy tickets HERE
 
Also, if you feel so inclined, stop by the USA Wrestling booth at Fanfest. I'll be there giving out some USA Wrestling swag.

They will be receiving a USA Wrestling hat signed by an assortment of Men's Freestyle World and National Team members including, Jordan Burroughs, Logan Stieber, J'den Cox, Nick Gwiazdowski, Kyle Dake, and Head Coach, Bill Zadick.

i always liked how swain gets carried off the mat when there's like, 3 more matches to wrestle in the dual meet. did the team even win? or is everyone just really pumped for loudain? all that for a guy who'd rather warm up alone than bother cheering on his team mates. what kind of leadership is that anyway?
 
i'd also like to see the sequel from shute's point of view, that ends in the state final with shute mutilating swain.
 
concur on the shute self pin btw. i think its all tactical so he can set swain up in the tournament.
