  1. It might move to a spring sport whether we like it or not.

  3. This is going to have a profound effect on this year. That decision alone is going to hurt and potentially kill programs and universities.
  4. Typically, I love you Pirate. But today you make me sad. P.S. You make me sad because you're probably right.
  5. Athletics aren't even step 1. Getting the policies in place for students to come back to campus would be the first thing I would imagine universities are working on. So many schools need their precious and ridiculously expensive room and board money.
  6. I got dumber reading this thread.
  7. Pretty fitting posting this on a sports message board...
  8. I'm going to try and create a different topic on this board. Even if the economy opens and NCAA football teams are allowed to compete, no shot fans are going to be allowed in stands anytime soon. The liability is too high and I really don't see it happening for at least a year. So, we're going to have to watch our favorite wrestlers likely on streaming and TV services. My question is how is the lack of fans at games/events going to impact revenue? Are schools just going to start charging outrageous stream services? Just some thoughts.

  10. Some truly terrible takes in this thread... Great coaches aren't always great world beater wrestlers. Good example here - Carl Poff from LHU. As head coach of the LHU wrestling team, Poff took the team to new heights. The winningest wrestling coach in school history, Poff's teams went 167-62-3 and amassed a winning percentage of .720. His 2000-01 team went 21-2 and his 1996-97 team finished fifth at the NCAA Division I Championship – the highest finish in school history – behind five individual All-American performances. Poff's teams won four team PSAC titles and the school's only EWL title in 1997. He led 13 student-athletes to All-American status and coached 80 Division I national qualifiers. As a student-athlete, Poff was a two-time NCAA qualifier at nearby Bloomsburg University (1979)
  11. Yeah cause their two returning EIWA champs aren't talented? Smh
  12. I think Coleman Scott could've had a vote for coach of the year just sayin.
  13. The other job open is Navy as well. Kolat expressed interest in the position before from my understanding. He has relatively strong ties to the state. I could see it.
  14. I'd look at Navy's 2020 recruiting class before mentioning they don't get quality recruits. However, I do agree on the development front for sure. Coaching at the academies is no joke and I hope they will be able to find the right fit.
  15. Might as well get this thinking out of everyone's head. It's better to just move on. Yes, it hurts but some things are bigger than sports.
  16. Financially, an extra year would be a nightmare for schools. Title IX, scholarships, etc., would all have to be looked at.
  17. Everyone wants to act like nothing is happening till the virus affects them or someone they know personally... That said I would not be surprised one bit if NCAA's is cancelled or suspended indefinitely.
  18. Intermat has less bias imo and my go to for rankings. No hype, just fair rankings.
  19. He didn't do himself any favors at the MAC but if he can make the coaches poll again I'd say he has a decent chance. The criteria will make things interesting for a lot of the At-Larges in my opinion.
  20. "A total of 283 automatic qualifying spots were originally awarded, but only 282 were earned by athletes in each of the seven conference tournaments, leaving 48 at-large bids to be announced on Tuesday, March 10 at 3 p.m. ET." In the article...
