  1. If everyone really agreed that the rankings were the best way to determine qualifiers, then the powers that be would just use the rankings. This is a flawed season in so many ways. And the rankings are likely also flawed due to lack of sufficient matches overall and between conferences. So to suggest that accepting the system chosen as opposed to some other system not even specified somehow reflects a lack of "integrity" (not to mention any kind of political bias one way or another) is just ludicrous.
  2. Ahhha-Ahhha-Ahhhh... Waaa, Waaa, waaa!!
  3. Lehigh Wrestling - Lehigh Sports Forum You can find most of the usual cast of characters there - the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly!
  4. There's been a fair bit of chatter over on the Lehigh forum (OK, I admit it, I've been known to lurk there on occasion! ;-). From the sound of it, even the Lehigh fans are still not too sure of their lineup, let alone prospects. With the limited season, and low level of inter-conference competition, it's hard to really judge where wrestlers stand on the national level. I expect NCAA's will have some strange seeding and unexpected result (if indeed it happens?)
  5. Wait, I thought Smith was a branch on Spates's coaching tree... ;-)
  6. That look seems to be making a comeback recently.

  8. That can't be - a well known Lehigh poster has been posting match PBP on the Lehigh site. (Or was that a well-known Lehigh Prankster?)
  9. I think you missed a few... Legger is a good one. No way I'd ever post my real name here - too many crazies hanging around! (see top of post)
  10. Oh... You mean that's not his happy face?
  11. They look happy about this. Fingers crossed that all goes well!
  12. We've been asking that about Mopar for years...
  13. M* ? Kind of wonder, especially as they tried to cover up the stroke.
  14. No; but my sister has a PhD in molecular biology. She thinks we're all idiots.
  15. Trolls are gonna troll. For my part - I'm happy to see another outlet, but that probably won't mean I check this site any less. Sometimes more is more. ;-)
  16. You should move to South Dakota. You'd probably find plenty of like minded people there. See ya!
  17. Make no mistake - I do feel badly for the 450 or so boys (and I'm not sure how many girls) who will lose this opportunity. I also feel badly for my own daughter, who missed out on theater performances in her senior year, and the opportunity to be considered in the "Rising Star Awards" (AKA, NJ High School Tony Awards). I feel even worse for people who are losing jobs during this pandemic. This does hit close to home for us. But it has hit us harder seeing neighbors and members of our community get sick and die from this - police, doctors, teachers, restauranters, mothers, fathers - these people are not in nursing homes, they are active members of the community. They are not just numbers, they are known to us. I live here - I know how bad it can get. On a more positive note - both of our kids are in college this year, and they have almost gotten through the semester (finishing on campus instruction in just 3 weeks) It hasn't been "normal", but by following strict guidelines and limits, both schools (Syracuse and U of Hartford) have succeeded in managing the situation admirably well. The situation sucks, I grant you that - but making vague innuendo about conspiracy theories (sounds like someone else?) doesn't help. The best way out of this mess is to follow science and keeping this bug suppressed until a vaccine is developed. If people will just follow simple guidance - wear masks, social distance, avoid large gatherings - complete shut down would not be necessary.
  18. I have no clue what you mean - but I doubt you do, either.
  19. Because in New Jersey, we do the right thing.
  20. One of the things I liked about the WR forum is that you did have a pretty broad representation of other EIWA fans - Navy, Army, Penn, AU, Princeton as well as Lehigh and Cornell all had at least several frequent posters, which made for some pretty lively discussions. A fair number of the PSU fans used to chime in as well. Having separate and distinct team fora seems to dampen that kind of discussion - it's almost as if there is an unwritten rule that one does not intrude on the prevailing opinion on another team's forum - it seems trollish. Not to mention, there is the added step of joining and logging in on yet another website. You have to intentionally do it, just to poke at your rival - as opposed to just clicking on a different tab in a website you already check out to follow your own favorite team.
  21. That's sad if it truly is gone - for a long time, it was one of the best sites for coverage of smaller programs, and particularly those DII and DIII PA colleges. I think after Allen Brown passed, the motivation and drive to keep it going just wasn't there.
  22. I missed this initially, being away for the weekend - but sad to see it none the less. A big loss for the Lehigh community, the EIWA, and all of College Wrestling. Greg will be very much missed.
