Have any freestyle refs actually wrestled?
El lucador replied to AnklePicker's topic in International Wrestling
We really struggle. Greco is beyond terrible. We'll never produce quality wrestlers that can win internationally if our refs don't call matches the same as the rest of the world. I believe for the most part they don't understand what's going on in front of them. The US has 2 decent refs. -

Best tan transfers from Molinaro to Dake

There has been an interesting study on covid. Low levels of D are a very significant contribution in contracting it and dieing from it. Darker skined people have lower levels of D. Vitamin C and D is very advantages in fighting covid especially for dark complected people. -
The US will back out before any other countries in my opinion. I'm actually surprised we are being allowed to compete.

I'm anxious to see him complete against equally as athletic big guys. American heavies ain't like Russian heavies.

What are the details around not making it? Was he delayed getting there or just didn't make weight before weight ins completed because he was to heavy.

I'm looking forward to seeing this match one day. I always thought Zahid got out of position when coming up from a half shot or stopped shot. Sounds like J.B. figured him out. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

Anyone remember Erlan Van Lidth. He was a pretty amazing individual. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk -

I'm not disrespecting the kid just critiquing what I see as his biggest shortcoming on the mat. I'm not saying he won't be successful just that he will have problems if he doesn't make adjustments. As a Minnesota guy I said there was no way Dylan Ness and Seth Gross would ever have success a in college. So I tend not to make predictions anymore. Every year I am surprised by wrestlers who just don't pan out and by those who come out of nowhere. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

He creates bad pressure. He leans and pushes. He will not be able to bull around DI wrestlers and will pay for his bad position and over pushing if he doesn't adjust. He's getting away with it by being stronger and more physical but in college that advantage will go away and he will be left with only being out of position. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

He is young yet, but I watched a match of his from state against a 7th grader and a greco match against a Peru wrestler. He has some very bad habits that will keep him from having success at higher levels if he doesn't make changes. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

It's very similar to what we called an outside carry. We would do this with elbow or tricep control instead of grabbing the neck. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk -
